  1. I passed this PO recently :joystick: When you connect to the boom the instructor says something like "Well done, there you go contact" You have to stay connected until he says "Try another attempt, blah, blah" those ten seconds feel like an eternity; and of course repeat 3 times. To learn how to air refuel I watched this video . Specially usefull is the tip on how to use the throttle, it's impossible to keep the same speed as the tanker so you have to make small changes to the trhottle all the time . Also it's very important to trim the aircraft so you don't have to wiggle the joystick too much. Lastly as they tell you all the time "fly formation with the tanker not the boom" I assume you are doing the air refueling during day time, wait for the fun when you have to do it at night Good luck
  2. Hello, just wanted to write a small appreciation note about this fabulous campaing. I finished the course a couple days ago and got my badge  Really enjoyed the campaing, it is challenging but not terribly hard; it has some issues but none is blocking the progress; the support from Sabre is really good, he promptly replies to any posts in this thread. The campaing is not a tutorial as many expect, me included, but using the youtube videos from Recon Stewart and the A10c manual as a learning reference, you get all the info needed to pass the missions. I already started the next qualification campaing (Advanced Aircraft Training Qualification Campaign ), suffice to say that things get hader there :joystick: Congratulations Maple Flag, keep it up.
  3. It works flying 500 feet bellow the assigned altitude as you said Sabre, it's no big deal for me just a small adjustment. Thanks for the quick response. You know what, I will go and buy the next campaing now they are discounted on steam. Cheers
  4. I'm having a problem in the practice mission of BFT05, at the beginning I'm asked to fly 300, angels 6, 200 knots, then when I get to angels 6, I'm asked to turn right to 040 and mantain angels 6 and 200 knots. I follow the directions to the letter but no matter what I do I'm told that I missed the angels 6 altitude and the mission is terminated. I tried several times and kept as close to the 6000 feet as I could, but I always get the terminate, terminate, terminate message. Any clue what migth be happening here? I have been enjoing the missions so far I it's a pitty I got stuck in such a silly thing.
  5. Thanks rrohde I don't know why but I had a hunch it was not a bug, at least not in DCS, may be it is in the real world plane. should I report this to the manufacturer ? :-)
  6. I was trying the renewed Mig 29 and found what seems to be a bug in the HUD. The speed indicator in the upper left corner shows 90 at start up and doesn't go bellow that number, it will go above when you increase the speed enough, but during taxi it always shows 90. If you enlarge the first picture in the first post of this thread you can see that the 90 was present back then. The speed indicator was find before 1.5 So, bug or feature?
  7. It's in replay mode, for example you can see the pilot moving his head side to side at 10 seconds into . He never moves it up and down though. I'm using Trackir.
  8. Thanks for all the replies, it always amaze me how knowledgeable you are in about all these details. I’m sure if I ask some crazy question like what’s the ideal pressure in the tires of the A-10C some of you will sure know, without even looking it up. Anyway back to the steering nose wheel. How about the russian planes, do they use differential braking?
  9. Just a quick question. When taxiing around the airport, if you use the rudder what you are really doing is steering the front wheel, right? because I don’t think that at such low speeds the rudder at the tail of the plane can have any significant effect for turning
  10. You might be interested in this video I recently made explaining a basic concept: waypoints and navigation modes.
  11. Hello, I came by to report a minor bug I found, that affects flaming cliffs 3. It was introduced in 1.2.15 alongside a new feature. According to the changelog for that versión: Added previous waypoint selection with [LAlt + '~']. If you press repeatedly the key combination, the assigned waypoint will jump to the previous one until you get to the starting waypoint, then it will jump to waypoint one, then to the starting waypoint, and so on. It jumps between starting point and waypoint 1. The key to select the next waypoint [LCtlr + '~'] doesn’t behave like this, it cycles through all the waypoints, and when it gets to the destination waypoint, it then jumps to the starting waypoint. If instead of cycling back through the waypoints, you do it through the airfields the problem doesn’t show up.
  12. Thank you guys. I knew about the kneeboard, although I never got to use it much; but was hoping the show routes button was functional too.
  13. Hello world (I should have started my first post like this) Anyway, to the point. Is there any way to see the route of your plane group in the map once inside a mission? I see there is a button up and left on the map view saying “show all routes” or something like that, but it doesn’t seem to do anything when pressed.
  14. Tacview is endeed amazing. When you are learning to combat it's a must have tool. Really easy to check things like the bug fix I talked about in my original post. Big  for the developer, here is his web page: http://lomac.strasoftware.com/tacview-en.php
  15. Thank you xxJohnxx, I didn't know how the replay system worked. Interestingly enough in external view (F2) I see the pilot moving his head left and right. I agree with you that the possibility to rewinding the track is a more useful feature.
