  1. Thanks a bunch for all that info. I did have a clone of my windows drive, but I had to reinstall windows because unfortunatly I cloned it while it was corrupted and had a virus. So I just make a copy of that Saved Games folder and place it where you suggested then? Also would that be the only folder that resides on the windows drive? Thanks again.
  2. I'm just about to reinstall windows again on an SSD, so do I have to reinstall all of DCS again? I have DCS on a different Hard drive to my Windows drive, so does this that mean I won't have to reinstall it all again? How do I go about installing it if I don't have to delete most of the game that's on the second drive? Any help would be appeciated because I'm dreading this if I have to reinstall all of it again.
  3. Could you please show me what it looks like when you delete it so that I don't get it wrong.
  4. I want to use the Steam VR beta setting to change ASW for my HP Reverb, but I'm not sure how to do it. Before I had to change ASW by changing the text (below). Now I hear you just have to delete a line in this text, but which line do I delete and where is the setting in Steam VR to switch ASW on or off? Thank you! "driver_Holographic_Experimental" : { // Motion reprojection doubles framerate through motion vector extrapolation // motionvector = force application to always run at half framerate with motion vector reprojection // auto = automatically use motion reprojection when the application can not maintain native framerate "motionReprojectionMode" : "auto",
  5. I'll give that a try, but I'm sure I wasn't pressing anything before he finished speaking. I'll try it again later though and let you know if it still does it. I'll also try the pause to see if that helps and I can still see the text. Cheers!
  6. Just looked at this tool, but how do you extract the text from the training missions in DCS with it? There's no instructions on how to use it. Cheers!
  7. No because the ipd in DCS settings is world scale not the same ipd you have for your headset. They should have just called it world scale Imo. I'll try 58 thanks because 55 does look a bit to big.
  8. Isn't active pause just hitting the Esc which was already mentioned, or is there another pause key on the keyboard? Great tutorial to get you going but is a bit silly making the text disappear so quickly.
  9. OMG - It's there plain as day and I manage to miss it. I've being playing DCS with this small cockpit all this time. Cheers! Edit - If I have an ipd of 65 what is a good ipd for world scale in the F18 Hornet? I've chosen a 55 ipd in DCS settings, but not sure if the cockpit is to big having never sat in a real F18?
  10. Tick the box on? What do you mean? There is no box to tick, or am I missing something here? Where do you tick this to on?
  11. I wish there was a way to change the world scale with HP Reverb. setting the ipd in VR settings in DCS does nothing to the world scale for me.
  12. Where do you set ipd in Steam VR? I don't think I've done set the ipd in Steam VR? Where in the Steam VR settings is it and is it necessary if you have done it in WMR Portal already?
  13. I'm just in the 3rd part of training on the F18 and was so please with it up until now. When I was learning the start up procedure the text of the instructor would pop up and only disappear when I pressed space bar, which was great because it gave me time to take it all in. Now I've reached the third part of training which is about the Tacan etc, but the text disappears giving me no time to look at the gauges and take in what the instructor is talking about? How can I keep the text up because this is driving me mad. I keep on having to start the training mission because the text disappears before I can see what he means?
  14. I see Mura in No Mans Sky sometimes, but that is just the HP Reverb and you have to get used it I'm afraid. Sometimes I see it in other games, but just like with screen door effect, I can over look it. I'm not sure what screens HP Reverb uses, but for it's price it's a decent headset even with it's Mura and all. I couldn't go back to having a lower resolution headset now after using this one.
  15. I don't think HP will continue to sell this VR headset for much longer IMO. With all the returns it's just not worth the hassle for them and I think that's why you see them sourcing parts for returns now. That's a real shame because we won't see another VR headset with this resolution for a good few years now. HTC Oculus and Valve want numbers in VR and are not interested in higher resolution headsets that require higher end graphics cards. There is always going to be slight problems with a headset with the HP Reverb's resolution and cheap price. Most of that cost will have been for the high resolution displays. I don't know I just think if people can't live with some of the problems, then it's not a product HP can continue to sell I don't think. I had a couple of issues with mine that I seem to have fixed now because mine to was on it's way back if not. I purchased a powered usb hub like I mentioned earlier in this thread and I tied the connector to the round headband at the back using cable ties. Yes the screens are not perfect for me either, but what you have to remember is that these were enterprise headsets that HP decided to let the consumer market have too. I don't think they were made with games in mind. I'm really happy with my HP Reverb despite some flaws. Because I know if HP stop selling these then I'm pretty much left with the crappy resolution of a Rift S and I won't see another headset like this for a good few years. I just hope HP can continue to sell them despite all the returns.
  16. I use the HP Reverb and my ipd is 65 for VR headsets. I changed the DCS in game VR setting ipd to 55 while flying the F18 and I noticed no difference to the world scale at all? How are you supposed to know if this is working or not? I would imaging the building would get bigger, correct? But they didn't. I even set it to something ridiculous like 559 ipd in the VR settings in DCS and it did nothing? Am I missing something here? When I have change world scale in other game in VR it's quite obvious to see, but I just don't see it happening in DCS. Any idea's? Cheers!
  17. Oh -You would think they would call it world scale because it totally confused me. Cheers!
  18. Great. Thanks! You would think it would be under VR though.
  19. I have a question about ipd regarding the HP Reverb. I have seen in some other threads that people are changing their Ipd settings for different planes. I saw one guy who's ipd is 63 change his ipd setting to 55 in DCS because he said it made his cockpit look like a doll house. I assume he meant it made it look small. So is this what you have to do in DCS? Set you ipd for different plane? I fly the F18 and I have an ipd of 65 so what should I set my ipd to make the cockpit look right?
  20. Can someone tell me where the setting for zooming in with VR is located? I can't find it in the VR tab?
  21. What was wrong with your other HP Reverb and was it the newer version? I'll have to listen for the birds chirping, but it is a bit daft having that if you can't turn them off. I like to work in desktop mode silently, if I wanted to hear birds chirping then I would open my windows at home early mornings.
  22. Thanks I'll take a look at that, but I have managed to fixed it now by plugging my HP Reverb usb into a powered usb hub. I did have it plugged into an inateck powered pic usb card, but the HP Reverb doesn't like this card it seems. I've had no problems with it now plugged into a powered hub instead.
  23. I have just opted into the Steam for Mixed Reality Steam VR Beta and now it is showing the correct percentages and is as smooth as butter playing DCS now. Wow -I'm really impressed with this now. Before I just tried to get used to ghosting and horrible fps, but there is none of this now with my Geforce 2080ti. They should hurry and take this out of beta so that people don't get the wrong impression about the HP Reverb. This is exactly what I was looking for in a VR headset for flight sims. I have chosen Steam VR beta as well though, so is there a reason to opt out of this if I'm not having any problems with it? Are there some issue with it that I don't know about Cheers!
