The Motion Integrated G-Seat
RabidRider replied to Bergison's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
A1) Like I wrote in a previous reply, the price I expect to pay would be similar or more than simxperience GS-5, so 3-3500 EUR. I would even be willing to pay 5-6k too, seeing as the Bergison seat seems more complex than the GS-5, price would be similar then to nextlevelracing products. Maybe you could offer a less complex seat for 3k and a more expensive full option version. B) Belgium DIY kit with all parts, I´d be willing to pay 1500 EUR. -
Shakersynth - Bass Shaker Synthesizer
RabidRider replied to Jarpy's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Happy to test it Jarpy! -
I'm very happy with my crosswind pedals, but I'd like to try a little experiment and use the toe brakes as the rudder (more like the VKB rudder). Is this possible? I tried setting both brakes as rudder under controls, but that just doesn't work properly. Each brake just covers the whole range of the rudder, so depressing the brake is full left rudder, releasing it, full right rudder.

Hey Chickenbone72, Will check and see later tonight. Yes, I always use note++
-
Hey tekadept, Ok, I'll try out those steps. I only thought that this approach wasn't necessary, seeing as I have, and had DCS installed in the default directory.
-
I only bought the panel, didn´t build it, so I have no idea as to the code involved. What do you mean with default and IRQ?
-
@MustangSally I´m trying to get my tekcreations panel to work with the Huey. I saw that link you provided but I reinstalled DCS openbeta to the default path, so I don´t think Fedaykinwolf´s advice will help me. Here´s where I just installed DCS: "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS_updater.exe" I also reinstalled DCS-BIOS-Hub-Setup-v0.10.0 to C:\Program Files\DCS-BIOS\ I click open web interface, then in the browser, com3 is highlighted green and is connected. Virtual cockpit is not however and under lua console > status, DCS connection remains greyed out. I found another thread where someone installed an older version, but there´s no instructions it seems on how to install these (version 7 was mentioned in the thread). Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. I have no idea why it´s not working. Lua line was also in the export lua file so ...

I'm at a loss too. Bought a Tekcreations Huey panel. Tried installing everything according to the online BIOS guide but no connection. I just reinstalled DCS Openbeta in the default folder (I assume the above advice shouldn´t apply in this case?): "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS_updater.exe" Then reinstalled DCS-BIOS-Hub-Setup-v0.10.0 to C:\Program Files\DCS-BIOS\ Is this the right install directory? I click open web interface, then in the browser, com3 is highlighted green and is connected. Virtual cockpit is not however and under lua console > status, DCS connection remains greyed out. I have no idea what to do.

Spitty, do you intend to model, build the whole thing?

Which CPU/GPU with which G2/Q2 to get the best VR so far.
RabidRider replied to Nalfeyn's topic in Virtual Reality
I have a 2080 and a 9700 running at 4.9 Ghz. Which one would give me better FPS, smoothest experience, the G2 (at lower render resolution) or the Q2+link cable? Thanks. -
Hi Lombra, I had more or less the same issue as you have. The sound module is working now, though im still not sure how I got it working, got rid of that same issue. First thing I did was use the onboard realtek soundcard for the soundmodule, before that i used a cheap external usb. so now the game sound goes through the usb one. Next thing I did was make sure that all anti-virus/firewall programs had the sound module excluded, I had windows firewall running and kaspersky. That seemed to have done the trick for me. Hope it helps.

Ok, thats good to know. I´m going to preorder one! Thanks.

My CPU (9700) runs at 4.8 GHz, GPU is a regular 2080. 32G ram. Can I expect perfectly playable fps with the G2?

Hi f4l0, I tried the soundmodule with my external USB soundcard. In the ASIO4ALL panel the USB card is highlighted. If I start the Sound Module however, I get a notification saying: 'NaudioPlaybackEngine: please check if required ASIO driver is presented' Closing and restarting the ASIO4ALL panel (with the Sound Module window still open) the USB card in the ASIO window gets crossed out. In that case ASIO recommends you to check if the soundcard is not used by another program (which I think is not the case) and disable 'Microsoft GS-Wavetable (I did). Still the same message in the Sound Module however. I also tried deleting and reinstalling ASIO (2.13) with the Sound Module still running. However, hitting the reinstall button (to version 2.14 of ASIO4ALL) I get an error saying "error opening file for writing: Program Files (x86)\ASIO4ALL v2\asio4all.dll. Closing the Sound Module and retrying the installation then works. Same thing when watching a youtube clip. Switching the sound from my realtek speakers to the USB card and amp. with the Sound Module still open, I get an error message on the youtube window. So it appears that the Sound Module is using the asio4all.dll driver afterall. Maybe I should buy another internal (this time) soundcard, that ASUS Xonar? Ext. USB one I have now is a startech one. I have no idea what's wrong. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cool! In the process of hooking up my transducers to SSA and the soundmodule (just need a few more pieces of hardware), but something like this is really what I was looking for. I even made a few enquiries if the soundmodule could work like this. Can't wait to try it out with the Huey. -
In-Game Scratchpad Mod Available - Works Great In VR!
RabidRider replied to Fubarbrickdust's topic in Virtual Reality
Is this mod still being updated? Installed everything correctly AFAIK, but I can't see what I'm typing, and the numeric keys are obscured as you can see. If I close DCS and go to the text file, my typing did get saved. https://www.dropbox.com/s/3mxeloyndfbd81s/Screen_200913_161506.png?dl=0 -

RabidRider replied to Habu23's topic in Wishlist
It just feels sluggish, not being able to pull decent AOA. Hope they fix it so it better matches the real thing. Thank OP for pursuing this further. Great module will hopefully become better. You can do it ED -
