  1. Whilst I'd love to see a A-4K Skyhawk (as that was what we in New Zealand had prior to our government scrapping their replacement and the whole air combat wing in general), I would be quite happy with the F-4E Phantom as it is a fast and capable Vietnam-era jet and would be a perfect rival to the MIG-21Bis whilst still remaining a viable threat to modern air and ground units. In additon, it can also take Anti-ground Maverick missiles, Sidewinders, Sparrows, a fair variaty of bombs and a variety of Anti-radation missiles. It would also be an AWESOME multiplayer jet as it is a two-seater jet so you can have your multirole version of Maverick and Goose in this historic fighter ;)
  2. I know your feeling mate. Here in NZ the day is not too far from being over! :helpsmilie:
  3. I really hope it's a SU-24 (any variant IDC) as that is my dream DCS vehicle :) . DCS needs a fast dual seat all-weather attack aircraft that can attack ships and do SEAD missions. The only SEAD/Anti-Ship vehicle really in DCS is the SU-25 (including the T variant) which is NOT at all designed for that role as it is just too slow and susceptible to AA missiles. Also the dual seat capability of the SU-24 would make MP attack missions more fun and somewhat easier (as to have a designated pilot and weapons operator). The SU-24 is also quite similar to the MiG-23 but can take more than just Air-to-air missiles.
  4. AWESOME! Can't wait for the release of the C-101CC and it's subsequent Steam release! So how does the Sea Eagle work on the CC and what targets can it hit/destroy?
  5. I would personally go for the C-101 for two reasons. Firstly, you get two quite different aircraft for nearly the same price as the T1A Hawk. You get the EB variant which, when multi-seat capability comes out, can be an excellent acrobatic/formation flying advanced trainer. You also get the light-attack/weapons CC variant with a similar core system set out and new stuff to learn and experiment around with. Another reason why the C-101 is the better choice IMHO is that it has a total of 6 under-wing hard point (1 center with 3 on each wing) pylons as opposed to the T1A's which only has 4 (1 center with 2 under-wing on each wing). This means that you could train and attack with 2 more weapons at once in the C-101 CC. Also the T1A can only use rocket pods, practice/armed bombs and AIM9L Air-to-air missiles. The C-101CC can use all of that (note that the C-101 uses a more recent AIM9 variant, the AIM9M of which is slightly more powerful) and the Sea Eagle Anti-Sea missile which will help increase both training and actual SP and MP mission-role capabilities rather than it being a rather limited light-attack aircraft. Admittedly, the Hawk T1A (due to its wing design) has a higher max speed but the C-101 has a greater flight range (which means that you do not need to fly at max 100% fuel if you care about speed). Overall, I think these training aircraft (C-101, T1A Hawk and soon to come L39) are exciting additions to DCS World as they can help newcomers get into standard flying protocol (especially with multi-seat capability hopefully coming in DCS World 2) especially if playing with other players (i.e. Having actual pilot and trainee training lessons with multi-seat MP).
  6. Didn't the Chilean Air Force have a different HUD onboard (along with a special Intertial Guidence System)?
  7. There was a proposed (with, I believe, several early prototypes being built) variant called the P4T which would have operated very similarly to the normal Anti-Sea variant. The P4T was not TV guided but used a shorter range but higher power millimetre range radar-seeker head which allowed a constant in-flight data link for high precision to attack ground targets. This variant is also similar to the normal ASM Sea Eagle as it is fire-and-forget and does not require any additional on-board equipment (i.e. The aircraft does not require a long range radar, as the Sea Eagle already has one built in). I can't seem to find any specifics/English websites on this variant but I will continue to search anyways :smilewink:
  8. EVGA GTX 780 SC'ed ACX edition cooling. Runs really nice in DCS.
  9. Thanks for your reply :) I was wondering about adding air to air missiles on the outer pylons (with the missiles) as I'm incharge of training my small virtual air combat/acrobatic squad (basically just some of my mates and I) and this seems like the perfect aircraft for training our squad for acrobatics and weekly combat MP missions. I was just wondering, are the Sea Eagles only compatible in the center of the three pylons (on each wing)? Because it would be hugely beneficial if we could train 2 different weapons at once (i.e Sea Eagles on most inner pylon and AIM9L's on most outer pylons) for maximum training effieceny (and fun too, because who doesn't love blowing up ships!). Nonetheless, keep up the good work :smilewink:
  10. I'd most like to see the Su-24 M2. DCS needs a good cold war era SEAD, Anti-Ship and supersonic Anti-Ground aircraft (as the Su-25 doesn't cut it for true SEAD or Anti-Ship missions). It is also a dual seat aircraft which would be a fun and extremely useful addition to the multiplayer (as we all know the often struggle of flying a plane while setting up weapon systems at the last minute :smilewink: ).
  11. I would love to see a NH-90 (TTH or NFH I dont mind). It's quite a popular modern-day transport/utility helicopter used in 13 different countries (some of which aren't even apart of NATO)! A SH-60 Sea Hawk would also be cool to see especially with its quite surprisingly large weapon armament variety.
  12. Aww, I would've loved to have my dream C-101 CC loadout (2x AIM9L, 2x Sea Eagle and possibly 2x Rocket Pods) in DCS. I wouldn't mind if it would be heavy and/or overweight (although you could lower the amount of fuel payload carried as the C101, even on a low tank, has an excellent flying range). So does this mean that the 2 Sea Eagles are all the plane can carry at once? If so, then this is unfortunately not the aircraft for me (even if it would be considered fictional, as several things are in DCS, it would the aircraft an awesome light somewhat-multirole aircraft if it could carry weapons on other pylons). In addition, I did try to crunch some numbers (namely thrust to weight, engine pounds of force, wing specifications, pylon distance etc.) and I found that, technically speaking, it should be possible to at least mount 2 Sea Eagles on the 2 most inner pylons then have 2 AIM9L's on the most outer pylons so that the plane can defend itself against aerial targets instead of calling in a risky AI or multiplayer CAP aircraft which can take time (and in DCS, as we know, every second and every advantage counts).
  13. Wait, so with these equiped, you cannot have any weapons on the other pylons! Not even a AIM9L for self defence?
  14. Will the Sea Eagle only be able to attack ship targets (as I've heard that a certain model was built, but not mass produced, that could technically attack ground targets)?
  15. I could not agree with you more!
  16. I completely agree. I would be SOO happy if a MiG-23MLA Module were to be created as the aircraft was not too slow and primitive but not too modern and common throughout other simulations. Plus the MiG-23 was a worthy successor to the MiG-21 due to its relatively good multirole and interception capability.
  17. 1x EVGA GTX 780 ACX Edition
