  1. That makes sense. Still I think it is a bug that the further heading AP compensates the more pedals you have to apply to disengage AP, IRL it happens as son as you tuch pedals.
  2. This is the most annoying. While flight tech. adjust pitch and bank channel so it prevents from reaching full authority he does not care about heading channel. Why is that? Heading channel act funny anyway it is unusable. I work around the faulty flight tech and heading channel with the pedals: when I see that AP is nearing authority I apply pedal to the direction AP compensates and trim, helo wont turn but channel goes to neutral. Basically I do (adjust heading channel with pedals and trim) what the tech. supposed to do. It is annoying to say the least. Also noticed that the more the headin channel is out the more you have to apply pedals to make change in headings (AP switches off). Which isalso annoying and dangerous in real lifethe moment you touch pead the AP disengages regardless to the ammount of correction it applies. Otherwise mi-8 is awesome... just pleasemake tech. adjust heading also
  3. Thanks. An other promise, I have tons of them :) The mods will work without any magic (or extra pay) in DCSW2?
  4. Has anything happened with this? It is the eights months. I have not played with this game for ages as this ASP issue is so annoying.
  5. Whazup people? Any progress? Or LN is busy to launch an other half (and never ever to be) finished product or what? :)
  6. I dont think there would be a problem with the overall graphical quality of the product, that is a strong side of LN but not so much the working of the aircraft systems. The Mig has quite simple systems and LN was not able to implement those accuratelly. Take a look at the bugs and problems threads at the Mig forum. If only I saw one single finished product from LN I would believe that they are capable to put a real beast together like the tomcat...
  7. Where can I find these skins?
  8. OK lets make it clear: 1. In A-A "GUN" "AUTO" mode: yes the ASP computes based on target distance if it is locked, contrary to LNs implementation. 2. In A-A "Missile" mode: no he ASP does not compute any distance no radar is needed and no fancy circle is drawn around target in ASP, it is only beep and launch authorized light, contrary to LNs implementation. There are additional minor things: 3 the left black distance range meter is not implemented correctly (it works like the "lazur" system it is updated with data from the ground controll not from radar) 4. the transparent distance meter is also incorrect it does not show distance whatsoever I am not a perfectionist I would be happy if LN fixed the first one, which is most annoying and makes the game unusable, and if they have some time between two professional discussions with "real mig-21 pilots" they could also fix the 4th one which would be a great help.
  9. I mapped the trim to the mouse wheel on the throttle. Works fantastic. I rarely trim: usually push recovery mode for a while and disengage it and it trims the plane nicely.
  10. iiozic: For the record: I have no idea how the modern planes do that, to have a debate with me on that would be fruitless :) One thing is for sure the Mig does not do that. No fancy circle around planes on the ASP, nothing just plane beep in the helmet indicates lock, thats all. I have no idea where leatherneck got this mess called ASP from, when it is a pretty well documented issue as discussed here.
  11. Every side in conflict exadurates wins and diminishes losses, that's how it is: like talking about a fight in a bar to friends. I have read numoerous accounts on vietnam losses and it is ridicoulous how far the numbers are from each other based on sides. One thing for sure NEVER believe anything to someone who is on either side.
  12. Not really Dun. Though the reason might be is that father is not a computer fun at all. He thinks it is a childish toy :)
  13. In fact he said that it was very rare to use any channel at all even at long flights because the AP is too "sensitive" he said. When you otherwise would let the plane to move naturally because of some wind disturbances the AP compensates. It tries to be way too "smooth" flier for his taste. However the heading channel comes handy when some precision landing must be done because it keeps the planes nose "rock solid" even when collective input. The sim however lets the yaw change when collective input.
  14. He did not fly it I just showed him. He flew the "old" Mi-8 not the MTV2. He said in level flight AP is fine but when you disturb level flight or hover with lets say collective input (both raise or lower) he was surprised that the nose went sideways, he said such thing did not happen. Also he was surprised that with altitude channel on I could gain or loose altitude with pitch, he said no such thing is possible: if you keep inputs small it will maintain level if too much pitch input AP disengages. He has some 4000 hours on it, so I tend to believe, just I tought let you know.
  15. It is impossible to finish I think. It gets closer and closer to the real one based on inputs of users and devs and one day something better comes up for that era (Mig-23 for DCS world 4.0 :)), and our love slowly dies :( I think it irrelevant to call beta or even missleading: it is always beta and never. I flown this beauty from the begining, I think it never was classically beta it kinda always worked on me, it did its job (exept for the ASP which is still a mess :))
