  1. They work but on the main texture a or whatever, you'll need to paint over the area where there is a decal of interior things where that pod thing was on the front right.
  2. Old topic, but figured I'd post. Have a G940, set up my controls minus the axis via Logitech wingman software that comes with the 940, that way I can use all three modes. I would be playing, DCS would go black for a second or two, come back, and only my axis would work. Would have to quit DCS and relaunch to get the controls working again. I figured there was a program running for a second that was causing my full-screen game to window out but I never was fast enough to see what it was. Saw it this morning, it is Logitech Unifying Software, for wireless mouse/keyboard set ups. Since I only have a wireless mouse, there is no reason for this program since it links multiple wireless devices to the same USB hookup to save USB ports. If you go into (you'll probably have to switch on "show hidden folders") C/ProgramData/Logishrd you'll see the folder Unifying. I just renamed it. So far so good, fingers crossed this continues to work. Was driving me mad not being able to use all three modes on the G-940.
  3. Saw this in the grass at Detling, looks like an SBC to me. Great detail, maybe a hint at more to come? Also, are there any plans to make the objects on this map open for builders to use in mission/campaign building?
  4. Thanks Skate, but still no luck. :noexpression:
  5. Can anyone help me out, Oculus support is basically nonexistent. The OR Store says I have a firmware update for the sensor. I click on it and nothing happens, it acts like it DL's and then it quits the store, then reopens itself and the update is still there. I can't play any games and when I try DCS I only have 4 DoF, when I move side to side or in and out nothing happens. $599 paperweight so far.
  6. $10 is nothing for such an excellent addition. Thanks for the work, hope it releases soon.
  7. Thanks for all the info guys, I was just curious on why my settings seemed to not change things. Glad to know I'm not the only one. I tried the same at McCarran and it was basically the same, seemed locked at 45. I flew around for about 20 mins again before having to take a break. Not sure if it is just normal VR induced tiredness or if the FPS is getting to me, I don't really notice jitters but can't really fly for more than 20 mins. It is beyond awesome. The resolution is lower than I had hopped but I quickly forget about it with the scale, immersion and just overall wow factor. You actually feel like you are in the valley around Las Vegas in the rift, it is insane. Once the resolution bumps and the FOV gets bigger it is going to be as real as it can get.
  8. So first thoughts on OR: Wow, wow, wow. I'll write up some more next week but need to figure something out first. I can put every setting at max and get 45 fps average at Groom. I lower everything to medium and get the same, 45. Lower everything to low or off, and I still get 45. Once I get into the air and gain a little alt is the only time things will go up, but really never over 60 on any of the settings Surely my machine can get 90fps over the desert in an empty mission with everything on low and or off?
  9. I'm sure this has been asked but couldn't find anything with the search feature. I parked my P-51 today and jumped out to do a walk around and a Huey landed next to me. So I walked up towards it and they opened the back door. This makes me wonder will it ever be possible to jump aboard? I got close enough to the skid that when he took off I rode with him for about 10 seconds before I fell off and died in midair. Would be an amazing feature! Online campaigns would take on an entirely different vibe. Again, sorry for the repeat asking, I'm sure it has been asked but couldn't find it.
  10. Thanks for the quick report Jar, man I'm excited for mine. This seems to be a common statement from a lot of people and is enlightening. I'll do a review for the A-10C and P-51 since that is all I fly once I get my CV1, shipped this morning so I'm hoping for either an evening delivery tomorrow or Wednesday. I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve, haven't had that feeling for a long time. :)
  11. I'm talking with them now about upgrading, mainly because my GTX980ti is only 3 months old and it was more money.
  12. [ame] [/ame] I'll write up a review of the P-51 and A-10C once it comes. :pilotfly:
  13. Thanks Meiz, not sure how I missed that, appreciate the link. Looks great, I assume the runways will change with the edge/2.0 merger. Either way totally purchasing this for myself and probably another for a gift once 1.5 and 2.0 merge. Great work, like jamison1982 said, it is the price of a fast food meal.
  14. I'd rather have ED focus on new content and bug fixes than making sure SweetFx will work with everything after every change they make. Way too much work for them, plus Starway's new mod looks bang on with no need for sweetFX. Just my opinion though. I'm bumping a question I had earlier in the thread, I see that Starway redid all the buildings except for the airfield ones, is this because the airfield ones are getting reworked anyways for the jump to Edge/2.0 or am I making that up? Gracias.
  15. You can build your own stands for about 20 bucks worth of PVC or something similar. Good info above about sticks, Craigslist is always an option, just be careful. Also watch out for older sticks that seem like a good bet, a lot of them won't run on the newer OS and driver support/upgrades are basically non-existent.
  16. I don't personally care anymore, I'll get my rift when it gets here but I'm sure this is not sitting well with a lot of people. Contracts are contracts though. http://www.geek.com/games/oculus-rift-to-be-sold-at-retail-stores-before-preorder-backlog-cleared-1653883/
  17. I have purchased and flown the P-51 and A-10C and they are absolutely fantastic. Incredible detail and a real sense of accomplishment when you learn them... although you always are learning. I was hooked on both immediately, but I believe my "hooked" moment for DCS in general was when I tried out my first ILS into Nellis with about 100 meters of visibility in the A-10C. Came out of the clouds and was nearly on the ground, centerline with 2 faint red and 2 faint white PAPI's to my left. Chills like a kid on Xmas. Taxied off and parked, shutdown and sat there in awe. Can't wait to do all this in VR. So with that said, I don't think you can go wrong with any module. I also do have the F-15C and it is fun but I much prefer the clickable, 5-10 minutes to start the damn thing up models.
  18. I was holding off until I got mine to give you a comparison. My specs are below and I get an 11 on the steam VR, I've only seen a 12 being higher but not sure how high it goes. My weakest link will end up being my CPU but I'm still looking into how the hell OC works. I'd always try to shoot higher than recommended specs, but I've basically given up on trying to keep up, hardware and software seem to get better weekly and games seem to be optimized quicker too.
  19. Congrats, same here though. Hoping to get an email soon, my ship window started yesterday.
  20. Nice write up, can't wait to have this experience! My original ship date of March was pushed to May 2-12 so I'm hoping for an email tomorrow! With your updated gpu, did you drop every setting to nothing and adjust from there or did you just jump in?
  21. Haha, thanks Stacker, I was adjusting my trackIR and just glanced up and only saw it for about a half a second. Just goggle mapped the hoover dam and looks like you are correct, it does oddly resemble some of the SoH.
  22. Logged into the F99ths server, playing their Boulder mission. Usually it loads up and then takes me to a map view for a few seconds then I get to pick my aircraft. This time the map that was shown looked like a zoomed out view of the Straight of Hormuz. It definitely was not NTTR and I struggle to think of anything else it could have been. Just FYI
  23. Starway, I apologize in advance if this has been answered back in the depths of the thread, I read through it all but didn't see anything about this. You mention all building textures except airfield buildings have been revamped. I'm curious if ED is updating those textures when this map gets bumped to the new 2.0 build.
