  1. I am on the open beta, weird thing is, first time I flew it (and couldn't get the guns working) it all worked. fine. Now I have the guns working (and don't do anything different) it doesn't work I'll give it another go now! I just have to join up behind them? Or is the trigger time based so it doesn't matter where I am? I do get the radio message saying where the bombers are etc, but the 109s just keep circling
  2. I am having problems with Mission two. I get airborne and join up with the flight overhead the airfield. We then get a message to fly heading 060 and climb to 7000m to intercept the bomber, but the flight just keeps wildly circling overhead the airfield and never sets off to intercept. I stayed with them for 20 minutes before giving up. I have tried a couple of times, but they just stay circling?? Thanks for any help,
  3. Thanks chaps. That did the trick (although I can't work out why the guns wouldn't fire if you don't charge the cannons). Now I have the next problem. I get airborne and follow my leader. We get instructions to fly heading 060 and climb to 7000 to intercept the bombers, but the whole flight of 109s just keep flying wildly overhead the airfield and never continue on with the mission?????
  4. Hi everyone! I have just got into DCS (after a few years away) and I thought I would fly the Jagdflieger campaign in the 109. I have got to mission two (which starts cold and dark on the ramp). But after start I am unable to fire the guns/canons. I have checked everything. The cover is flipped on the stick, the switch on the top left of the dashboard is up, but I can't fire. If I start one of the missions in the air (like the Ju88 escort mission on the channel map) it all works fine. But from Cold and Dark on the ramp I cannot get the guns/canons to fire. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Neil
  5. Just been flying the training missions to get back into the Dora (after a year away) and I can't seem to be able to turn off the rudder help on the ground. In the special menu of the Dora I have reduced the slider on the takeoff assistance from 100 to 0, but the rudder pedals are still jiggling away compensating automatically. How do I turn this off (the slider seems to have no effect). Thanks! ps. this aircraft is awesome in VR!!!!!
  6. Just opened DCS again, and the Mig-21 is missing from the icons at the bottom and when you try and select a mission it isn't listed, but the log file shows that the module loaded? dcs.log
  7. Just found the logs (dcs-2 is the dcs.log.old, it would not let me upload a .old file) dcs.log dcs-2.log
  8. Just come back to DCS after some months away, and spent some time flying the UH-1 and BF-109 (all worked fine). Then went to try my favourite module, the Mig-21, and it loaded up ok, but there was no interaction with the cockpit. Mouse highlighted the switches ok, but I couldn't click them. Also, the joystick wasn't moving. I restarted DCS and the whole Mig 21 module was missing (the icon was even missing at the bottom of the home screen). Did a repair, and the Mig-21 re-appeared, but again, no interaction. Quit DCS and again the module disappeared. Anyone have any suggestions? All other modules running fine
  9. Ok, I found the command mode (not Auto mode as I remembered incorrectly). I now have a wildly flickering horizontal needle whilst on the LOC (although the LOC indicator at the top is still reversed) It used to work really well (but this was years ago). I just need to train my mind to reverse all the years of flying and pretend I am on an old fashioned Back Course).
  10. If you set the autopilot to command mode, does this not engage the autopilot, which would mean you can’t fly manually following the FD? (As the Autopilot would automatically follow it)
  11. I tried the training mission and still the same thing happening. Also, as mentioned, the flight director just turns off when you switch to Land mode.
  12. I tried setting it in both directions for each of the runways, but it didn’t help. In approach mode it shouldn’t make a difference anyway?
  13. I select the correct channel for Krymsk, but regardless of which runway I approach, the yellow LOC needle always deflects the wrong way (it says I am to the left of centre line when I am to the right) and the yellow flight director bars just stay centred. I have not flown the Mig for a while, but when I remember (a few years ago when I flew it intensively) you used to be able to fly IFR approaches down to the ground using the Flight Directors in approach mode.
  14. Yes, the switch is in the right mode. By selecting it to approach/land mode the two ILS bars (showing LOC and GS) come alive, but the flight directors turn off and just sit crossed in the middle. I seem to remember from earlier versions, the Flight Directors also worked in Approach mode?
  15. I have been away from DCS for about a year, but have just returned. Flying my favourite bird (joint first with the UH-1), I have noticed a few things in the latest version. When I switch to land mode on the RSBN, I no longer get any flight director deflection, just the raw GS/LOC data. Also, the cockpit in VR is now a lot more difficult to work with. The yellow bars for LOC/GS are almost unreadable, and the nightlighting is nowhere near as nice as it used to be. Thanks for any help, Neil
