  1. This is AWSOME! the two operations that was not working in CMD, worked with your updater GUI without any difficulty!
  2. I have got a lump for a Video Card GTX 1070 and I use VR so 2.8.x will not work for me. I placed the installer file where I wanted DCS installed, opened command prompts and changed directories to that location. Next I entered the line DCS_Updater.exe update 2.7.18.30765 I also tried with just update 2.7 (Last version I think VR Requirements cover's GTX 1070. And every time DCS installs, it is 2.8.x. Can someone assist with what I might be doing wrong? I thought I followed the instructions from this page (nicely laid out by the way).
  3. No your not misunderstanding, I appreciate you posting your tuning settings. I ws surprised to see everything at 100%. I am going to try that. Again thank-you. I do appreciate your commnents/replies even if they do not solve my issues. Have a great weekend!
  4. My software/firmware is up to date. I dont think "Target" is an option for the Thrustmaster HOTAS 1. I thought that was the device you are running as well. I will look for "Target" and try though, regardless of support for my device. I never play online, I only play Campaign and Quick missions. I am truly having a difficult time tuning my joystick X and Y axis's. If you have the TM HOTAS 1, can you provide me with your tuning of these two settings? Even if you had the luxury of using the default settings? I have tried so many settings, I will never know what is default even if I found them again, and nothing has worked for me. If you dont want to provide me with those settings, I understand and will leave you alone. Thank-you
  5. Thanks for the reply. Those are the settings I found for the throttle/collective to work for me, my concers is with the stick. Not the twisting action for yaw, that is fine. I cannot find a setting for the X and Y axis that works for me. everything is either too sensitive. Or I do not have much control/travel. Would you mind sharing what you have these Axis's on maybe that might help my situation?
  6. Thanks, that helped my landings dramatically. It does not help I started flying simulated Helo's in MS Flight Simulator which states, that the program is not a Helo sim and that some functions are automated. I am curious if this is the reason why in Vietnam war movies (or any movie filming a UH-1H landing) they come in at shallow angles to the Earth with their bodies tilted way back. That has become an Icon of the UH-1H and makes for a dramatic landing IMO.
  7. Any self respecting ground crew would clean the glass. Well, I guess I am glad that I did not purchase the UH-1H prior to Belsimtek rehiring the cleaning crew! Sounds like a pain flying with dirty glass. Sorry DrDetroit for losing your reference points.
  8. I could not find topic and was scrolling for a while. A search feature would be nice for Forums. Anyone using the ThrustMaster HOTAS1? I cannot seem to get good tuining on X and Y axis. It is dramatically sensitive or has virtually no travel. Dont have this problem with other aircraft.
  9. Where would the folder be if you dont have a Users > User name > Saved Games folder? I dont have a saved games folder, but know its being stored somewhere.
  10. What if you dont have a Users > User Name > Saved Games folder? I know MissionEditor is being stored somewhere.
  11. @Lange_666What is the VR not what its cracked up to be? With used components on the way, I think I got one heck of a deal at under $150.00. I wanted an upgrade anyways, DCS was just lagging and took a long time to load and other delays. I had just found the Oculus Quest for $150.00 which I was thinking about purchasing to see how that worked, and upgrade GPU later if necessary. My new specs are now going to be: MB: P67-D3-B3 (Not changed) CPU: I-7 3770S Ram: 40GB DDR3 SSD: 2T (External) USB: 3.1-C GPU: Radeon RX 460 (for now not changed) OS: W10 64bit
  12. Thanks for the info, I appreciate the honesty. I am looking at a good deal for 32GB RAM and possibly I-7 2600. If I were to make those upgrades, do you think I might be able to get away with the Radeon R9 290 4GB? With an SDD to come at a later date?
  13. I am thinking about purchasing the Oculus Rift or Rift S. I am going to have to upgrade my GPU and memory to be able to use as they do not meet Rift requirements. I seen the recommended VR requirements for DCS 2.7 with either the GTX 1080 or Vega 64 recommended is out of my price range. Would I be able to get away with a lesser GPU with minimal problems, or will DCS not work without the recommended GPU's? I would never be able to afford one of those in the next couple years. The Oculus Rift and S minimum requirements are GTX 960 + or Radeon R9 290 +. Cards of this quality or slightly higher I would be able to purchase. Any body know of other VR head sets that would function well with DCS? (I am aware that the answer to my first question would still apply). The remainder of my system is: Processor: I-5 2400 MB: P67-D3-B3 MB RAM: 12 GB DDR3 (currently) GPU: Radeon RX 460 (currently) HD: 1 Terabyte SATA. OS: W10 64 Thank-you
  14. Recommended VR systems requirements (VR graphics settings): OS 64-bit Windows 10; DirectX11; CPU: Core i5+ at 3+ GHz or AMD FX / Ryzen; RAM: 16 GB (32 GB for heavy missions); Free hard disk space: 350 GB on Solid State Drive (SSD); Discrete video card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 / AMD Radeon RX VEGA 64 or better; Joystick; requires internet activation.
  15. Thank-you imacken, looks like for some reason all the PDF files were corrupt.
  16. Thank-you for your advise on checking to make sure the folder at: D:\Games\DCS World\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\Campaigns\SpitFire IX Epsom was deleted after uninstalling product. In doing so, I discovered that No PDF files are displayed available in my DCS installment. The only thing I could think of, is a corrupt installation. I am completely uninstalling DCS (I really do not like having to do this) and reinstalling to see if the PDF files work then.
  17. Can anyone please assist or upload files for me? I have recently downloaded DCS 2.7.3 and when I started Operation Epsom, the In game Campaign background just directs me to the folder: ...Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\campaigns\Spitfire IX Epsom\Doc . When I go to this locations, it has PDF Files that are of corrupt file or unknown file icons for PDF's. When I try to open them, it gives me the error message that file in this location does not exist. I have uploaded one for an example, which is an _RU file, but these were the only ones that are under 5MB.Mission 1 Briefing_RU.pdf I have uninstalled the Spitfire and Operation Epsom and reinstalled with same results. Don't think my system has anything to do with this issue: CPU: Intel I5-2400 @ 3.10GHz Board: P67A-D3-D3 RAM: 12GB HD: 2x500GB 1x250GB GPU: Radeon RX 460 4GB Discrete
  18. I made my page filing a constant 32GB on both my OS and Programs Drive, and the game did not like that. I kicked it back up to 64GB and it was a bit more smooth. I could now play in low graphics dropping my resolution. I have a lower power video card and lowering the resolution seemed to work for about 3/5ths of a game. Then it crashed again, and again, and again. After one crash delivering a static screen I thought my GPU was blown. I was able to recover the following error: "Windows 10 Event 10016 Fix: The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID {D63B10C5-BB46-4990-A94F-E40B9D520160} …" After reading a few articles I realized it was not my settings or my video card. I had found the below post, and after adding (In my case) a setting in Regedit and changing my settings in the graphics to default then setting DCS World to medium, no enhancements I played my first mission on this video card up until the point I bailed out which is much improvement. Previously I could not even make it to targets much less being shot down before the system crashed. IF you have an AMD and experiencing lag/stutters/freezes and crashes, this is worth a try. https://community.amd.com/thread/180166 I am going to reduce my page filing to see what that does, because it is a bit excessive and going to perform a stress test on my video card to see what that does. Hopefully I will be playing many more missions on this card and keeping my fingers crossed I will be :pilotfly: till I cant :joystick: any longer.
  19. Will make it constant 32 across all drives, I was thinking as a rule of thumb triple the RAM size. So there is no more crashing and now, my mirrors stopped working. They are jet black and I have them turned on. I set my in-game display settings to low, and works fine other than the mirrors for some reason went black after about my third 'flight' doesn't matter my setting configuration, cannot get them back. Also, If I move to medium in the game settings, I start getting the black flashes again. But no crashing so playable now.
  20. Thank-you so much! IDK if the page filing fixed everything. It was too low 16 min 1675 max. which is probably okay for 6MG RAM where I recently upgraded from. The minimum was set too low in my opinion. I increased to minimum 1000MB and maximum 36000 (Triple new RAM). I was able to test the "Blinking" (Although I shouldn't have, on the clock working) and that is resolved. If the crashing was related, that should be resolved as well. I will be able to test when I am done "working". Thanks again, I forgot all about increasing the page filing when I changed the RAM. Looks like it corrected issues I had with my Opera browser as well. Funny how the simple things sometimes eludes me. When I changed my last video card, I swore I purchased a bad one, my wife asked me if it was plugged in. Um, not the secondary power... but that's another conversation.
  21. Crash log Okay, so now it crashed while starting the mission with the status bar about 75%. I have found the crash log, the game gave me the location and I reported it. Don't know if this will help and a whole heck of a lot of information about my machine apparently. dcs.log-20190208-010406.zip
  22. Okay, so since I have corrected my gun sights. I started my own mission from editor and also tried the instant action with same effects. Now, about 20ish minutes into the game it crashes. Just a simple mission, a few APC's tanks and soldiers just to familiarize myself with guns and rockets. Every time I look around using the hat switch on my joystick I receive black flashes about two thirds of my screen. Eventually the game crashes and I believe they are related. I have turned off the simulator event for pilot eye blinking so it is not that. :music_whistling: I believe/hope my video card should be able to handle the game, I just purchased a healthy used one to play DCS World again after a while of it being dormant. I have a fresh/clean install of DCS World 2.5 no mods with Flaming Cliffs 3 added on only. Do not know where the crash logs are stored. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. CPU: I-5 2nd gen / GPU: Radeon RX460 OC / RAM: 12 Gigabytes DCS 2.5 / Flaming Cliffs
  23. Well your suggestion time wise probably would have been faster processing lol. Took me most of the night. Beat you to a solution anyways :) I'm impatient. Thank-you for your comment it is appreciated. At least now there is two possible solutions if anyone else suffers same fate.
  24. I was able to correct the gun sight if this ever inflicts anyone. It was long and laborious. I first Deactivated Flaming Cliffs 3 then un-installed. I then un-installed DCS World 2.5 using a program that deletes all registry keys used by the program being un-installed. I then used the regedit commands from my previous link for Flaming Cliffs 3 just for good measure. Installed DCS World 2.5 then Flaming cliffs and received my gun sights. IDK if there were registry items from DCS World 1.5 that were left over from its un-install or it my original install was corrupt. I am leaning towards the registry keys, as Flaming Cliffs 3 was previously un-installed. Anyways, hope none of you have this issue. I took the long way to fix it, but this is a fix.
  25. I apologize if I should not have decided to open my own thread regarding the display of my gun sites for the SU-25. There is a camouflage patch Where the gun sight and Reticle should display in the HUD. It appears to be only impacting the SU-25. I did try un-installing Flaming Cliffs and reinstalling to DCS World with no avail. I am not using any modifications on any air craft. DCS 2.5 installed after deleting 1.5. I did completely remove 1.5 before installing 2.5. They were also in two different locations. I did have to use the Regedit command from the below location to activate Flaiming Cliffs, and need to do so for several other modules. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/564/#1780273 CPU: I-5 2nd gen / GPU: Radeon RX468 OC / RAM: 12 Gigabytes DCS 2.5 / Flaming Cliffs If anyone has any suggestions/ideas, I would be greatful. Thank-you.
