  1. Hi guys: I don't know if this proper thread to reach out for guidance but, here it goes. I'm new to DCS-Bios and, I've got a problem loading the latest version. I received my new TekCreations F18 UFC last month and, as instructed, I downloaded DCS-Bios and configured it accordingly. Everything was working perfectly. However, after loading the latest DCS update, it all went to hell in a handbasket. TC support has been really responsive but, I when I checked on my DCS-Bios config I found I could no longer access the DCS-Bios Hub to verify my plugins and connection (see attached screen snip). I could really use some help to get this program back up and running. Thanks in advance for your assistance.
  2. An external Pilot Salute view is an excellent idea. And with Vaicom and Voice Attack you can map the salute command to whatever floats your boat or, in this case, whatever gets you off the boat. For me: "I'm Going Downtown".
  3. Yeah Impalor, the Window's speach engine doesn't play nice with Bailey's profile or, for that matter - others. However, since I 'm into the tactile feel of buttons and switches on my TM Cougar MFD's and F/A-18 Stick along with the WinWing Super Taurus Throttle setup, I only use VCP/VA for comms. All-in-all, after you train it up for voice recognition, its a great sense of immersion.
  4. And BTW Greyman, VCP is a VC plugin- so you need Voice Attack to run it. And correction on my last - it's AIRIO and, not Aero. I'm exclusively a Hornet driver and not a Tomcat guy.
  5. My bad Greyman. You're absolutely right. Bailey's mod is a Voice Attack Profile. What I was trying to pass along, without getting into the weeds, is that Vaicom affords seamless PTT functionality without having to deal with menus - which I believe was Sambuca's interest. To cut to the chase. Get Vaicom Pro, download a suitable Voice Attack Profile, add your own custom commands if you like and, you're good to go. I've been using VCP for about two years now and, IMHO, it's a must have. And definitely consider the Chatter and Aero packs as well.
  6. With Vaicom Pro you can create your own unique profiles based on a module's comm menus. But to take it to the next level, I suggest you look into Bailey's F18 Vaicom Pro Mod. He's got everything in it, including voice activated commands for avionics and weapons. I think he's even mapped one for a piddle pack (sic). He's got a YouTube video showcasing his mod as well. Fly safe and healthy and, don't soil your flight suit.
  7. A fantastic piece of work lee1hy. Any thoughts on adding a Marine skin to your livery set? I'd love to get a VMFA-314 Black Knights rendition of this. In any event - its mind blowing. We've come a long way since Jane's F/A-18. Keep up the excellent work. And I agree - ED should put you on its payroll - like yesterday.
  8. Thanks forgetting back to me BIGNEWY. Will do. I'll head to the multimonitor section and post my issue as suggested. Stay safe and healthy.
  9. Thanks for the explaination BIGNEWY. I'm getting the same warning, and thought it was a bug in the 2.5.6 OB. BTW. I have another problem that I've been trying to troubleshoot. I have a 4 screen layout (34" main monitor, 32" second monitor and, 2x 8" and 7" Touchscreen displays, respectively). My second monitor is dedicated to HELIOS instrument exports and, L&R MFD's and AMPCD Viewports. While, I'm able to open my HELIOS profile for instrument display, my MFD's & AMPCD are not loading to the second monitor. This is only happening with the 2.5.6 OB as, all my exports (HELIOS & Viewports) render perfectly in the 2.5 Stable version. Maybe this is not the appropriate thread for this issue but, I thought that as you are an ED Community Manager you may be privy to this issue in the OB.
  10. Hi Hornblower. I'm Golden. Followed your instructions and, after a number of test flights with full comms, I'm now back in business As it turned out, I already had Skatezilla's app so it was no problem doing the repair. However, like the last time I put it in motion, it broke my HELIOS setup. Fortunately I backed up my lua files. Since I'm also in lock down, I'll start the scratchpad & kneeboard build tomorrow. In closing, thanks a bunch for your help. Will keep you abreast of developments. Have a good one. Mike
  11. Don't know how that smirking smiley mug got in there. Gremlins - I swear. My dedicated Aircraft is the F-18.
  12. Hornblower and MAXstenna - "I'm Back". Got VCP working with DCS for a few seconds before it ceased taking commands. No recognition whatsoever, with the exception of the audio cues upon Hotas PTT Hat switching. Also, note that, similar to Lt. Spoon, I've haven't been able to get the Config window to show my A/C (F18) while in game or, out. Something is wrong, somewhere - probably DCS. Again, I'm running DCS's Stable V 2.5.5.41371. I've been going back and forth all day in the VA and VCP manuals, as well as, YT vids, VA and Vaicom forums and Acord sites. No joy. I'm feeling like I need a compass, map, Boy Scout and, a seeing eye dog to lead me out of this maze. HELP - would, again, be appreciated. BTW Hornblower thanks for Scratchpad link and your profile. I plan on moving forward on that project as soon as I get this glitch fixed. Thanks for your continued support.
  13. Hi Lt. I've been afflicted with the same problem for sometime now. In fact, my config window doesn't even show my go to module (F/A-18), although I have it mapped accordingly. Now that I've sorted out a number of other VA and VCP issues, I'll be doing a deep dive into this. If and when I figure it out, I'll pass along my findings. Also look to MAXStenna and Hornblower793 for helpful advice. They are the best. Hang in there and, stay safe. Mike
  14. Hornblower, Here's another pic with the MFD's displayed.
  15. Thanks for the heads up Hornblower. I'd certainly welcome any assistance you can provide with my scratchpad setup. I'll also look into Sydy's Kneeboard Builder app as well. Sounds pretty cool. I'm a hands on guy and therefore am not into VR. I like the tactile feel of pushing buttons and flicking switches. I've attached a pic of my modest poor man's sim pit below to give you a visual of my setup. I know I'm going to encounter some hurdles with the Android but, I think I have an idea on some work arounds - we'll see. Thanks again buddy and, hope to chat soon. Have a great day.
  16. Correction on my last. 2TB SSD. In fact, I think I'm going to have to move the DCS World Stable V from my main 500GB SSD to the secondary 2TB SSD. Even though I got rid of a lot junk on my main drive, I'm running out of free space. You know I've got to get ready for the Super Carrier release. I've been on the pre-order list from literally - Day One - and, I can hardly wait to take my Hornet to the next level. Keep us flying guys.
  17. Hi Hornblower and Max. I worked it out with your guidance. As you both observed, I had multiple conflicting VCP profiles which prompted me to do a deep dive into my entire system's directories and associated file structure. Man, I felt like a hoarder. So I've just spent the last few hours moving a number of files to my second 1TB SSD and deleting un-used apps. In any event, I'm back in business. But, I have to start giving my baby some TLC. It's like a woman. If you don't give her continous attention, she'll make your life misserable. Thanks guys - your the best. Now onto my next quest: to develop a Voice Attack envoked scratchpad and kneeboard and get them to render on an Android Tablet. I'm certain I'll be back for advice if I run into more issues. Best regards and, to you and yours, stay healthy and safe. Mike
  18. Attaching My Saved Games Scripts Export Lua for additional review.
  19. Thanks Hornblower and Max for chiming in on this issue. I'm running DCS Stable V 2.5.5.41371 and last week's OB V 2.6 update. Additionally, I've been getting bombarded with recent Voice Attack and Vaicom updates and have loaded each of them as presented. I've attached layouts below, which I snipped a few minutes ago, for your review. I've mapped VA's TX switches as instructed - removing the Start/Sop Listening lines in each TX Edit Command box. Note also, that I'm unable to bring-up my Vaicom Configuration Window. Again everything was working until this last Vaicom update a couple of days ago. I also have multiple Vaicom Profiles which I'm going to delete. I also deleted the VCP export lua in my Saved Games DCS Script export.lua, hoping it would correct this issue. No joy. Again thanks for your help. You guys are the best. I'm at my system now waiting for a reply if you guys are still available and have the time. Chat soon.
  20. Also sent an email and, I'm excited about it's upcoming release.
  21. Hi guys. I need some help. Since the recent DCS, VA and , VCP updates, I can't get my comms to work. It was good to go before - now nothing. I'm dumping everything below with the hope that someone can make sense of it and, offer a fix. Thanks in advance and, everyone try to stay healthy and safe. 22. Greetings everyone. Hope all is well with you and yours. I've been simming since the 90's, starting out with an IBM XT and then onto an AT running Jane's Combat Simulator and a few other sims. When I look back at the hx of the combat flight sim genre, including GA applications (MSFS, X-Plane and, Prepared), along with incredible advances in computing technologies and associated flight sim accessories, the genre's evolution has been absolutely phenomenal but, also fraught with peaks and valleys . As a mud-Marine veteran with combined active and reserve service, I envied those in an MOS placing them in the sky above as opposed to the mud below. I'm not going to judge who had a better time of it, as we all faced equal challenges in our own way - I think with equal measure and trepidation. I lament that when I transitioned from the Active NCO ranks to the Reserve Officer Corps and was afforded the opportunity to re-enlist and enter flight school, I allowed my wife to influence my decision to remain a ground pounder - albeit P/T. But choices have consequences. So here I am in the twilight of my years, pursuing flight sim indulgence with abandon and delight - often with the enmity of the old lady. Over time I've developed an affinity for the Hornet - it's my go-to AC. And ED has delivered a fantastic product, although its still a WIP. I jumped on the SC pre-order on the first day it was announced. Naturally I'm a bit disappointed at the delay. It will be a game changer for F/A-18 and F-14 fidelity. But, I'm mindful of my experience in the Corps and early introduction to Murphy's Law - If it can go wrong, it will. In MHO, ED will ultimately get it right and it will all work out for the better. So if its SNAFU, for now, ruck up and keep it moving people. :pilotfly: i7-6700K @ 4.0 GHz 4.01, 32 Gb Cosair Vengence RAM, Z170A Gaming Pro MOBO, ASUS Nvidia GTX 2080 Super Edition, DELL U3415W 34” Curved Screen Monitor (3440x1440), LG IPS LED 32” Monitor (1920x1080), ASUS VT207 19.5” Touch Screen Monitor (1920x1080), MIMO UM-760C (1024x600 Capacitive) 5” USB Touch Screen Monitor, Lilliput 8" USB Touch Screen Display, Samsung Galaxy TAB A 10.1” Touch Screen Android Tablet, TM Cougar HOTAS &, TM Warthog HOTAS (using Warthog FCS & Cougar TQS w/ TUSBA TQS R2) with TM F/A-18C Hornet add-on Stick, TM TPR Rudder Pedals &, SIMPED-Vario Rudder Pedals w/RUSBA R2. 23. Hi Guppy. I just sent you a pm on this exact topic. Would welcome a how to video.
  24. I'm using BlueFinBima's HELIOS UFC profile on a Lillyput 8' USB Touchscreen Display. Will your UFC version work with this display?
