  1. I don't have HOTAS so I've not mapped anything. I think I already have "use mouse" enabled, but I will check. Thanks
  2. No, not quite the same as me. I don't see the cursor on the monitor screen when DCS is running in VR mode. Alt Tab restores it, so long as I don't make the DCS window the focus (which is no good when it is DCS I want to control!). I will try Alt Enter as suggested. Nigel
  3. Many thanks I will give it a try later. Nigel
  4. When I start DCS now it shows in a vertical window and the mouse cursor is not visible. If I change window (ALT-TAB) then the cursor is visible, but obviously not working in DCS. So I cannot select missions etc. Any thoughts how I get the mouse cursor to show in DCS so I can select and control when using VR. Thanks Nigel
  5. Thanks. The detail of the problem is that DCS opens as a tall narrow window when Vive VR is running and there is no mouse cursor anywhere on screen. If I switch windows Alt-Tab then the cursor reappears. I have restarted DCS without Vive VR running and it is full screen. I have looked at the confine mouse option and it is already checked! Nigel
  6. OK that's useful. Only trouble is to change anything e.g., settings in DCS I need to use the mouse first - which I can't do! Maybe I need to set it up without VR running and hopefully it will show normally on the monitor and allow me to setup these VR required settings. I look forward to being able to fly it in VR as you and others suggest it is special. Nigel
  7. I haven't been able to find a guide or a section in any other guide for how to use VR (the Vive in particular). I started up DCS and was immediately seeing it my headset! But I have no idea how to control it even, as I can't use the mouse as before. I'm sure there is a guide but I haven't found it. Any help please? Thanks Nigel
  8. OK many thanks to both for your quick answers. One further twist. I want to take advantage of the current deal buying one aircraft and getting the Nevada map for free. Would that change the install procedure? Thanks again Nigel
  9. I have tried to raise a support ticket on this, but they seem to get lost. I want to get the Nevada map, but it says that DCS v2.0 must be installed. However when I look at DCS v2.0 it shows that it requires the Nevada map!!! So which do I install first? As it seems that each one requires the other one to be already installed! Nigel
  10. I was pleased and pleasantly surprised to find that my basic Saitek controls worked with the default a/c in DCS 'out of the box'. But then I bought and installed the Hawk and found that there are no mappings. As it looks very difficult to set-up new mappings, can I at least copy those from the Mustang or Su25 to enable me to fly? I have looked and tried Save, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Thanks Nigel
  11. Thank-you all. I have now re-downloaded DCS and have removed it from Steam and run the install again. This time it is installed outside Steam. I have no reason for the previous install appearing in Steam. I certainly didn't choose it from Steam and definately downloaded it from Eagle (I remember it taking over 8 hours to download all the parts!). Anyway all is working now and I have been able to install the aircraft (modules) that I bought. Thanks again Nigel
  12. Sorry, I thought I had given sufficient detail for the problem I was asking about. The problem - my DCS install is under Steam - shows in the Steam library and runs only from the Steam folder in my start menu. I d/l the install files from the DCS site NOT Steam (7 files took over 8 hrs to d/l). So the question is how is it that it is appearing under Steam? The subsequent problem is that, as Support tell me, I cannot install modules d/l from DCS into the 'Steam version'. But as I say above I never d/l or intentionally installed the 'Steam version'! I am loathed to spend another 8 hrs d/l again if I am going to find again that it has installed under Steam and I can't install the modules I have bought. Hopefully that explains better? Thanks Nigel
  13. I d/l and installed DCS World from the DCS site (all 7 files) about 2 months ago. Now I come to add in some aircraft I am finding I can't and it seems, from what I read, that I my DCS World is now linked to Steam and I can't add the aircraft modules I download from this same site! How come my DCS World has been linked to Steam (and blocked) when I d/l it from this site?! Thanks Nigel
  14. Thanks to all for your quick replies. I will use the pointers you have given me. Nigel
  15. I haven't yet found any user manual for the DCS program itself. i.e., how to set-up for my PC with my controls etc. Can anyone point me to it? Nigel P.S. I installed thru' Steam and so I do not have an install folder.
