  1. Skatezillas method worked, but I did a clean install. Today I've applied the update to my 1.5 beta install and it stopped working again. :( The error in the log file was the same. I'm copying my 1.5 install and try the upgrade to 1.5 beta now. Do I have to re-install it now each time an update is available? It would be nice if this gets fixed.
  2. I've added my whole DCS.openbeta folder. There is this line in the logs: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/openvr/wiki/HmdError Error 108 means: But this is pretty strange because if I start DCS 2.0.2 or any other VR title it just works. DCS.openbeta.zip
  3. No, doesn't make a difference. :( Any log files to check? Is there any way to enforce the VR mode? The option just says "autodetect" which doesn't work.
  4. It's booting directly to my screen, yes. But all the points you've named are true. I have the latest runtime the HMD is connected, the sensors, external apps are allowed. DCS 2.0 works, Elite Dangerous works, all the software that came with the rift just not DCS 1.5.
  5. I could play with the DK2 some weeks ago now that my CV1 arrived it seems that 1.5 won't detect it? I'm running 1.5.3.53279. Do I have to reinstall DCS 1.5? 2.0 works just fine with it and is great! I've already cleared my DCS profile and it still doesn't detect the CV1.
  6. While this works fine when not using the Rift it doesn't work and seems to be a bug as I found out in another thread. :(
  7. I've tried searching but I couldn't find out how to change the default view when using the rift? I'm setting to low in the plane and can't even properly look through the gun sight in my P51. :( Is there any way to change this?
  8. I've tried to do the Huey Startup Tutorial using the Rift, when the instructions tell me to press CTRL + ENTER to open the controls indicator nothing happens. I think I've noticed the same problem before with other things like the map as well. Looks like there is an issue when the Rift is used with some things.
  9. The latest update broke the Oculus support for me. The game now crashes again after the loading bar reached 100%. :( Reverted back to 1.5.1.46722.87 and it's working fine there.
  10. In this video at 0:41 there is a manouver shown by the P51. What is the name of it and how do I perform it?
  11. OK, thank you guys! I think it is the AI as well. At least I don't think anymore I'm completely incompetent. ;)
  12. OK, I've downloaded Tacview (great tool btw!) and I guess I know what I'm doing wrong. By looking at the recording I see that the AI flies a perfect straight line without moving a lot up and down like I do. I guess I'm wasting energy by doing that. I think at around 11:00 in the recording it starts getting away from me. At the end it was at ~4km away form me and I could not keep up with it any more. At least I've hit it a few times before... You can also see that I've tried to climb and descent as suggested to gain some speed but this didn't work out very well either. Tacview-20141221-151330-DCS.txt.acmi.zip
  13. What is WEP please? I haven't had much to do with flying before I've got in touch with DCS after I've tried it at a friends place and like challenges. So I'm not very familiar with any specific terminology yet but willing to learn. However I prefer learning by doing than reading a 500 page manual after work. But I don't mind reading some sections if you point me to it and say it's required. I have tried it again to catch up but didn't made it again. I've watched the AI flying and seen it flies at ~500mph... I'm clearly not able to get my plane up to that speed except in a descent. Thanks for your help so far guys, seems to a be friendly forum and community! Edit: Figured out what WEP means: War Emergency Power. But it didn't made a big difference. I've managed to hit the AI a few times (not enough to make it go down) but obviously enough to make it flee... It managed to get away again! :( I must do something seriously wrong. I'll see if I can record a video some time soon. Also it seems that I get slower or can't run on full manifold pressure when I was running the engine at it for some time. I'm aware that I stress and can break the engine if I run it out of the green zone for some time. It's all about energy management, isn't it?
