  1. I like DCS World as a combat flight simulator. But that said, it would be great fun flying around a Cessna Skyhawk in it. Imagine trying to dodge F-16 Fighting Falcons as they plunge out of the sky, flying low and slow over the ground!
  2. "Luke, at that point will we be able to pull out in time?" "It'll be just like the Highway Of Death back home!" :megalol:
  3. I see. That's very disappointing then. I hope they'll include it in a future update. If they do, that'll be what I'm looking for, but it looks like I'll need to find something that'll function for now as an interim measure.
  4. Thanks. I don't use FRAPS, unfortunately. I only have OBS at the moment. I like to try to save my videos so I can upload my highlights or do recordings though. My encoding settings are as follows: http://i.imgur.com/JGtP6BP.jpg And my video settings are: http://i.imgur.com/zUZYUrT.jpg Lastly, my capture settings are: http://i.imgur.com/XwknD0K.jpg
  5. Thanks guys. I have been having problems with OBS, for some reason. It crashes the game, even when I'm running both DCS World and OBS as Administrator. I've looked all over for a fix for it, but haven't found a solution yet. I run a three-monitor setup, but for some reason, whenever I try to turn on Shadowplay, it gives me a little circle with a red strikethrough through it. Does anyone else have this problem? Edited to add: I've updated to the latest certified driver. Still seems to be a problem, I can't get the overlay to work. The menu wants me to press ten different ctrl keys simultaneously to get the layout to appear and I can't unset it without it wanting me to press ten of the same keys simultaneously. It looks like Shadowplay's not an option if it's this buggy. Edited again to add: Looks like I can't use MSI Predator to capture it, don't think my card is supported. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting OBS to work with this? I use Windows 8.1, GIGABYTE GTX 770 4GB, i7 4770k, 16GB RAM. I will have to check out MSI Afterburner!
  6. If they put in an A6M Zero, I would really, really hope that they would put in something like a flyable F4U Corsair or an F6F Hellcat in to fight with it, so that way we can have WWII Navy Battles! There's already America versus Bf109s and Fw190s, so having two more from the other side of the globe would be a fantastic choice.
  7. I've been trying to see if I can record DCS World to stream and to save. I have had some compatibility problems using Open Broadcast Software and Nvidia Shadowplay with DCS World, so what would you guys suggest I use? Thank you very much.
  8. Thanks. Having the glideslope indicator on the HUD really helps, although that's a bit of a pity that I can't get the Optical Landing System to work the way it should. I will use the ILS for now. Much appreciated!
  9. Hello, I really love to fly the Su-33 and carrier land, but I have a problem: I can't get the optical landing system to turn on! I radio the carrier for an inbound, request the landing a couple kilometres out, and fly in for an overhead or break-turn approach, but then can't see the optical landing system and there's no landing signals officer for the talk-down, so I have to land on guesswork by using the deck of the carrier as a reference instead of flying the ball the proper way, which isn't very safe or reliable. After getting onto the carrier, sometimes I turn on the external camera and look around, and usually see the datum lights on. But on approach, even as close as ten seconds in the groove, sometimes I've paused the game to switch to a view of the ship so I can see the optical landing system, but there are no lights on it, not even the datum lights are on. Any help will be appreciated! Thank you.
  10. Wow! I never would've thought of that... that one step fixed so much. I can bump up a few of the graphics settings and the game actually runs very smoothly now, provided I don't get too close to a city with lots of objects on it, or start firing the machine guns. I'll try to bump the clock speed up a little bit, but right now I am on the stock cooler on a bit of a limited budget at this very moment - I can't afford to fry the chip so I won't be able to increase it by much :(. Thank you so much! Huh, gotcha. If it's only a few more months, I can definitely wait, and hope. I hear that the DCS engine is actually a little dated, so I'm hoping they'll update that for multi-core use, it doesn't seem like the clock speeds are getting that higher, although it seems like tacking on more cores is the way things are going. Great idea, I ran the test, just like you said. With the mode set to full-screen, things between one monitor and three monitors actually don't seem to get that different. They both seem to slow down about the same amount for the same thing. All in all, it looks like I seem to slow down the most when firing guns (Maybe it's all those particle effects?) or when I get close to lots of buildings. I can bump the graphics up a little bit, but the problems seem to persist when I'm near objects or firing guns. Wonder if it's my CPU slow clock speed being the bottleneck?
  11. Hello, I've been having a few problems with poor performance on DCS World. Currently, I haven't been able to get above 30 frames per second even with all the graphics options turned down to LOW, all the traffic off and all the sliders set to minimum value and Antialiasing turned off, and only when flying over empty terrain with no clouds. The cockpit is set to 256, and everything looks about as terrible as I can make it with the exception of the resolution, which is native. Currently, my setup is as follows: i7-4770k @ 3.5Ghz (Hyperthreading is on, if that counts for anything) GIGABYTE GTX770+ 4GB VRAM 16GB RAM 2133MHz Windows 8.1 Ultimate. Monitors set at 5760x1080p (I have three, they're running on Nvidia Surround) When landing or taxiing, even with no other aircraft around, the performance usually drops to around 20-15 Frames Per Second. If I turn up the graphics any higher, the game slows down even more. On the other hand, I can run other games quite well, including CrYsis and X-Plane 10 quite easily with the graphics looking great. I'm not sure what else I should do. Would you have any suggestions? Thank you.
