[NOTED] Crazy spin on when taxiing with parachute.
Farlander replied to Farlander's topic in Flight Dynamics
im sorry, didn't see the reply. will the track file still be there? -
i'm sorry if it sounded like i think it's a copy/paste job.... what i tried to say is that for the average consumer that is going to buy it, it looks like it's the same aircraft just withe some minor differences here and there.... i know developing this stuff takes time and effort...

I understand that from a devlopers poit of view it's two completely different aircraft. but for most people I've talked to the two planes are basically the same to them, and there are two main problems. 1. The aircraft is a trainer/light attack capabilities for the CC, and isn't really that good as a combat airplane as many others are. and we already have the hawk and a l-39 with multi-crew coming up. 2. The price is higher than the hawk (that also has light attack capabilities), and most likely more expensive than ED's upcoming L-39. Edit: this is not to complain about the price... the current deal we have is fantastic... im just stating that while it's two completely different planes to model, most of us others will still say that it's one version that is un-armed, and one that is armed. it's not like one of the models is a F-86 and the other one is a MiG-15..... they're still the same aircraft.... C-101

One thing that needs to be changed is that if you start a roll, it will continue that roll even after you center the stick.

For the 40 dollars right now it's a great deal! but i think that the normal price (60$) is too much personally. In my opinion it's too simple of an aircraft to be placed that high. And even argument that it's two aircraft doesn't really make so much sense to me. yes, its two aircraft versions..... but the airframe is basically the same. maybe there are some differences in engine and systems, but most of it is still the same.... i think that the second aircraft would add up to the overall complexity of it, and i would happily pay 50$ for it like the others. but 60 for something that is not nearly as complex as the A-10C and the MiG-21Bis ill have to say it would be a no, and i would save my money to spend on the L-39 from ed that is going to have AFM from the start.

yes, but i can feel it in the air that release is "imminent™" Farlander does not take responsability for any jokes about release dates. Use at own risk. :music_whistling:

Information on the MiG-15Bis variant we are getting in game can now be seen on the DCS store. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/products/mig15bis/ Looking glorious Belsimtek!
-
that's cool, we are getting the OSP-48! nice work on the MiG, Belsimtek. looking forward to flying it.

No, this is somewhat true, and somewhat false. It is true that the SPO-2 was not a thing that was mounted on alot of MiG-15Bis's. But there were a few of them that had it to see if it was a good idea to have them added to see if they were to good use. however it did not get included as a standard thing until the MiG-17. This is kind of like the Anti-skid, braking parachute, all weather modified MiG-15's. While only a few MiG-15Bis's were fitted out with these modifications, but they were still fully combat operational. I am not saying we will get this stuff, i'm saying that they existed.
-
Is it such a big deal? we have way too much spare time if we complain about a plane for a game being released a few days later than planned...
-
I don't really know. but i do know that it was featured in quite alot of the MiG-15Bis production aircraft... Some were fitted with it and some were not. just like a small number of MiG-15Bis's were fitted with anti-skid and braking chute. I guess we will just have to wait and see, because there are so many modifications that were added to some of the planes, while the plane itself remained with the same MiG-15Bis name. if you want to see some of the stuff that might be featured (or might not be featured) you can check my thread/post about it. should give you a clearer picture. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2293858&postcount=1

So, this is the problem. Flying the MiG-21 with my friend today, i noticed on landing that when i tried to power up and turn, my aircraft went into a crazy spin. my friend also did this and managed to recreate it. This is how it happened. on landing i switched braking mode to landing, but decided to just use the chute instead. i came to an stop at a bit of an angle and wanted to straighten up. I forgot to drop the chute. i held down the brake and applied right rudder. i was turning crazy to the left. i throttled down, and saw that my brakes were still in landing mode... that's the problem i tought, and i throtteled back up again holding the brake... and it still just did this wierd 360 on a dime thing. and that's when i realized it was a bug :P i put of all brakes and gave it max throttle without breaking the chute... :joystick: and man does the MiG-21 spin!!! it's freaking glorious.. finally a aircraft that you can spin around with less than one meter clearance on all sides :P i can see this "feature" being wery useful when having to turn around when you are stuck in a corner... (although i cant remember any time i've been stuck in a corner...) but yea. if you want to recreate.. land your airplane and put it to a stop, then turn and power on carefully so you dont break the chute. have fun bugfixing :D also, pls fix gsh-23 gun sound being stuck on.... it kind of hurts my ears... really like the mig-21 though! keep up the great work

Personally i like the AGI-1 better, but that's just me. But im completely fine with the AGK-47B if changing it to the AGI-1 would make you guys have to change alot of the arrangement and stuff

The big improvements in production MiG-15Bis vs MiG-15 were: - New VK-1/RD-45F engine (slight difference in form factor so minor adjustments to fuselage. RD-45 was the initial copy of the Rolls-Royce Nene, and was devloped into the RD-45F that was further delvloped into the VK-1) - Hydraulically-assisted ailerons. Further improvements to some of the MiG-15Bis in production. - NS-23 cannon was replaced after a while with NP-23 cannons firing alot faster. (NS-23 - 550 rpm, 690 m/s. NR-23 - 800-850 rpm, 690 m/s) - Cockpit with improvements to viewing. - Cockpit pressurizaton bleed for Gee suit. - Sirena-2 (RWR). - Better dive breaks. - More cockpit armor. - A engine self-starting system. - And a some were built with Anti-skid and braking-chute. But heres some interesting Modifications and variants they tested: MiG-15UTI - Trainer. MiG-15BisP - Five MiG-15's built with the Toriy radar. - Radar was too difficult to use and it proved itself very unreliable. MiG-15Bis All weather - 2 MiG-15Bis aircrafte were fitted with OSP-48, ARK-5, MRP-48, RV-2 (Low altitude radar altimeter) - Some were produced and 16 MiG-15Bis's were modified and used successfully in combat. MiG-15Bis RP-1 Izumrud Modification. - Used the RP-1 Izumrud radar instead that was less complicated than the Toriy (The RP-1 Izumrud was basically a radar gunsight) - It consisted of two radars. A search radar, and a tracking radar. - Armament was reduced to 23mm cannons. MiG-15BisS - Escort fighter with extra fuel (modified wings to hold 600L instead of the 400L tanks). And extra oxygen for the pilot. - doubled the endurance. - 49 Built in 1951. MiG-15BisR - Reconnissance aircraft. - Replaced one of the 23mm cannons with a camera. - 600L fuel tanks. - 364 Built. MiG-15Bis modified with SRD-3 Grad. - Copy of F-86's AN/APG-30. - Only one aircraft built as it showed itself to be inferior to the Izumrud. izdeliye SU - MiG-15 modified with a pivoting Shpitalny Sh-3 23 millimeter cannon. - Could pivot 11 degrees up, and 7 degrees down. - Were aimed with a sight that had automatic target tracking. - Testing was done in 1951 and had potential, but did not go into production. MiG-15bis-ISh - Ground attack aircraft. - 12 built, but was ended because of another ground attack aircraft was being built. Burlaki - Tu-4 towing project - MiG-15Bis fighters would be towed after the Tu-4 bomber with engines off to provide escort on long missions. - worked, but was dropped because the pilot would freeze and it was hard to find the bomber and link up again Air-refueling - In 1953 some MiG-15Bis's were modified to be refueled by the Tu-4 with Hose-and-drogue. This proved to Be a better solution than the burlaki. Ejection seats - Some MiG-15UTI Trainers were modified with an ejection seat. - One test involved using the canopy to clamp down over seat to protect the pilot. This method was used on early production MiG-21 fighters. MiG-15M/Msh -Target drones. Czech MiG-15's - PPZ-1 Blind landing system. - some were made into target tugs. - Converted to use RATO. - One was converted to carry the K-13 missile. - Runway De-icer  Polish MiG-15's (LIM-1/LIM2) - Some converted to trainers. SBLIM-1/SBLIM-2. - Outraged by the gloriousness of what the czech did, they made some into a railway de-icer. :megalol: Chinese MiG-15's - Surprisingly the Chinese did not build any MiG-15 fighters themself, they only made the JJ-2 (MiG-15UTI). If you see something wrong, tell me and i will fix it :)

Next DCS (European) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
Farlander replied to Busterbvi's topic in DCS Core Wish List
SAAB J-29 "Tunnan" so... with the whole Sabre and MiG thing going on... do you guys think the SAAB J-29 "Tunnan" would fit in? slower climbrate than the MiG-15 and Sabre but still the same top speed as the MiG. And all the later F versions were modified to carry AIM-9's. Hello Swedish people, greetings from Norway ;) -
I agree, it might be hard to find a place for it currently. But i think if the MiG was to be added, the MiG-25 might be better suited for DCS out of the two anyways. since the MiG-25 is single seat while the MiG-31 is a dual seater where (i think) only the co-pilot has the radar screen. when i think about it though, it would be fun going out flying with one of your friends being the navigator :P less work for you to do..

I want to see how many people on here would actually be interested in a MiG-25 (thinking the MiG-31 would be a "little" bit hard to get data on atm..). And if you would like one in-game, what model would it be? I tought i would bring my topic here because i think leatherneck did an amazing job on making the MiG-21, and i really hope they keep bringing us some good old russian aircrafts to (try) to fly. :joystick: i love having lot's of buttons to press :D
