No offense taken, however I do disagree. If the C in DCS was really all that important, i doubt they would bother adding a 100 foot sling cable to begin with. most sling loads done by the military (U.S. at least) don't use long lines for combat support operations. To take it even further, why bother modeling the H model UH-1? historically speaking, there are very few examples of the UH-1H being used as a gunship, I can only think of one country who did it in any real capacity. If they were that concerned with it being a pure combat simulator, why not do the C or M model UH-1 instead, variants of the Huey that were deliberately modified by request of the Army to be used as gunships?
I see what you're saying, but they kicked the door open by adding a utility helicopter. That door was further propped open when we were given a complete non combat map to fly it in with 12 civilian airfields and airports that serve no combat purpose. I don't think its unreasonable to expect the utility helicopter we were sold to be able to do utility things. There haven't been any wars fought in Las Vegas, so why not sling load some cargo?
