  1. Supercruise implies in flying at supersonic speeds without the need of afterburner to maintain that speed with a useful loadout, not a clean airframe, an F-16, for example, can maintain supersonic speeds as long as you use AB to break through the sound barrier. Regarding the Mach number, IIRC that's the indicated Mach number on the HUD, the speed of sound at 31,000 ft during the winter is going to be different than the one at sea level. It's a function of temperature.
  2. There is! :)
  3. Right on!
  4. That wasn't my question but yeah, I know it's done this way... My question was more directed at ED, that wasn't clear enough I guess.
  5. If that's the case, how on earth can you change the laser CODE via cockpit?
  6. AFAIK it means more GPU use and less CPU, so I guess that's the case generally speaking?
  7. Very impressive!
  8. Indeed, got SSDs a few weeks ago, what a huge difference! No 10 minutes loadings and stutterings.
  9. I've Experienced an awful COMM jamming today, AWACS frequency was the same as Krasnodar airfield, the ATC was screaming "Enfield 1-4 Hold Position" the entire time, I couldn' even hear the AWACS callouts.
  10. +1 You can't even see the colors that well.
  11. Yep. Agreed, I have seen similar cases too. Sometimes you need more than two AIM-9s to take them down.
  12. Combined Arms has tons of issues, but the idea is great IMHO. I absolutely love the idea of air and ground operations together, in a study sim like DCS. It has indeed this potential, but CA needs to be improved dramatically. As well as the engine, net code, stability, performance and all that. Go to any big MP server with CA, controlling vehicles (moving from point A to B) causes significant FPS issues on these servers, that's why most of them have this prohibited. So in order to make use of this potential you need to improve these things first, as well as the AI.
  13. I was testing this out again and I noticed the Viggen doesn't have RPM lockup, this isn't simulated apparently, any idea how this works in the RL Viggen?
  14. I made a mistake, my procedures are following NATOPS accordingly, but I used the wrong procedure, which was the external air start. No ENG CRANK switch, just move the throttles to IDLE instead. Fixed.
  15. It was taken from the NATOPS. Take a look at it again. And yes, it makes sense.
  16. 1. BLEED AIR knob to OFF; 2. Right throttle to IDLE, with a minimum RPM of 15% N2. Then repeat the process for the second engine. If you're using APU, the startup procedure is the same as the one you'd use on the ground. If crossbleed is used instead; 1. Make sure the APU is off; 2. Cycle the BLEED AIR knob to NORM; 3. ENG CRANK switch to L or R; 4. Left or Right throttle to IDLE, with a minimum RPM of 15% N2.

    Switches

What about this when you click on the brightness switches/buttons? it's still there, RAZBAM! Over a year.

    HARM

HARM is apparently using old 3D model and textures? :(
  19. Having to use a flashlight in the middle of the day to see the cockpit switches? M-2000C pit is also very dark, Harrier as well, not as dark as the M-2000C however.
  20. I love flying the F-5E and AV-8B! I'm definitely an exception to that rule you mentioned. Though the A/G taskings are not very dynamic, it's pretty enjoyable, especially when there are MiG-21s around hunting you down. Every time I see AWACS callouts for bandits around me I pull up my AIM-9s and I try to find them, it's fun! Although I should extend distance between me and the bandit because a striker is always flying defensive. But I do like the challenge. I wish it was a bit more dynamic though, more options perhaps? Dunno, that requires a lot of work indeed.
  21. I agree. ED is moving in the right direction in terms of PR, keep it up! This interaction with the community is very much important during the development, release, and post-release! Don't forget that!
  22. That would be very cool indeed. One other thing as well, could you please update the briefing images with newer screenshots? Some of those images are still from the old DCS 1.5! I've been enjoying the server a lot!
  23. This is the kind of thing that DCS needs. Features, customizable items, without the need of .lua.
  24. Never heard of them too. Quite interesting indeed.
  25. Really looking forward to the dedicated server.
