  1. Awesome This was an amazing experience guys! Thanks for letting me be a part of it, pushing me, teaching me :smartass: and being amazing people in general. Watching the amount of work that was put into this project by several members, over such a long period in their free time is really impressive. Seeing the project finished is a dream come true.
  2. maybe they will, maybe they won't.. i don't see a problem with it either way i'm sorry.. This is DCS, it shouldn't have anything to do with genders..
  3. Yes, absolutely? You know why? i'm here to fly, not to be concerned about womens rights or equality between characters in DCS. edit: let me clarify, in DCS specifically, it is much more important for the game to work than it is for it to represent women just because someone wants it for political reasons. I find it hard to believe one can be offended because the characters are men or the voices are men.. i don't react the slightest to the fact that many characters and voices in other games are female..
  4. Forgive me, she might not have used that word when i come to think of it. But her arguments were towards DCS not representing women in-game, which is then interpreted as "sexist" of sorts.
  5. I think it is absolutely hilarious to attack DCS of all games to be "sexist".. The only way you can view DCS as sexist is if you don't know how to look at things with an open mind and only focus on things you have predetermined as "sexist". Examples of this is ATC, do you really think someone sat there and tought lets use a male voice becuase i don't like women? Let's say the F-18's audio warning system was played with a males voice (as a deliberate act), i guess that you could call sexism, but in fact.. it isn't.. It's a womans voice, just as it is irl. As far as the community goes it has nothing to do with the game itself, and that part is no different to any other online experience you'll find atm. I know for a fact that every woman i have met in this community has been shown much more respect than in most other games i've played (note i didn't say it's perfect..) I absolutely agree with everything regarding similar treatment regardless of any nationality, sex, colour or whatever it may be. That is a topic of being respectful, but being offended at everything because you can be is not something i support. Way too many are just looking to get triggered instead of actually caring about important things. If you can't enjoy DCS because [insert group of people] isn't represented in the game (as voice/character), then you might want to quit and spend more of your time on something called politics. It can't be expected that in the future you need to either have all of the worlds diversity in game or make every model so bland it doesn't represent anyone to remain "free" from sexist behaviour.
  6. Well i'm going from a warthog to a FFB2 :P can't deal with the stiction anymore.. as well as feeling dead.
  7. I was like, hmm.. i've bought nearly all DCS modules so far, maybe i could spend some of that bonus to buy the GPS NS-430 thing (since i'm really not interested, and i buy all new planes on pre-purchase anyways).. but there goes that plan - "Your bonus account balance $59.00, You can use $4.00 to pay current order.".. Thanks, no thanks.
  8. How is the weight of the MCG? i see it's plastic, maybe it could work for a FFB2 project..
  9. I can see a place for aerobatics in DCS, as that part of flying is not covered well (does not feel right) in x-plane of FSX. But for GA aviation like a 172 i think it's pretty rediculus.. Why would anyone choose to fly a 172 in DCS over either FSX or x-plane? They literally do anything DCS can do in that area better.. Only reason aerobatics are better in DCS is because of the multiplayer and flight model.
  10. Just want to make the apperance here.. notifying that there is large interest :) just got a 3d printer and looking for projects ;)
  11. please don't tell me this update was because of this thread.. i have not seen a single prooving evidence in this thread at all. people just saying it should have "higher inertia".. why? because the other guy said it should..
  12. Well..expected 100%.. More interested in wether ryzen 1600 is a good upgrade for dcs from a 3570k (thinking about the vr experience..)
  13. From what i've heard it should run just fine now that it's dx11... i heard lot's of complaints from friends in the old DCS versions, but now they're running fine.
  14. rather, a modern variant would be a 100% purchase for me :) im not sure how simple that would be, i expect alot of changes to cockpit model and nearly all systems would be required, but maybe not that much on external model.. who knows.. i wish them good luck. and i hope the mig-21 will stay strong, definately one of my favorite modules
  15. i mean.. the 1700 is freaking brilliant compared to a i7 7700k at the price in everything but gaming performance. where everything is very unstable anyways with BIOS updates supposedly fixing ram problems and overall a ~20% performance increase.. and in pretty much any other scenario than pure gaming the 1700 beats it, and it also comes with a stock aircooler supposedly able to clock the thing just fine up to around ~3.9 Ghz at ~.25-.35v (.35 being AMD safe voltage limit)
  16. AMD cpu's have been soldered for quite a while, including Ryzen. and while clocks are quite important, they're not everything. people are already getting 4.0 overclocks on air with 1700's which is damn good for an 8c16t.
  17. many are dissapointed in the launch, im certinly not.. it's looking to be what i hoped for, and im certinly in no hurry.. i'll wait some time, at least for the 6c12t to launch before i decide. looks great for my use anyways. even holds up really well in games.. (depending on what benches you look at, so yea.. i'll wait a while. someone stated a bios update the last days improved the perf by 20% and that things are still pretty buggy. it seems like a really good purchase, especially the 1700)
  18. Not official AMD graph:
  19. Ryzen master - overclocking tool for ryzen supposedly has the ability to have diferent profiles for overclocking on the CPU and disabeling pairs of cores i believe. so if you have 8 core you can disable cores to make it 6, 4, 2 for supposedly better overclocking if that is needed for certain applications.
  20. yea, that's pretty much expected. but they have overshot their initial goal, and it should be around haswell single thread performance? still pretty good for games, and certinly shows potential for the lineup as a whole.. the overclockers also got all the 8 cores of the 1800x up to 5.1ghz or something on ln2 and set a new record in cinebench.. makes me wonder what we can expect to see on water, maybe as high as 4.5?. Especially on lower core cpu's, like the 1400x, 1600x etc. or overclocking single cores of teh processor, it might possibly be quite competitive. personally i'm pretty "hyped", the single core performance would be an upgrade either way for me, and the overall performance of all the current chips they have shown is incredibly good.
  21. What kind of overclock? because all graphs show the 1600 beating it by quite a bit in cinebench.. except for single core perf ofc edit: ah, 5.0.. well, it has a lead at the moment without any overclock.. it will depend on how well it overclocks, it's a 6 core, so probably worse but maybe you can overclock a single core or something to get more out of it.
  22. it looks as though that the ryzen we saw at display by AMD earlier in their tests is actually the 1700x and not the 1800x.. that would be insanely impressive at it's price.. ~70-80% faster at 50$ more over the i7 7700k, or "1700x (1537 Cinebench) seems to be 85% performance of 6950X (1790 Cinebench) at 25% of its price"
  23. Viggen isbgoing to be nttr or caucasus? Really eager to try this out :P
  24. To say one is simply straight faster than the other is a load of crap. With both of them being so close in performance it is really not much of a factor. As for drivers, i think the latest AMD driver had a bug but other than that i think it's been overall as solid as Nvidia the past 1 or 2 years. At least if we're talking Windows. No-one can decide for you at the moment if it's worth to wait for next gen.. That is really up to you, depending on how long you can hold out with the gpu that you have :P
  25. 110% good decition either way i'd say.. I believe the difference between nvidia and amd in DCS dx11 is pretty much like most other dx 11 games. I have seen over the past months since launch that rx 480 has pulled back some of the difference and pulled ahead quite often. And even when you look at things past the gpu themselves they're quite equal now that AMD has ReLive.. thing would be if you're going to get a Gsync or freesync monitor (where i'd personally say a AMD + freesync monitor would brobably be better for your pocket). I don't think you can go wrong either way, one thing to keep in mind is that AMD has had a reputation of supporting older gen GPU's (recieving perf updates) for a long time, which has made the 7970 guite better than it's rivals over time (i hope that was the 7970) (i can't think of any advantages for the 1060 to make this comment less one-sided, but you know.. we're talking small differences, it's probably a little faster in DCS. I'd say get what's cheaper :P) Just want to add, you'll probably still have low frames every now and then even with a better GPU, im running GTX 1080 in 1920x1080 and still have dips in mp to around 30-40fps..
