    The Radio?

    Apparently so! :megalol:

    The Radio?

I must be getting daft in my old age. The Mission Editor says I can set four radio channels (presumably set to pushbuttons), but I cannot for the life of my find where these buttons are in the cockpit, nor can I interact with either ATC, or wingman. I was on Normandy map and Caucasus map, if that matters. I found the radio switch easily enough, but no actual radio controls. I tried easy comms, and non-easy comms, still no dice. What am I missing here?
  3. This is the BEST news I have heard all day! WOW!!
  4. 30+ Tomcats????? Where was MY invite? LOL! Good news Heatblur. My body is ready. #CatOrRiot
  5. Oh good, I thought it was just me. Yeah, flashing black boxes in either eye, at first I thought was maybe the lens flare messing up, or the mirrors reflecting something that is not rendering. So far has affected the MiG-21, the Christen Eagle II, and the Viggen. Using Rift. Set water to low, turned on global cockpit lighting, turned off lens flares, nothing stopped it.
  6. Checking in, same issue as of last hotfix. Still unusable in the bottom half of my screen. I can change resolutions, but no way to push OK to confirm it.
  7. Home stretch... I knew you could do it boys, and I know it will NOT let me down!!!
  8. Dang that is a night and day difference... Ok so always align! Got it.
  9. Ooooh hearing Jester for the first time put a HUGE grin on my face... Of course my first "what if", is what if Jester were female. What would she sound like? hmmmm. (This could become an interesting experiment)
  10. Waiting with bated breath. My RIO is already on notice that he better start reading up.
  11. So far in 2.5 OB, I have noticed an issue inside two helos- Mi-8 and Gazelle. The canopy creates a strange reflective artifact, that appears to affect things like the start screen before you fly, chat subtitles at the top of the screen, and the kneeboard. I have a picture attached. This also extends to Black sea water reflections, as seen from inside the cockpit. I have noticed it in VR (Rift) primarily, but since the picture is a 2D picture, my assumption is it appears in 2D as well. Additional note, may or may not be related. During rain, the drops appear to go straight through the forward canopy, in VR. Only noticed in Mi-8 Hip. I have not noticed issues with the Huey or Blackshark.
  12. Something is definitely wrong, both on Normandy and on Nevada, I end up waiting about 10 minutes or so for AI wingmen to takeoff. Even if I call the tower and get clearance, then launch, they taxi into position and that is that for now. They just sit there on full throttle, with nozzles at the 0 position, with no attempt to roll. They then take off vertically from the runway, and slowly make their way to me, but only after I have left the area and either called for them to rejoin, or to cover me. Normandy is particularly bad because they taxi to runway, then crash into each other (usually #2 and #3) number four of course is stuck behind the wreckage and will never launch. If I set my flight to begin in the air, they are ok, but where is the fun in that. I love the start up and taxi.
  13. (Puts on reading glasses) Ok, give me a few before the next update. I will get back to you with questions.
  14. Well that explains that. I was trying to get my Spetsnaz onboard for some fun in Gelendzhik, but no dice. I guess they were getting airsick with my flying and went on strike.
  15. i still cannot get past the first mission. Those Hinds won't answer me.
  16. Well there was that one video where Wags said "What are those F/A-18s doing there?" Usually that is a hint... Last time he said that was about the F-5E... during the video of the Mirage I think.
  17. Glad to have you onboard, sir. We'll get you squared away in no time, shooting down enemies like nobody's business!
  18. I tried "equally responsible" on Sunday with my buddy and I can say in 1.5 it did not work for us. I do not know about 2, since I do not have that yet. I was able to get him to have full control however by setting it to pilot and me in the back seat. I also retained control when the aircraft was set to instructor, and he was still in the front seat. On the "always ask" option, we could not find any keyboard shortcut for that?
  19. If you take a look at the description.lua file it lists the major texture files it uses. It will say true or false to determine which ones it uses what is in the folder, or what it pulls from the default. Once you have made your texture files you can name them what you want, because you are going to replace the originals in the texture folder with your new textures. You gotta make sure your textures are named properly in that description file, cause it will look for those specific names. (What I did was make a copy of the folder i wanted to put my new livery in, and renamed the appropriate files, then copied those names into the cfg file exactly where the old names they replaced are.) Example- {"L-39_MAIN_N_N", 0 ,"L39ZA_DIFF_CZECH_AF",false}; (which is the main body skin) I replaced with {"L-39_MAIN_N_N", 0 ,"aggressor",false}; Make sure the new textures added are set to FALSE. In the example above I used the aggressor skins which were set to L-39C, and made them for L-39ZA.
  20. The biggest thing that drew me to this aircraft is that it is one I REALLY want to learn how to fly in real life (if ever I can find someone who owns one and lives in western Pennsylvania). That being said, I have tried to become proficient enough so I can at least pass on what I have learned. So far I have not run into too many others who want to fly it with me. I just love the aircraft though, so I will fly it solo all day long if need be.
  21. I'm actually thinking of testing this theory this evening with my buddy. I'll let you know how well it works.
  22. Welp, guess I will be catching it on Youtube then... Unless it plans on flying to Pittsburgh, PA.
  23. Yeah Bird Dog... definitely one of the FAC / Observer aircraft.
  24. Ah what a thing of pixelated beauty! This is going to be so epic.
  25. Of the ones I have, my favorites are the following: Flaming Cliffs 3- so many planes plus Russian carrier ops. What's not to love. Not to mention it includes the Eagle and Flanker, which I also have separately (bought before I bought FC3) Mi-8 Hip- I LOVE Big Bertha! She does not try to kill me nearly as much as the Huey does. L-39- Of all the DCS aircraft this is the one I would most want to fly in real life if given the opportunity. I know MOST of the aircraft's systems and how it is flown just from spending so much time simming with it in various sims. Most anticipated releases- F-14 Tomcat, Harrier, and CARRIER OPS!
