  1. In my opinion it's extremely hard to track how much time you've spent witch each aircraft since the tracking doesn't work properly. Time spent in training or reading manuals also doesn't count. Ultimately, I don't believe time matters at all. What matters is what you can do you may want to grade your understanding as capable of 1) ground operation (op), 2) a basic flight, 3) navigation systems op, 4) weapons systems op, 5) other systems op, 6) ground attack missions (interdiction etcetera) and 7) coordinated missions (CAS, CSAR etcetera).
  2. i7 = i5 + hyper threading. No hyper threading support, essentially zero improvement. Videos games generally never support hyper threading. Also I hope the 24 GB memory weren't meant for gaming because then you've been scammed up the butt.
  3. You're not even close to overheating anything. CPUs generally begin throttling at 72 degrees Celsius. At that time they dynamically decrease efficacy so no overheat occurs.
  4. A10ABFT01, please change it so that big car in the north doesn't drive straight through you. BFT03 is moderately broken (1.1), has it been changed in 1.2? 1. Can't hear check at beginning, but answer it. 2. Only 1 waypoint, cannot change to any other waypoint. 3. He says turn to 40/300 and when I do I'm unqualified. Note I'm basically flying over the city, not very well aligned with runway.
  5. General wisdom: More expensive means a smaller gain in strength. Buy the cheapest and weakest motherboard which supports what you'll use. Every dollar spent on more than the bare minimum here is a waste. Go with known brands for safety. CPUs evolve slowly. Different current models don’t make much difference and there’s no actual secret way to get ahead. Overclocking costs way more in special equipment than its worth. Avoid i7’s. They don’t do anything i5’s don’t in video gaming and anyone that tells you i7’s are soon going to break through have been saying so since in the 90’s. If you want to burn money definitely do it on the graphics card. Still remember that double the cost only means 20% stronger generally. Consider the 3 middle-class cards of each generation but dismiss the weakest and the strongest because you’ll be better off saving your money for a brand new card on 2-3 years. 8GB memory more than enough, with video gaming in mind. If you want to consider buying 16GB you may as well shove the money up your noun… 500GB storage highly sufficient, in case you need a guideline. The only two things that matter here is your adult directory and your games. A brand new game generally needs 20GB, a 10 year old game 2GB, a 15 year old game 0.2GB etcetera... SSD worth it! Go 100% SSD unless you’re a cheapskate and you won’t have to worry about buzzing any HDDs. Watercooling doesn't do shit aircooling doesn't do. Gaming systems only need 300W or so and you ought to nearly double that so about 420-600W is quite OK. Anything more unless you’re going with dual graphics card is snake oil. A quiet case makes a big difference 99% of your time in front of the computer you're not playing games. Spending money on a good monitor, either 60 Hz non-TN or 120 Hz TN, as well as good audio (headphones if needed), a good mouse (SteelSeries Sensei), mousepad (SteelSeries again), keyboard (Corsair K70) and so on are worth it. Maybe an external back-up disk? Spending money on this will be much more worth it than more memory. Good brands are Corsair, MSI, Asus, Intel, Samsung (SSDs), Western Digital and Seasonic.
  6. No worries. A computer can work at 100% essentially indefinitely. When your computer breaks down after 20 years you'll have bought another one 15 years ago anyway. You can cap fps with software such as MSI Afterburner and I do it (only to avoid screen-tearing) but I wouldn't believe there's any significant difference in endurance or electricity usage even. V-sync should stay on but some games such as DCS if I remember correctly will drag your fps all the way down to 20-30 as soon as you drop below 60 and that's ill.
  7. CCTVS is the technical term for it (isn't it?) which is utilized in the actual manual so I don't understand what's funny about it.
  8. The CCTVS/DVADR Remote Control Panel is the black box above the throttle quadrant and all that. It's got two switches.
  9. 1: Navigation awareness: after you get airborne and have stabilized stop what you're doing one moment and watch outside. Watch ahead, sides and back and create a mental 3x3 map of your surroundings and note anything significant including mountains. Example: I'm in centre. Empty plains ahead and right, mountains left with big mountain directly left and plains back, Ultima-style. ^## ^@# ^## Every now and then do this again. If your navigation busts find the mountain going south and when you are at the big mountain airbase is east. During flight planning it can also be a good idea to note for example that you're supposed to fly 227 across three rivers but not a fourth and then turn. Count mountains, water etcetera. 2: A-G spotting: note the surroundings of your enemy. Edge of city, or in middle of N-shaped green-yellow field. When looking away note what you see as you turn. Example my enemy is at the edge of the woods to my right and if I want to turn to see them I should see three other small woods then stop turning and see them directly below a cloud in the distance. 3: A-A spotting. If he's nowhere he's on your six.
  10. A good amount of hostility has met this suggestion previously so I doubt it will be implemented this time.
  11. I don't believe the TrackIR coupons apply to anything anymore actually, but in either case being a third party module the MiG-21 isn't in the whole bonus deal anyway.
  12. What the ****? Usually they have super sale during the final hours of the sale so I thought I'd wait even though the sale was cheap already simply because at least things couldn't get more expensive or so I thought but now they cut it short instead? It's BS.
