I think it should work fine in VR as it works in MSFS

DCS only uses OpenXR API, it doesn't know anything about your headset and OpenXR runtime (the motion smoothing is processed there). I suppose you have a WMR headset, so it's the responsibility of Microsoft to fix that. Afaik, mbucchia is working on improvements (more info: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/openxr-toolkit-upscaling-world-scale-hand-tracking-release-thread/493924, https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/motion-reprojection-explained/548659).

Please correct me if I'm wrong: Do both Pico 4 SA and VD not have OpenXR runtime, but they rely on either the Oculus app or SteamVR to get already processed frames (similar to WMR for SteamVR)? Is there any news if they're going to implement it themselves?

Yes, PCVR is dying, my only hope is Valve with their Deckard headset but I'm not sure when it will be released, it is not even announced yet. The other small PCVR companies can't really compete in terms of the software stack, it's quite expensive to support it when having cash flow only from niche customer hardware sales. Valve can at least get money from PCVR games sales.

Pico 4 has pancake lenses with a much larger sweet spot but there is a latency due to the WiFi connection. I'm not sure about Pimax, I've heard that the software side is not good.

If you don't have the budget for both 4090 and Aero, I'd suggest going with 4090 + Pico 4

It works the same way as OpenComposite - catching and overriding game calls to OpenXR, so the game receives the correct predicted display time.

It's so funny to see some guys calling others, who are trying to discuss the future of their game, "forumites waving brochures". On the topic, I worked in a game dev company as an SWE and I know it's hard to find a good (hence expensive) one for whom you'll have to give them a lot more time to learn your in-house engine and tools compared to others. If you are not Ubisoft, Rockstar, or someone else with a big stash of money, it's hard to keep up with other engines. So there are not only visual aspects of the new engine, it's also about tools and support. But being realistic, there are probably stakeholders who won't be happy if they will have to pay for yet another engine upgrade if they don't have direct competitors right now.

Same in Mi8 campaign. I have to skip those missions manually in the logbook config for now -
Turned off SSLR and no crashes so far. Thank you!

Looks like you have a real problem with video memory management. I have 10700k, 32gb, 3080 and the game eats all of GPU memory. It's fine if it manages memory internally correct but I got random crashes (most of them at aircraft startup) and when I switch the cam to very distant aircraft in multiplayer. dcs.log-20210109-224509.zip dcs.log-20210110-130128.zip dcs.log-20210110-133106.zip

Будет ли в скором времени мультиэкипаж по типу L-39? Сетевой код, получается, уже позволяет это сделать. -

Насколько я помню, такое есть на сервере КВП (Клуб Весёлых Пилотов). Самые нижние слоты Ми-8.
