  1. I didn't want to get the Corsair II thread to off topic, sorry, but Heatblur just announced today that the AI A-6 would be coming 'this summer' and we would be seeing more about it after the Typhoon gets nearer release.

  2. The Intruder is in the works from Heatblur they have posted on it being a confirmed module from them on a couple different forums. That being said it's not going to be cruising the DCS sky's for a few years at best. They have the Tomcat to finish, an unreleased AI KA-6 tanker that's been hiding in the clouds some were, the Phabulous Phantom quite obviously, working with True Grit on the Typhoon, and a couple unannounced projects that could come before or after the Intruder.
  3. Call me cynical, but purposefully keeping the detail area around where The Channel map are located lower than others, omitting landmarks, and certain airfields is an attempt to keep that module/map relevant. Having all of the development time that ED put into it washed away with the new map would hurt ED and Campaign makers to a certain extent.
  4. Ok, so I know I may be late to the party on the speculation on this image, but I didn't see any specific mentions of it in the forums here. Looking at Manitudes New Years post the two aircraft that are in silhouette of the red shell burst I casually thought, looking on my phone screen, of them as more Zero teasers. Now going back to them on my much larger monitor I started noticing more details that I missed. Looking more closely at the underside of the cowling there is a more prominent fairing there, the canopy was relatively frameless, the aerial mast behind the cockpit appeared in a different place, and the tail of the aircraft were very different from any Zero/Zeke model I'm familiar with. I know Magnitude and ED are working on multiple assets for the PTO including I think very obviously the AI Zero/Zeke is among many other assets, so is it possible they are hiding other AI fighters up their sleeve? My speculation here would be that they have an AI Ki-84 Hayate in the works in addition to the heavily teased Zero! Is anyone else seeing the same thing or am I completely off base here? 5. I should have mentioned this in the original post, but one of the observations that I have make in the mission is -21 uses his afterburner prolifically! Lol Just on the initial join up over the airfield -21 is in full burner and it can be hard to join up with him. Also after leaving the Admiral Kusnetsov Task Force he is in full burner until the join up with the Su-27 and Su-34's. Thank you very much for this Campaign Stone Sky it's really been fun and enjoyable flying, Cheers!
  6. While flying the 'Professionals' mission towards the end when we are ordered to orbit at 1000ft -21 does fine for a while, but inexplicably takes a nose dive into the ground. I'm assuming he is set to invincible because he starts bouncing and nosediving repeatedly for several minutes until he disappears! I'm not able to upload the track file, because even compressed it's over 50MB. If anyone can suggest an alternate I'll be happy to share them. https://www.facebook.com/100000072566262/videos/1224728594598755/
  7. No, the one I'm looking for is focused primarily on the Gau-8 and the A-10. It went very in depth on rounds fired vs. rounds on target, the effects of the particular rounds used, effective employment angles, and the like. This is an interesting PDF thank you for sharing it, I'll dig into it when I get some more free time!
  8. Ok, I'm looking for a particular study done by the Army and/or the Air Force on the effectiveness and accuracy of the Gau-8 mounted on the A-10 against armored vehicles. My key word search skills are remedial to say the least unfortunately. lol I know I've seen the study shared in a few posts and various places in the A-10 forum I'm just unable to find it. If your able to share it with me here it would be much appreciated! I've found the 'Coloring Book for A-10 Pilots' and am looking for something else. Thanks for any help!
  9. Every developer has a proprietary approach to how they code their modules which is as different as to how the various countries and manufactures installed and regulated similar engines. The coding for how ED developed the Merlin for the Mustang and the Spitfire is probably very different even though it was done by the same developer. I asked a similar question when back when the P-47 and the F4U were announced.
  10. Having the clock off seemed to fix the issue, but that begs the question as to why. Selecting the WW II coalition presets and changing the date to a 1940's time period should be right where the Skytrain operated. May be it has something to do with the Transport category disappearing all together in the 1940's and doesn't show back up until 1954 with the 'Clock' on.
  11. Using the 'Combined Joint Task Forces Blue' gives me an even shorter list, and still nothing with changing the coalition to the UK... lol The only time I can get the transport category to show up is with a "Modern" time setting, and the C-47 won't show there either.
  12. Anyone know why the C-47 won't show up in the mission editor regardless of the time period selected? I have the WW II Assets pack installed and the C-47 shows up in the encyclopedia. I've done a repair on the Open Beta also. When I go to the mission editor for the WW II era the transport category disappears, and no C-47.
  13. I don't even have stable installed on my machine, so I'm not sure that is it.
  14. I've been waiting on the F8F Bearcat since VEAO folded all those years ago..... This little beast held a Time to Climb record until it was broken by a jet nearly a decade later! I hope they can finish the Mod and maybe work towards a full module some day. I'd definitely be in line to buy the Bearcat if she ever became a reality in DCS!
  15. While it's nothing apparently game breaking I'm interested in why I'm getting this notification. After the completion of the FA-18 Hornet JDAM and JSOW tutorial sessions I get these 'question' notifications before I get to the debrief screen. Thanks for the help! I'm running an AMD Ryzen 5800x, 32Gb RAM, Radeon 6900x, and DCS is installed on a 1Tb M.2 drive.
  16. I've had the same issue among others. On hot starts if I have my Virpil T-50 at 'zero' the Hind collective will shoot straight up to the maximum position until I move the axis I have bound to the collective. One of the things I've observed to help here is set the throttle slightly off 'zero'. Once I started slightly advancing the axis very slightly before the mission start the Hind won't just leap into the air. I'm not sure how else to share this video as it's too large to upload to the forum. I've put a link to an video that shows the issues I'm experiencing since the testers are unable to reproduce it. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yxj4h-uvZiN7KUrEKfffH9_To4pxFW7X/view?usp=sharing
  17. Absolutely top notch work on the 3D model Fragger looking forward to seeing some of the textures you will be applying!
  18. I'm having a blast with the Thunderbolt, especially the early D-30, but I can't seem to get a good view of the reticle on the glass without having to do some finagling with my TrackIR. I have to hunch down then re-center the TrackIR, or stretch to very uncomfortable positions to get at least the bottom of the inner reticle ring on the glass. The head position from the D-40 and D-30 with the K-14 are great as you can utilize the majority of it without undue bobbing and weaving in the cockpit. It's only the Mk.8 that requires the armchair gymnastics to get a good view. The first picture is a neutral head position from my TrackIR. The second is a 'better' sight picture, I suppose what I feel what we should be seeing, after my duck and re-center technique. This view is nearly impossible to maintain for any length of time while flying because of the constant need to re-center the view once you get into a dogfight. I don't know the specifications of the 'correct' head positioning for the Mk.8, but it seems like we are sitting far too low in the cockpit. Is there a way to change the head position in the cockpit to get a better view without messing with something that will interfere with the server integrity checks, and will stay through updates. Barring I'm not completely in the wind about this could we get a stock view change from Eagle Dynamics that gives us a better sight picture through the Mk.8 reticle.
  19. That would explain why they aren't being recognized in the stores page for sure! Lol
  20. It's really amusing that this little bumble bee has drop tanks! Lol Thanks for the amazing work on the I-16 guys. Looking forward to future updates and announcements.
  21. I'd definitely support most modules from the 50's and early 60's! With the fourth gen American fighters pretty much filled in, and the fourth gen European and Russian fighters more and more unlikley due to restrictions of enough available public information to build a high fidelity DCS quality module. The Third Parties are going to have to start tackling earlier first, second, and third gen fighters to keep people purchasing full priced modules and pre-orders. The problem I recall facing these earlier fighters is the scarcity of aeronautical data on many of the airframes. When companies like Republic Aviation went out of business entire libraries of technical documents, wind tunnel data,... etc was figuratively put to the torch. This is one of the reasons I've seen in the various forums that lead to the lengthy development of the P-47 Thunderbolt by Eagle Dynamics. I hope we do see aircraft like the 'Mini Thud' in DCS in the future!
  22. So I've recently returned to the Harrier after a hiatus and naturally started going through the training missions. On Mission 14: Guns and Rockets I ran into a "feature" of the GAU-12 on the Harrier that I haven't noticed before now. I'm not a naturally quick shot when strafing ground targets, so I do what I usually do and that is throttle back as I begin my dive in to give myself a bit more time. As the gun pipper is finally winding down I depress the trigger and nothing happens! Did I not set something up correctly, was my Master Arm not on, etc.... After several passes of the same I hold the trigger down after pulling off target and jam the throttle forward! As the Pegasus winds up the RPM the Equalizer starts Brrrrrrring away, WTF! So I started playing around modulating the power settings with the trigger depressed and came the realization. DUH! The Equalizer on the Harrier is Pneumatically powered! If the Pegasus engine isn't producing enough excess air pressure the Equalizer can't operate! Sorry for the long narration of my problem, but it highlights my frustration. Can we get some BOLD text in the Training Mission and the Manual the spells this limitation out for the GAU-12 on the Harrier. If this is a 'feature' and not a bug, I really appreciate the dedication to detail. If I'm the only goof that is having this problem I'll take the hit, but has anyone else been frustrated by this and wonders what the hell was going on?
  23. I've recently been going through the Harrier training missions again and found myself in a bit of a odd situation that's repeated in the Instant Action Missions. Once you start the missions going into the Stores Page for the 2.5" rockets you are greeted with dash marks instead of the loaded rocket type. Digging in to the stock loadouts in the Mission Editor shows FFAR Mk. 1 HE loaded in the LAU-68's. Changing the rocket types to a listed type, the FFAR's aren't on the list apparently, then reloading the mission shows them being recognized on the Stores Page. I demonstrate this with the screenshot of the 68S's being loaded on one pylon and the mission loaded rockets on the other. My assumption is that in one of the updates the rocket types were updated and now the older missions that have the FFAR's loaded out aren't being 'recognized' as a valid weapon thus the dashes. A track file is attached please let me know if this is a bug or just something that is in the que to be updated. Thank you Missing Rockets1.trk
