  1. This looks like this may actually be the case as the same mission at roughly the same time point appears to not have the same effect when the new cloud template is in the sky. It may also be that the new clouds inhibit light properly while the old ones do not. So for those having issues with the water reflections, it may be a case of monitoring what cloud template you're using in your mission on 2.7 - with no cloud template, it does appear that there is a water reflection/light status reflection issue.
  2. I think there's a issue with reflections as well in that they appear to be reflecting a generic skybox and not the actual lighting. For instance, in these screenshots taken at sunset they don't appear to be reflecting the sunset, but rather a blue-sky mid-day sun. There doesn't appear to be any of the orange hues of the sky actually in the water, resulting in a sort of odd paradox between what the water's doing and what the sky is doing. It just looks plain funky given there are no light sources to be causing this effect on the water. Oddly, it seems like it hits this the closer it gets to sunset. Up until sunset the lighting appears to be fine. Edit: I do want to point out, this screenshot appears to be set up with the old clouds. When I took a look at the mission, I noticed it did not have a cloud setting. So this may in fact be a bug between how the sim is currently using old and new clouds. The water may be attempting to reflect the new cloud engine while using the old clouds in the sky. I'm attempting to watch the same effects with a cloud setting to see how the water changes.
  3. This is probably a stupid question - but is there zero keyboard control? (For the anticipated reaction comments, I'm using a Warthog HOTAS) I'm okay with not having stick control via arrow keys, but I do once in a while use numpad +/- to control thrust on the ground when I'm in VR. Not a big deal if it's missing, but it's definitely an adjustment to not being there.
  4. When this comes out, are we allowed to contact VEAO and tell 'em a handful of unpaid modders did it better? (Just kidding.)
  5. Just realized the other day after I wanted to go fly the Yak in some VFR around Nevada that it's not showing up in the list of aircraft on the QMB or as an aircraft in the mission list. This is in most recent version of Open Beta. Oddly, it is selectable and flyable in the mission editor. Antivirus/Malwarebytes, etc is off. Clean install of DCS, no mods, tried removing and reinstalling the Yak by itself, but no joy. Any ideas?
  6. As above - for some reason, I can't seem to select the Yak-52 as a flyable aircraft in the QM builder. If I build a mission using the mission editor, it adds from the list just fine. No mods installed, AV software disabled. Was it removed from the QM builder list for some reason?
  7. Confirmed - when Malwarebytes came back on, it flagged the F5E.dll. It was Malwarebytes segregating the file and I imagine leaving DCS without a way to security check the aircraft's legit installation/ownership.
  8. Disabling malware appears to have resolved it. Very odd, it wasn't affecting it yesterday. Was able to load into both a single mission and a quick mission with the F-5E. I'll update if anything changes.
  9. I do indeed have malwarebytes. I'll disable and run the loop again and let you know what I get - currently running it with other aircraft, nothing yet.
  10. It should be noted that this is with a quick mission, I did not get a chance to try it with a mission of another type. I tried a couple different maps - caucauses, nevada, syria.
  11. Interesting repeatable bug happening on most recent version of Open Beta. Attempting to fly any mission with the F-5e results in a crash to desktop at approximately 80% of loaded mission. What's interesting is that upon returning to DCS afterwards - the F-5e no longer shows up as a selectable aircraft or as an aircraft in the list at the bottom of the screen (neither activated nor deactivated icon shows up.) In the module list, it still shows up as available and activated. Deactivating and reactivating doesn't change anything. Uninstalling the module then reinstalling the module resets the scenario to the beginning where it will crash on mission load again. I haven't been able to get the crash to work with any other aircraft, but the only aircraft I've tested since then is the Jeff. I removed all mods and did a clean install with a new saved games folder and a complete reinstall with just the F-5E and it continues to happen. I think it's likely linked to a change in the new patch as I was flying it sometime in the last few days - I believe Thursday or Friday at the earliest. dcs.log-20210308-065116.zip
  12. I believe that may be the depth of field bokeh filter, distant objects become blurry in the 3rd person view for effect. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  13. I can only hope against hope that some sort of favor can be passed on by ED for those who purchased the previous Hawk without somehow taking anything away from what VNAO has earned. VNAO's Hawk already stands above and beyond, so they certainly deserve all the credit and compensation they ask for. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  14. I'm not sure its an issue with just the Harrier, but I agree, it has too much turbine whine. I've noticed that for most aircraft, there seems to be an overpronounced turbine whine. This is especially prevelant when you're in a 3rd person camera in front of the aircraft looking backwards. Once you move to a rear view, the boom of (other) jets cover the turbine. This has led me to believe that the turbine whine is actually meant to be this loud due to part of the 3D sound engine. Possibly even legacy code from the original A-10 module to get the whining pass they're known for. Problem is, this makes certain jets overly whiny when they approach from certain aspects. The C-101 is also victim to this. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  15. I think this whole side of the mod page is just waiting for this thing to drop with the patience of a cat who just saw a bird. As one of the folks who flew the [redacted] before it was [redacted], I'm super stoked to be flying a version of it again.
