  1. So use last good build then. You do use some sort of version control system, don't you?
  2. I assure you, that I'm well aware that DCS1.2 has multiple executables, I had experienced crash into debriefing screen quite some times. I also know what the intention is. Fact that DCS2.0 is still multiple executables, indicates that it is bodged on top of DCS1.2 (or flanker) with same old bugs. Maybe ED should focus on FM development and leave programming and project management to somebody half competent. Was last sentence helpful?
  3. Sounds much like DCS1.2 to me, I'd experienced everything expect data loss, Considering DCS1.2 Only thing that comes to mind: Seriously, DCS 2.0 must be in nightmarish state. 2 executables, it was last time in XCOM? Unable to finish multiplayer GUI? Regars https://youtu.be/OMh-Js0KFFc
  4. There are dedicated ELINT platforms to gather this sort of information like RC-135, other than that, data can come from analysis of acquired equipment and of course espionage.
  5. By signal parameters like carrier frequency, pulse repetition frequency, duty cycle, modulation, etc. It can also analyze combined antenna-scan characteristic, ringing on pulse edges, but that is mostly done in ELINT receivers. M-link is missile link - radio-frequency channel used to transmit guidance/mid-course navigation data to/from missile.
  6. @Basher54321: SA-2 is radio-command guided not SARH.
  7. Given RWR will have given PI against given m-link, and that will be most likely less than 100%. So its not granted that RWR will be able to pickup and distinguish m-link. RWR can interpret anything it pickups anyhow it "likes", thing is, if it will be correct interpretation. For example what prevents enemy from transmitting m-link even when not guiding missile? RWR has no idea when missile self destructs, or if there was any real missile launch at all. In modern systems that's probably programmable according to EOB. When missile uses m-link its still mid-course so radar can be in TWS mode so there is no lock.
  8. Try instant action missions. I'v experienced this problem there (every time), other missions worked OK for me (every time).
  9. Is there face reflection visible with sunglasses in top left corner after crash, or is it just my imagination?
  10. What type of ejection seat is in that F-16, with those stowable air data sensors, is it ACES II? Aren't they fixed except for F-22 seat?
  11. Use campaign builder in main menu. Mission selection depends on your previous results in campaign, see range column.
  12. They must had a lot of confidence in their goatkeeper point defense system, taking pictures like that. Are there any whereabouts about the helicopter? Did US recovered the machine, or airstriked the site, or Iraqi send it to (or parts of) Russia?
  13. That picture is titled "An Iraqi man waves his AK-47 rifle in front of an Apache military helicopter in the Hindiya district. 120 km south-west of Baghdad, on Monday. — Reuters photo" Article is here.
  14. It wont, keep in mind that rotor blades pitch is not determined by black rectangle, but by red circle r. By cyclic deflection you tilt the plane, but in that plane lays the swashplate. When you put cyclic into the corner, the corner point (intersection of y with bk) will indeed drop more than intersection of g with bk, but blades pitch is determined by swashplate (intersection of y with r) and that is exactly the same.
  15. I just started with this module... I was flying first mission of campaign, while suddenly my aircraft got broken, I was unable to fire cannon, later I noticed XXXX.XX indication where ammo counter used to be, left engine core RPM down to 70% (right 90%), and bullet holes on inner section of left wing. While none of multitude of warning lights was lit. My question is, shouldn't I under such circumstances get master caution? Avionics was able to detect there was something wrong with cannon (unless I set something wrong). left engine RPM wasn't matching throttle position and altitude, and holes in left wing. Isn't there inert gas pressurized fuel tank in inner section of wing?
  16. TOW is not optically guided but it optically tracks target. Its wire guided. Those two things, target tracking and guidance, are orthogonal. Both TOW and Shkval/Vikhr optically tracks its target, difference is that Shkval/Vikhr will trigger targets LWR since its LASER beam rider, while TOW will not.
  17. You gain cover from enemy fire, also even if helicopter is in LOS, its much less observable against ground background compared to when its "skylined". Flying high sacrifices biggest advantage that helicopter has compared to fixed wing aircraft. Of course when one fights enemy equipped with AK-47 and RPG-7 it doesn't makes much sense to fly to low, but it doesn't mean that flying low is some nonsense that belongs to action movies.
  18. I'v experienced the same, only it was 105mm from T-55, and all I could see externally was missing windshield window. Damage model is quite lacking, something blows of part of helicopter (stub wing, tail), and I barely notice, because all I can hear is silent thud. Also there is very little disturbance caused by hit alone.
  19. Dispensers placement deals with complex problem and there probably isn't one right answer. But IR seekers have narrow FOV so having flares quickly leaving airplane area and thus FOV of tracking missile may not necessary be the best thing.
  20. That doesn't surprise me, since it usually works the same way with ejection seats, on two seaters, to prevent midair collisions. I meant to ask, if its proper technical term for shots being fired with intentional delay. EDIT: For A/G weapons terms ripple quantity/ripple interval are usually used, is term "salvo" really used throughout official documentation for AIM-120?
  21. Is it really a salvo? Aren't shots in salvo supposed to be launched simultaneously instead of rapid success?
  22. AFAIK that is a long known issue, you can't do anything about it.
