  1. I didn't know this. Thank you. I think it should be the default behaviour for all ground units, as should dispersal under fire
  2. I think it would just be so cool if after the initial dispersion from coming under fire, they then continued to evade - even retreating in some cases. This would add much immersion when flying the A-10 and some of the helicopters.
  3. Hard to remain positive? Seriously bad? Really? Have you people suffered any genuine adversity in your life at all? Have some bloody perspective!
  4. But, how does the ED team plan to use this extra bandwidth to improve the behaviour of the ground units? It would be great to see them act in a more believable manner rather than combat resembling a target range.
  5. Sorry for wasting anyone's time ; I'd not installed the mod fully
  6. Can anybody help me with the following error for the Apache mbot: Generating First Mission. E:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\luae.exe: ../../../ScriptsMod.NG/UTIL_ResetCampaign.lua:24: module 'Init/radios_freq_compatible' not found: no field package.preload['Init/radios_freq_compatible'] no file '.\Init/radios_freq_compatible.lua' no file 'E:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\lua\Init/radios_freq_compatible.lua' no file 'E:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\lua\Init/radios_freq_compatible\init.lua' no file 'E:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\Init/radios_freq_compatible.lua' no file 'E:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\Init/radios_freq_compatible\init.lua' no file '.\lua-Init/radios_freq_compatible.dll' no file '.\Init/radios_freq_compatible.dll' no file 'E:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\lua-Init/radios_freq_compatible.dll' no file 'E:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\Init/radios_freq_compatible.dll' stack traceback: [C]: in function 'require' ../../../ScriptsMod.NG/UTIL_ResetCampaign.lua:24: in main chunk [C]: in function 'dofile' ..\..\..\ScriptsMod.NG\BAT_FirstMission.lua:375: in main chunk [C]: ? 7. I would be very grateful if somebody could provide me with an actual pre-made mission for Syria and Caucus as I am unable to. Does anybody have them lying around they could upload? For some reason the Syria mission from the Github page doesn't show up in DCS as a mission within the library which is odd - the South atlantic one from page 9 on this thread does though. Strange!
  8. Have you had chance to update your copy of DCS lately? My base game has changed rather significantly in the last few weeks.
  9. Have just purchased The Persian gulf (on sale) Prior to the latest MT update, I had no intention of purchasing this map. But if DCS are going to potentially save me £600 in a GPU upgrade through some seriously diligent programming then I'd like to support that. When the ground AI improvements come out (which I hope can be manifested more fully due to the extra bandwidth we now have to play with) I'll buy up any other modules I've not got. Thanks DCS
  10. It's exciting to see developments taking place in regards to infantry behaviour. I think this has become more important since the advent of the Apache; people don't want a firing range they want to go up against - at least the illusion of - a seemingly intelligent adversary who has the desire to survive under fire.
  11. It really is. The system has so much potential that is currently going unrealised due to AI behaviour.
  12. Given that there have been no significant advances in the games ground level AI as far as I know, I make no apologies for resurrecting this thread. I simply wished to know if the above file / adjustments would still work with the latest version of DCS. Does anybody know? It would be even better if anyone else could chip in with their own suggestions on how to make the ground AI behave in a realistic manner. Thanks!
  13. I think that the dispersion that you mention isn't dramatic enough. I wonder if people agree with the following: Units should disperse more widely and more randomly. They should pop smoke. They should rout completely sometimes.
  14. Is this a typical reaction for ground units under fire say in an instant action mission or a mission that has been generated? Or, does it need to be actively specified in the mission editor?
  15. Alongside the inception of the Apache into the DCS lineup should also be at least a reasonable improvement in infantry / small arms / jeep ai. Even if a cluster of enemies was to disperse in a random NESW direction when they detect incoming fire it would hugely add to the immersion. I don't expect to see infantry taking cover behind objects or genuinely adopting safer positions; just the illusion that they are would totally suffice. As much as I love DCS right now, infantry / BMP's just loitering until your next staffing pass simply won't cut it.
  16. Thank you for all your help today.
  17. I think I fixed it: I didn't need the c:zusers/harvey bit....sorry! Now it seems to work
  18. When I now try to skip a mission - the same mission is generated each time. Every time it is the same mission... However, if I run firstmission.bat it generates a different one! I can see in the folder there is an "ongoing.miz' but it's like the game reverts back to the 'firstmission'miz Whenever I exit the mission I get the following error:
