If your trying to connect to ur buddy's server try to ping the ip first,,,,,run cmd, type: ping [xxx.xx.xxx.xx] "ip address" and hit enter. Check for packetloss. If you have 100% packet loss its router based problem. Firewall's etc

apon ur un-install, id be doing a registry clean, Click Start, and type "regedit" hit enter, go HKEY_current_user, Software, Eagledynamics. Delete the ED file if its there. Also check saved game files. CCleaner is a good freeware program for doing all this for you. After u have cleaned it all up, do a re-boot and make download a fresh copy of DCSW, 10GB i know but u may have downloaded a corrupt DCSW. Also check you directX veriosn, latest video drivers, allow the program thru the firewall etc
