  1. I’m surprised they didn’t mention about the Codename Flanker SU-30 mod in the survey, I think it’s just as popular as the other ones on the list.
  2. Currenthill, I really enjoy your infantry mods, their variety and different weapons capabilities make them a Helo pilots dream. Any chance we can one day get some Russian infantry versions, may be some spetsnaz units . Thank you so much for your work!
  3. That's awesome. Even if its just a static object at the airport. May be we can get the PAK FA and the J-20 next? Just to complete the family.....:music_whistling:
  4. This looks fantastic. Is this going to be a module? A mod? Or a private project? Either way good luck with it. Edit: Never mind, just saw your other post about it being a free project for the community - thank you for your effort!!!!
  5. Ha ha ha.....lol May be it could be used for making missions
  6. Great post...I have been stuck on the C-101 myself for the last month, and the hawk for the last two weeks.....will be starting with the L-39 probably this week or the next. Its amazing how much you can learn from these trainers, and how they improve your ability and understanding of other modules. Anyway if you guys enjoy training missions there is a guy by the name "Emolina" who created an interesting assortment of non combat type missions (for several modules) where you just pretty much use your knowledge of the systems and the info in your kneeboard to navigate to your destination. They make learning the trainers pretty fun and intresting. here is a link: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=172869 I have been really enjoying these missions lately with the trainers.
  7. Let me start out by saying that may be this is already possible and I am just not aware of how to do this, but in case its not here is my idea. I wish for a feature that would allow you to copy a whole mission (including waypoints, ground objects, objectives and triggers) from one mission that you have created into another mission that you have created. The reasoning behind this idea is this: Lets say that you are trying to create a multiplayer squadron mission that caters to different air frames, and lets say for example I am really passionate about creating CAP mission that I would like to fly with my wingman, while my buddy is really passionate creating a CAS or a SEAD mission that he would like to fly with his wingman, and another buddy is really interested in slinging some cargo, and so on and so on.....you get the idea. Obviously since I am passionate about CAP, I am probably not going to be as creative in designing a CAS or a SEAD mission, but perhaps I know some one who is. Wouldn't it be cool if we could both work on our missions independently and then combine our work together, for a better overall experience. What I propose is kind of like a select feature in the mission editor that you could use to drag and select parts or all of the mission (including waypoints, airfield object, pretty much everything..) and then paste it into another created mission. Its kind of like every flight lead creating their own flight plans and then combining them together in order to achieve the overall objective......assuming you have already agreed what that objective is going to be before hand. Would be interested to know if anyone would find that feature useful. Thanks.
  8. I seem to have targets disappearing on me at about 2km when I am behind them, I see the aircraft popping flares but don't see the aircraft sometimes, in the Oculus in the same situation I can spot the aircraft easier....at least that's what it seems like to me. Its unfortunate that the model enlargement options don't work anymore, its a nice option to have considering people have different screen sizes, resolution, and eye sight. Its also nice to be able to practice your SA with this option, I know you could do it with labels, but that's more of an immersion breaker than the over sized model enlargement. I want the model enlargement option back and hope that its not permanently gone.
  9. Has anyone tested this mod in 1.5.5 open beta? I tried it in open beta by creating a mission in the ME where I start cold at Kutasi, but very time I click fly, I load into the aircraft's cockpit and able to look around briefly for a second while experiencing EXTREME stutters and than everything just freezes and the only way to exit is to use the task manager. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar or is it just me? I was thinking this is probably because the Flanker has been updated recently and the mod is still using the previous version of the cockpit and FM files, but I am not sure what I would have to change in order for it to match the new version. Any feedback would be highly appreciated as I really love this mod. Thanks a lot guys.

    F-15E?

Totally agree with you, exciting times we are living in. Now we just need some more Russian aircraft :) Who knows may be we will get a surprise at some point.
  11. I hope that we will still have the option to use this when 2.5 comes out.
  12. Thanks Stonehouse, works perfect.
  13. Hey Stonehouse, I can't seem to find anything under static ground vehicles in the editor, or in any other parts of the editor. I even tried the attached test mission that came with it, only a tank shows up. Is there a different version of this mod somewhere? I noticed that the current mods that I have that work, have a entry.lua in the tech\mod name directory, but this one doesn't, may be that's the culprit? Anyone know how to make this mod usable again? Thanks.
  14. That would be awesome!!! I have been hoping some one would update this pack for a long time. Thanks.
  15. I tend to agree with red777 assessment of the rift, except for the part that its heavy and uncomfortable on your face, for me thats not really a problem. Even though I will be buying the next generation VR HMD because I definitely see the potential of this technology, its not quite there yet for me.....it is only the first generation though.
  16. Thank you for the info PiedDroit. I haven't heard of PIMAX before, but it does look pretty interesting and shows some promise. I do agree that it might not be usable in DCS in the near future, but I think with time DCS will have a wider VR support.....at least I hope. I am surprised that I don't see anything in development that would leverage the power of an on board GPU together with high end graphics cards in the PC, that would definitely provide many flexabilities and advantages such as lower barrier to entry if some one doesn't have a high end system as well as additional graphical processing power for those that already have high end systems and would like to maximize their resolution even further.
  17. BTW...for those that are having trouble with the launching of oculus home when you plug in your phone there is an app you can download (I forgot the name, but I am sure you can google it) that can disable the oculus home service from starting on your android phone when you plug it in to the Samsung gear VR. If you have a good router or wifi card the streaming in 4K is actually pretty smooth.....on a galaxy s7 edge the graphics are almost as good as the rift, but not quite. Along with the stereo monitor view setting in DCS and Track IR the experience can be pretty enjoyable, and you will get that wow stereoscopic 3D factor, though you would have to mess with the zoom function to make the scale feel somewhat more immersive. However comparing it to the rift the head movements don't feel quite as natural, but on the bright side you don't have to twist your neck all the way back with track IR to check your six, and it doesn't feel strange or throw your brain off balance as some may think. Also when streaming through the moonlight app, be careful as it sometimes assigns it own controls to your joystick/throttle/rudder axis so just go into your aircraft axis setting and delete them otherwise you might not be able to control your plane. It might not be an oculus but its definitely a good introduction to VR and for cheap.
  18. So i had my Rift for a little while now and definitely love this thing, however I am getting to the point where the lack of resolution starts to be a little bothersome, and I find my self switching to the 4k monitor just to remember how beautiful DCS really looks. I know people are going to say that immersion is worth it and they would never go back to their monitor after the Oculus, and for the most part its true, but I am a graphics whore and sometimes just need a taste of 4k. Basically what I am saying is that I want a new higher resolution next gen VR head set already and was wondering what is currently in development that is worth paying attention to? New types of displays? On board GPU's? Eye tracking? Higher FOV? I am aware of companies like StartVR and FOVE, but would be interested to know what other people are paying attention to. Here are some links that I found interesting. Please share what you think has potential. Thanks a lot. http://www.virtualrealitytimes.com/2015/03/06/tech-company-takes-spotlight-at-gdc-2015-with-mind-controlled-vr-technology/
  19. Good thing there is a thread started about this topic because I thought I was loosing my sanity. It seems to me that I get good sense of scale flying the Gazelle, but when I get inside an L-39 for example amongst other aircraft, and look at my body and hands, I get the feeling that I am experiencing life as a midget. Oh and the Mirage switches do seem a little small to me. I hope one day we can get a scale adjuster per each aircraft.
  20. Just read the translation from the lockonforum, thanks a lot guys that was fast. Now I can make a Mig-21 intercepting a :alien: mission. :clap_2:
  21. What does Ki stand for? Or did you mean Ai
  22. If its the Mod that I am thinking of from before, you can fly it, but you can't make it an AI, when you set it to AI it just drops out of the sky or crashes DCS. Does any one know if that is still the case with this one?
  23. I had a similar problem before in the previous version, what solved it for me was enabling two services that I had previously disabled: UPNP or SSDP. However when the new version came out my problem came back. Just like you, none of my other software were effected except for SRS. I solved it by going to my router and modem (they are separate devices for me) and enabling QoS (quality of service) then increasing i think it was called upstream bandwidth or something like that from 4 Mbps to 5Mbps, then I ran the setup wizards on both devices and my stuttering went away. I am not sure which one of these steps actually solved the problem as I was trying everything possible to solve it, but after that everything works fine now. Hope it helps.
  24. I had the same power/disconnecting issue when I plugged in both the sensor and the Rift into the 2 USB 3.0 ports that are located in the back of my computer (on the motherboard.) By disconnecting the sensor from the back of my computer and connecting it to the USB 3.0 port in the front of my case (which is coming from a different source on my motherboard) has solved the problem for me. I have a Asus P8Z77-V PRO motherboard. Hope it helps someone.
