  1. Maybe try the Huey? You might be surprised how enjoyable choppers can be. I am an ex warbird man, but tried the Huey and I am now into choppers big time. Cold war servers like Enigma are great for choppers and the cold war era aircraft sets and ground units are more joined up and representative as a complete package than WWII with DCS IMHO. Good luck. Happy landings, Talisman
  2. Even with radio turned on and set to INT? With radio on and set to INT, you should then get a 'copy' response from the crew chief and then your request should be met. Good luck. Happy landings, Talisman
  3. Looking very good Daemoc. I have improved mine too and now use two of the throttle levers with a thicker, longer metal tube similar to yours. But your set up is very much better than mine. Well done! Happy landings, Talisman
  4. Very big thank you to Andre for helping me out recently with a problem concerning my JetPad and SimShaker. Andre and f4IO are super helpful and I highly recommend them to anyone thinking of getting a JetPad and or SimShaker. Tech support for customers is brilliant. Happy landings, Talisman
  5. Very much agree. I think that there is a lot of untapped potential for helicopter ops that DCS has yet to exploited. I think that DCS could reach a wider customer base if it was to expand more into this area. Happy landings, Talisman
  6. Being able to see troops in the back and disembarking/embarking would be a fantastic addition for helicopter operations immersion across the board. At the moment I feel a disconnect between me as a Huey pilot and the troops when carrying out troop transport and troop support duties. Happy landings, Talisman
  7. I just don't understand why FFB joysticks are not more of a thing for modern devices. If MS could produce their MSFF joystick all those years ago (and Saitek) then why has there not been much more progress since then? When I am in VR, it is the feel/feedback function that is important to me, not the physical look of a joystick. I don't need or want a physically sexy looking joystick when I can be far more accurate when flying with FFB and have far more immersion. Surely there is a gap in the market for someone to make a clean sweep and dominate market share in this regard. Happy landings, Talisman
  8. Love FFB! Would not purchase/fly a model without FFB. I trust that we will have good FFB modelled for the Phantom and Chinook. FFB joystick plus JetPad with SimShaker software along with VR and haptic earphones makes a wonderfully immersive flight simulation with DCS aircraft. FFB. You know it makes sense. Happy landings, Talisman
  9. Hi Folks, Any information regarding compatibility with DCS for the side panel linked below would be gratefully received. Logitech G Farm Simulator Side Panel Control Deck Thanks in advance. Happy landings, Talisman
  10. I have to agree that Discord is awful and I also refuse to use it due to their business model involving datamining, spyware and security issues. I simply can't sign up to their customer user agreement. Moreover, I find their user interface childish and infantilising. I too wish that this forum thread was used more. Happy landings, Talisman
  11. Many thanks for the documents link. Brilliant! Happy landings, Talisman
  12. Looking good. Many thanks and good luck for release. Happy landings, Talisman
  13. Love the Huey! I have a cheap but very effective collective, as you can see from the pics. I used a piece of bamboo and black tape to modify the Saitek throttle quadrant as a collective. The MS FF2 stick is great and with the JetPad and SimShaker for Aviators software I can literally fly by the seat of my pants. Pimax 5k + VR Headset MS FF2 Joystick Thrustmaster VG TWCS Throttle Saitek Pro Flight Throttle Quadrant (two of) MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals Corsair HS60 haptic headset JetPad FF seat Powered by Gametrix with SSA & SSW software
  14. Would especially like to see troops in the back. Hope we get these sort of improvements for the Chinook. Happy landings, Talisman
  15. I am the opposite to this, as I would like to get red of the blue cross much quicker, lol, as I hate the thing. Might be nice to have the option to remove it all together. Happy landings, Talisman
  16. Cheers CHPL, Very many thanks to all Black Angels for a most enjoyable time flying with you all this year. I look forward to flying with you again many times in 2024. Merry Christmas and happy New Year! Happy landings, Talisman
  17. Thanks draconus. Happy landings, Talisman
  18. Hi Folks, Quick question if I may. When I get a notification to say "somebody reacted to post" (heart or thanks) in a DCS forum thread topic, how can I tell who that person is that has reacted to my post? Am I missing something, or am I not supposed to know who that somebody is? Is there a box to tick somewhere or have folks chosen to be anonymous? Am I anonymous too if I react to a post with a heart or a thanks? Thanks. Happy landings, Talisman
  19. Sorry for the late reply. The Marianas map grass is very short compared to the longer grass on the Caucasus map, so no problem. Long grass coming up through the floor behind the front seats in the Huey on the Caucasus map has been a long standing issue, which spoils immersion even more now that the grass is moving like crazy too. Happy landings, Talisman
  20. So maybe the solution could be to have a flat screen optimised version of this sim/game and a second VR optimised version of this sim/game. Then all the VR folks can fly together and all the flat screen folks can fly together, with each to their own world and their own needs. Simples. Happy landings, Talisman
  21. I agree with the above regarding "What we had before was the worst spotting system out of any sim on the market." However, I fear DCS are attempting to come up with the worst solution for the worst spotting system out of any sim on the market. I am concerned that the solution being attempted is far from logical, desirable or achievable and will just cause a lot of trouble and strife. In fact, to me, DCS appears to be trying to apply a sticking plaster solution to try and cover a fundamental problem. I would be happy to be proved wrong though, because I would like to keep supporting DCS if I can, so good luck with it anyway. Happy landings, Talisman
