  1. It looks like you have no MODs at all right now, and that shouldn't be a problem. I'm no expert but create a \mods folder inside \DCS.OpenBeta, then create a \aircraft folder inside \mods.

Then copy/paste your ZIP into \Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\aircraft and unzip it.

Probably not, (why would they), as they are making a full official 3rd party module. IE. No more updates for the MB-339 when it was going to be a full official module.
    Cheers!

Some updates might actually stir up more interest in a future PURCHASE for some people on the fence about it's value in the SIM. Eye candy screenshots aren't very convincing me in our digital world anymore, I'd prefer some functionality for known significant issues. Just an opinion...

Think thats where i copied it to, ill have a look. Does it matter if i drag it v's copying it? Also think i went C drive, programes, eagle dynamics, user, dcsworld open beta, aircraft. Thats off the top of my head

Probably easier to just copy the ZIP into C:\Users\[Username]\Desktop\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\aircraft   >> then unzip there. If that works you can go back and find where you put the Hercules ver 6.8.2 directory originally and delete it.

It's a free 3rd party Mod, not an aircraft (per se) so it needs to go to Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\aircraft\ directory. It does NOT belong in the C;\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\

I made the same mistake (several times 😟) until our esteemed colleague @Rudel_chw  got me sorted out. His instructions and suggestions led me to add a another 500GB SSD dedicated to EagleDynamics and free up the C:\

  4. @ASAP...........I'm sure they tested it somewhere along the way but I don't think it compares to rockets or Mavs because a) the gun smoke would defuse that tracer glare right in front of your face making it a bigger impairment, and b) the Mavs and rockets are firing from behind you, and to the side.

In any case I'm sure some creative genius could create a MOD that might simulate this spectacle. Might be fun to eval

  5. +1 if I got you folks correctly. I want to (hypothetically) build a template of a couple houses, next a restaurant, next a garage, next to a ....whatever, and save that on Syria. And then drop that same template on the Persian Gulf or Caucasus map. YES, that would be a time saving little trick similar to building a SAM site, FARP or ????

  6. Being a noob to this A/C and recognizing it's current dev state I have just a few quick questions/comments...other than it's a blast t o fly.

    No documentation at all?

No Position, Anti-Collision or Formation LIGHTS?

No TAD screen showing Mission Flight Plan? I'm still struggling with that whole display logic.

  7. @Timex3....I know NOTHING about this A/C, just started flying it a couple days ago....but.... Not sure whether certain skins are required but this was a simple one. It did NOT require a Ground Attack or CAS mission when I first did it.

Maybe you have an older version...this is v6.8.2 I d/l'd the other day.

  8. VAICOM doesn't use VA?  I thought VAICOM kind of resides inside or on top of VA, now I'm curious what else I've been missing, and maybe why my COMS can be a mess sometimes. I use a VAICOM profile inside VA. Is this 'old school' sh#t I've missed somewhere along the journey?

  9. @MAXsenna     I did with VA initially but requires a bunch of keybinds, and then I used a Shared Profiles to keep it separate it from Viacom DCS profile . Worked fine except some mentioned they didn't use VA so I went off on this route. I honestly don't know sh#t about 'DCS-BIOS' but willing to dive in to learn some more if you want to point me in that direction.

Thanks Rudel.......by the way.....impressive collection of skins there!!!!

That is quite remarkable, dare I ask how many terabytes there are😂

In any case I recently saw a thread discussing SSD/HD sizes, and people whining about skins they would never use occupying space. In that particular thread I stand with Rudel that we don't need some 'DCS Mod Global Skin Police' mandating what is possibly available but, with no disrespect intended, I certainly don't give sh#t about an F/A-18 skin from the non-existent Liechtenstein Navy. Then again, I might want C-130 decked out in red with green holly for Santa to fly from the North Pole.

My question is whether there is some small footprint 3rd party utility viewer available that could quickly display the various 'skinned aircraft' OUTSIDE of DCS, so people could delete them from \Liveries\[aircraft]\ directory.

I look at the DDS files with a common viewer XnViewer but can't really make heads or tails as to what this plane really looks like in a side profiled view like INSIDE DCS.

  11. @Sedlo...I started this little project off after reading VR folks complain about not having a WSO Startup and the challenges of swapping seats via keyboard WITH VR headsets on. I'm also too old & lazy to swap seats myself.

Initially I was planning to use VA but soon after my initial success I realized some folks don't use that either. I don't know how to write a 'batch routine', in DCS-speak, or how to implement but @Rudel_chw  gave me the clue of 'triggers' which I explored to come to this ending.

I am a secret member of a US based rogue band of mercenaries that fly quietly and independent of 'official' US military support...mostly. But we do have access to virtually all AC necessary for the tasks in hand. Hence, solo, single player simmin' is our creed (SSPS). But please don't tell anyone. 🤫🤣

  12. Negative on MIC WSO panel, my problem is ICS > (Stby-Auto-Man). I think it should be set to Auto at Startup but not sure.

Here are the WSO devices I'm activating at WSO Startup, only RED line is not successful. The current position of them in the images are AFTER my Triggers. The 4 displays are also on.

I'm using the NUCLEAR option!!!!! since it ain't used elsewhere that I know of. Simple MIZ attached, and appreciate any comments, suggestions, and critique

    1) Start in normal Front Seat and Trigger pops open the Nuke Switch Cover after 10s (just for testing).

    2) ARM the Nuke Switch, followed by a temp Tone and Msg (just for testing), then the BackSeat gets sorted out as planned.

  13. @Rudel_chw....I have an unused cockpit switch and have setup a series of Triggers as you suggested to do a basic WSO Startup procedure using:

X:COCKPIT PERFORM CLICKABLE ACTION & X: START LISTEN COMMAND ...so far works like a charm

I'm really not familiar enough with this aircraft and WSO but think I got enough started in the WSO seat to takeoff without hopping back & forth..

The only piece missing now is the WSO - Left Panel - ICS > Auto, (which may not be addressable at this time via keybind or trigger device).

It would be really nice if this could be somehow copy/pasted or 'templated' to another mission. I think that's part of what you were referring to in another ME Wishlist post the other day.

Thank you very much for your insights, suggestions and help...I've learned a lot from your responses.

However since many triggers make reference to Units, Groups and Zones, I believe that the best way to implement a trigger copy facility is by allowing Static Templates to include Zones and Triggers, in addition to their current Units and Statics.

@Rudel_chw...am I following your suggestion correctly here; an ability to create a Trigger Event or Events that are somewhat independent of the actual mission, something like a DLL, then it can be referenced or copy/pasted into other missions? Ex: a series of  X:COCKPIT PERFORM CLICKABLE ACTIONs that reference a Unit, that performs a series on instructions. Then can be introduced as a sort of 'block or batch' in another mission MIZ.
