  1. The server is down here too for some reason.
  2. If that's true, why did we see this bug before? Fantastic. Thanks!
  3. Looks like I won't be flying the F-5 on Cold War...
  4. Is it running on DCSs dedicated server? :)
  5. Is the Cold War running on dedicated server Alpen?
  6. Submerging an engine with fuel during the start doesn't sound very interesting :D I bet that exceeded the TIT, didn't it? :)
  7. Terrible idea if you had an engine on (uncontrollable) fire. This is especially true if you use the extinguishers. The idea is to cut the fuel to the engines until you land, so no more fuel will be used to keep that fire going, introducing fuel again when you already had the engine on fire is the same idea as trying to put the fire out with gasoline. You don't know if the electrical system has a short, you don't know the overall condition of the engine, so no, that's a bad idea.
  8. Nice. It needs some tweakings, I believe it should be denser. But... this is condensation. :)
  9. I'm not the one saying it's not right, I'm the one who asked him a question and he replied saying something else, something that is not compatible with what I see in DCS. Since his word on the topic matters, because he's a pilot and he flew the real thing, I thought it would be a good idea to let the devs know about this. Now, if that's funny, well I can't do much about it... Just trying to show that something might be wrong. Since the PR guy said it's as good as it gets.
  10. Oh my mistake, I apologize. Yes, LAU-88. Thanks!
  11. Yes sir. You can even see their impact on your IAS.
  12. It's capable. They used on the A-10A, which was mounted on a different station (2 and 10, instead of 3 and 9 now with the Charlie), so some people say this implies in a few issues with the main landing gear wheel being 'burnt' by the rocket motor, but IMHO that's nonsense. The issue with the triple Mavericks boils down to drag and weight. LAU-88 which is the rack used to mount the Mavericks adds a considerable amount of mass to the aircraft, and drag as well, the drag index is very high, especially when you mount all three Mavericks on it. Although it was used in the past, this kind of loadout isn't used anymore due to the performance penalties, a lighter, less draggy airframe is sometimes more efficient. I'm not even sure if LAU-88 + 3xMavs is authorized anymore, but to a certain degree, yes it's realistic, and if you need to use it in the sim, USE it. Don't be afraid of using it because some individuals in this community are saying it's not realistic. This is a game and real life is something else.
  13. My statement has nothing to do with my own feelings. My questions regarding the Harrier came up specifically from this Harrier pilot I spoke to. @Shadow_1stVFW, I haven't mentioned the word "bug" at all, not sure where you got that from. I'm not reporting a bug, I'm asking the devs about a specific behaviour of the module in flight with asymmetric loads.
  14. Thank you for doing these tests! Quite interesting. I'll see if I can do some tests tomorrow. As for the lack of thrust in flight; that makes sense, I don't have any thrust curve graphs here, but the lack of an inlet might explain it. Besides the extra airflow when flying horizontally, the Harrier doesn't have a huge inlet to do work on the gas, Harrier doesn't seem to be very optimized for ram recovery at high speeds. And since inlet velocity is in the thrust equation, faster you go, smaller the difference between V1 (inlet) and V2 (exhaust) velocities so less thrust the engine produces.
  15. No, unfortunately, that's not the case. I asked that question 9 months ago. Why would I do that? I am asking a question about flight behaviour, not really asking for help. I don't think it's about being skilled, but rather if it's realistic or not. His comment isn't compatible with RAZBAM's flight behaviour IMHO. But then again, when you question a specific part of the FM some individuals say "you're not good enough" or something along those lines, completely ignoring the issue, which doesn't help at all...
  16. What about the behaviours when flying with asymmetric loads? I specifically asked a Harrier driver about this and he said he hardly ever notices it, although it gets a bit weird during the landing. Harrier in DCS almost stalls a wing if you rifle a missile or pickle a bomb.
  17. Oh that's a bummer. I hope you'll get it sorted out ASAP, love the Cold War server. Did you talk to ED about this, however? By the way, Alpen, is it possible to turn one of the current missions to be a night mission? With the moon in the sky (full moon), the visibility is still pretty good, you can see pretty much everything, especially afterburners! Also, the Command and Conquer mission has a bit of an issue with the ATC, the blue AWACS frequency is the same as Krasnodar airfield, and sometimes it gets jammed due to the traffic on the runway.
  18. You can try this as well, not sure if it works with AMD that well, I don't remember getting any boost from this doing when I had AMD, but you never know. I get about 10~ to almost 20 FPS sometimes. https://youtu.be/ibZfXboNMxks
