  1. 800+ pages for the A-IIC + 390 pages for the separate DCS manual is almost equal to the number of pages I have in each of my cars. I used to have the assumption that technology was to make stuff easier to use and make users more productive. That's no longer the case. I'm not complaining about the manual though. I like them and one of my criteria for buying anything. It's better than the other extreme: no documentation at all. I know it is unrealistic given how frequent updates are created but I miss real manuals. I still keep a copy of my Falcon 4 manuals. I just can't get myself to get rid of them.
  2. The latest version of the OpenBeta manual is at least 100 pages more than the stable release version. Is there a change log for the manual (not the plane) for the A-10C II?
  3. I went ahead and installed the OpenBeta version and copied my config folder from the Stable release. I noted two things immediately after one pattern flight. 1. The nose wheel seems more sensitive and I'm having a tough time going straight on the runway. I'll fail the driving test for sure for having too much alcoholic drinks. 2. The HUD INTEN setting now seems to default to maximum intensity (which is a good thing) and I may not have to install the dark font or symbology mod on the HUD. Is this how it is supposed to be for OpenBeta? I'll start using the OpenBeta version for now and also browse the manual. Do you use Trackir? I've been hesitant to buy one since I have VR (which I don't use). I saw TrackIR selling on eBay for U$86 but I'm wondering if this is legit (see link below). Price is low compared to prices in Amazon. Amazon has it from U$125 to about U$180. If the eBay item is legit I might buy one and see how the experience compares with the VR headset (Meta Quest 2) Infrared TrackIR5/TrackNP5 6DOF Head Tracking System Gaming Flight Simulator | eBay
  4. I have no limits on downspeed (1 Gbps) or data. I also have lots of space in NVMe and SDD drives. What are the top three changes in OpenBeta over the Stable version? How long has OpenBeta been in beta?
  5. Good to know it's user error (not surprising really), and that there's something I can do about it. I'll try again, this time in Free Flight. I'm wondering if I should do OpenBeta. How long has it been in Beta and what are the three major changes? What would you recommend? Should I 'upgrade' to OpenBeta? If yes, where and how do I join? Uninstall the stable version first, or just install the OpenBeta version over the existing version. Thank you.
  6. @Yurgon Thank you for the quick reply. I downloaded the A-10C manual from the DCS website previously after you noticed a discrepancy in our manual versions even though they were both dated the same. I checked the manual that I downloaded from the DCS website. The Targeting Pod Set Up in the manual is on page 521 (see below), and not on page 616 as you referenced (see your prior post). Nonetheless, I looked in the Table of Contents, and I followed the directions on page 521 for setting up the TGP. I'm supposed to get a 'STANDBY' message after pressing OSB2. But as you can see from the track I attached, I'm still getting that NOT SOI message, and neither am I seeing the referred OSB2 selection, and the corresponding A-G screen mentioned in the manual. Can't help but wonder what I'm missing... For_Yurgon2.trk
  7. Here you go.... Sorry for the delay. I just came back from dinner. I hope this is the right *.trk file. I don't understand why I can't get SOI on the right MFCD. For_Yurgon.trk
  8. No. I was following directions from the manual. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I double checked by referencing another manual (which has the same date as the one above), and neither does it mention checking for A-A or A-G.
  9. My thoughts too which is why I asked if swapping an MFCD page is still being done.
  10. I am checking out the A-10C targeting pod. I've been trying to get the TGP page on the right MFCD 1. Instant Action 2. Take-Off 3. Laser Arm - Arm 4. TGP - On 5. Coolie Hat - short right to cycle to OSB 15 (TGP) 6. Coolie Hat - long right click Result: "TGP OFF", "NOT SOI". I've done this several times. I get SOI on the left MFCD, HUD, and HMCS. But not on the right MFCD. What am I doing wrong or what am I missing?
  11. You're correct it's not. I was thinking the A-10C sim should probably have a two part quick start functionality: Part 1 - preflight preparation procedures and Part 2 - what exists now (RWin+Home).
  12. I've been wondering why pilots can't just press a few buttons and take-off. Is it because the A-10 is an old model built before modern computers? What is the rational for still having lengthy start-up procedures?
  13. Yes, I've tried it. I've been reading the manual on the left side below. Is this the most current one??
  14. The A-10C manual has a lengthy preflight procedure in a section called 'Flight Preparation'starting on page 425. How do I save completed procedures or the aircraft state for future use?
  15. The MAP OFF is on the MFCD and the Next Point rocker is on the UFC. How do I map these to joystick buttons? What is the MAP OFF option called in Adjust Controls?
  16. I looked for 'pause' in the Adjust Controls section but couldn't locate it. It seems kinda odd since both work on the keyboard.
  17. If the A-10 is refueled after every landing, then how much do they put in? Do they remove fuel when it turns out that the plane's mission changed and it'll have to carry a heavier load? How is fuel removed to make room for a heavier loadout?
  18. Wow. Beautiful, and it's a keeper. Do you have a similar drawing for the joystick?
  19. I looked but I couldn't find the switch on the left or right console. Is it modeled in the DCS version? What is the switch called?
