  1. I have the same left drift problem with the SU-25 using a Saitek evo wireless - but no probs with fast jets - and I have calibrated
  2. Because its fun Because your worth it
  3. Would vote Harrier, but there is a South Atlantic sim coming out soon. Voted Tornado - but would prefer the ECM version mod as others stated earlier. Cant see why Viggen not in the mix
  4. Viggen, just for variety, looks great(as does the Mirage 2000) but the Viggen is different, and dont know any modern sims that have it (Not a fan of MS sims so they dont count for me) Still would love to see a flyable F-5 E, F-5 Tiger III or F-5 S/T - but thats just wishful thinking
  5. I get what you are saying, but some of the existing upgraded F-5 types have AMRAAMs and/or Israeli BVR missiles, as well as helmet aimed short range missiles. I think an F-5 add-on would add to the game and scenarios. It would really compliment the A-10 and SU25 Anyway, I for one would be in the minority of wanting the F5
  6. Looks great, thanks - but would love to have a few of the older posts on following pages as an archive
  7. Why dont we have several pages on the forum? Its nice for someone new like me to be able to browse through older posts an issues. I think its good to build up an archive
  8. I found this from another poster in an archive online. Copied and pasted it - did just like it says, and ended a lot of frustration. For a long time LOMAC was a real frustrating problem for me, but after a total re-install for the umpteenth time this finally worked. Thank You whoever you are who wrote the original - it sorted out my DLL Hell ======================== try this: go into the LockOn folder (usually C:\Program Files\Ubi Soft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On), check the menus at the top of the folder window and find one called "Folder Options" (I think). In there go through the tabs til you find one with a long list of checkboxes and options etc. Find an option that says something like "Hide extensions for known file types", disable it and hit "OK". It may already be disabled but check first. I'm not sitting at my XP machine just now on 2000 Pro at work so can't be exactly sure of the above but it's not far from what i describe. Now to create the file. In the Lock On folder, hit the "File" menu, go into "New" and hit "Text Document". This will create an empty text file with a .txt extension. Rename the file to "lockon.exe.local" (without the quote symbols). That should do what you want it to, although I've never heard of having to do this, normally if an app finds a dll in the same folder as itself it should use that one automatically, I could be wrong there tho.
  9. Hi All, Just been messing about with sim again. Finally think I have instalation sorted with the computer-Hallehluhja. Looking forward to really getting into it. I really like LOMAC - find it way better than MS-FS. I'd just like to know what are the chances of their ever being an F-5 add on to the series. I' m fairly new so I dont know if the company is developing new lines for LOMAC. I realise that this is sort of a wishlist topic, but I just thought to ask. Would it be that hard I to create a commercially viable F-5 addon similar to Flaming Cliffs? I remember from another posting a while back that among the constraints for a new flyable model were no AG radar and a single seat. I understand that flyable models will not support ground search radar (saw this with a discussion about F/A 18 somewhere here) The F-5 has no Ground radar, so that is covered. The F-5A and B have no radar so AA was-like the SU-25 - IR missiles. For the sake of a reasonable post I have added a PS on the E/F and modernised varients at the end of this posting for those interested. Upgrades include helmet mounted sites. I think the F-5 would also allow for new types of missions like Photo Recon types and expand the Sims appeal. I really think it would be commercially viable - I would certainly buy it. I believe it would have broad appeal - so many countries have used it. With reference to our sims area of ops and NATO - LOMAC/FC the following countries could be in the field. Canada, Greece, Spain, Turkey,The Netherlands and Norway-especially with RNoAF recon types. Also, might be interesting to incorporate Switzerland and Austria. In addition, the plane has been used by the following nations: Bahrain,Botswana,Brazil, Ethiopia,Honduras,Indonesia,Iran,Jordan,Kenya,Libya,Malaysia,Mexico,Morocco,Paraguay, Philippines, Republic of China, South Korea,Saudi Arabia,Singapore, Vietnam,Thailand,Tunisia,Venezuela and Yemen Some of the cammo schemes - especially North Africas - would be of real interest to skinners I know there has been a skin made for the F15C plane so it looks like an F-5 but still maitains the F-15s flight characteristics. So surely by adjusting the performance of the F-15 an F-5 addon sim could be created? The F-5 characteristics are known and already in the Sim as the non-flyable F-5 are about. ======================== P.S. RADARS AND UPGRADES The F-5F was armed with Emerson AN/APQ-157 radar, which is a derivative of the AN/APQ-153 radar, with dual control and display systems to accommodate the two-men crew, and the radar has the same range of AN/APQ-153, around 10 NM The latest radar upgrade included the Emerson AN/APG-69, which was the successor of AN/APQ-159, incorporating mapping capability, most nations chose not to upgrade due to financial reasons, and the radar only saw very limited service in USAF aggressor squadrons and Swiss air force. The F-5E experienced numerous upgrades in its service life, with the most significant one being adopting a new planar array radar, Emerson AN/APQ-159 with a range of 20 NM to replace the original AN/APQ-153. Similar radar upgrades were also proposed for F-5F, with the derivative of AN/APQ-159, the AN/APQ-167, to replace the AN/APQ-157, but was never carried out. Various F-5 versions remain in service with many nations. Singapore modernized their F-5 fleet and re-designated F-5S/T. Upgrades include new GRIFO radar, updated cockpits with multi-function displays, and compatibility with the Rafael Python and AIM-120 AMRAAM. Similar programs have been carried out in Chile and Brazil. The Chilean upgrade, called the F-5 Plus, incorporated a new Elta 2032 radar and other improvements. The Brazilian program, called the F-5M and is armed with Python V coupled to the DASH helmet-mounted cue system, and new GRIFO radar, cockpit displays and navigation electronics. The Brazilian F-5M is also equipped with the Israeli Derby missile, and can operate in a BVR environment. In the Cruzex 2006 multinational war games, a Brazilian F-5 "destroyed" three French Mirage 2000 aircraft, using the Derby. The French Mirages had not detected the F-5, nor the launch of the missiles. The Brazilian F-5 was supported by an AEW&C plane, and the contact report of the French aircraft had been made by datalink to the F-5M. Another upgrade programs have been carried out in Thailand by Israel being called the F-5T Tigris, armed with Python III and 4 (with Dash helmet-mounted cue system) . Unlike other upgrade programs RTAF F-5 cannot operate with BVR
  10. I saw in another posting that there is a download for a tailhook for the SU 25T by a guy called Brit (?) I think, any leads on where to get that?? Would be really cool to see an su-25UTG mod
  11. Hi All, living in Rotterdam, Holland.
