  1. Happening to a squadmate of mine, red axis mappings everywhere in axis.
  2. If im paying that much money i want elevators and hangar honestly down the road, if not at release Its meant to be supercarrier not lazy implementation carrier.
  3. Seems legit, thank you for the hard work and help offered. Would not be able to run or rp campaign without it.
  4. Try turning off windows defender real time protection. Its worked for me when I have encountered similar.
  5. Im having a similar problem with ONLY windows defender. Adding an exception for the whole folder nor EXE has helped - only explicitly stopping the real time protection makes a difference. It seems to affect missions that make heavy use of LUA scripts far more. It is very strange and very difficult to reproduce. Once it hits whatever triggers it, the game drops to super low FPS and even freezes. Stopping the real time protection causes the game to rapidly increase in FPS and work again. No other AV is on my system, so its super strange.
  6. My list for DCS at least. F14 by far the best. Strongest, with longest range and multi track and launch capability. Paired with strongest missile in the sim its a beast. Difficulty using it offset by fact you have an entire other person to use it. F18 / JF17 is next. Reliable, good controls, easy to lock and track. No nonsense does what you want when you want. FC3 radars are next. As above but slightly jankier. Close in dogfight modes scan very well. F15 has better radar than the migs and sus but not by much in practice. Usability wise i prefer the russian jets. Mirage. Janky, unreliable, weird multi readings for one contact per track if they overlap. Far better than it used to be but still not great. Useable but with lots of internal screamiing. F5. Best cold war radar modelled on aircraft rn. Does exactly what you want and is dependable in search for the area. Worse than modern radar but to be expected. Mig 21. Is useful only in conjunction with GCI, unlike F5 above. Only useful if you know enemys position otherwise a liability that serves to give your position away. Mig 19. Glorified targetter for weapons only. No point searching with it. Awfully susceptible to ground clutter. Is very early radar so not much to be expected. Not listed f16 as too early access. Dont fly ones ive missed.
  7. As someone who has almost exclusively flown metric jets and learned on metric jets in sim, you get used to imperial pretty fast. The conversions are pretty simple, and it is an international standard. Mach number can be used in a pinch between red fighters its not a huge deal, and been dealing with it for awhile as Tomcat is used as redfor interceptor.
  8. It would be good if you COULD mount the weapons but smoke inhalation was possible rather than an arbitrary limit. This is of course if its technically possible to mount them there rail wise.
  9. I've often thought about just scripting the AI wingman to have infinite fuel in my own missions. In SP it doesn't particularly matter. He usually gets shot down anyway in the campaign, it doesnt really add much to the experience having him have a fuel limit it actually ruins the immersion due to this bug.
  10. This is general DCS bug, friend is getting it if F-18 and im getting it in SU-25T.
  11. It is when you download at 100 - 200 KB/s max with variable speed because your provider is terrible. Im up to 75% now but have had to stop it to try watching this stream. 12 - 13 gig is big for me.
  12. Got to say im afraid but I cannot make it, this update was far heavier than expected. I began dling it on thursday night, and started from 2am this morning trying to finish it and its still only at 70%. Really sorry about this, disappointed that I cannot fly today. Good luck to both teams.
  13. Thank you for the updates Rudel and Co, Our squadron is back to flying again with all the fixes to this and DCS in general. The optimisation on cockpit was incredibly needed and now its running ALOT smoother. More work needs to be done on say ASP behaviour etc but credit where credit is due.

    R-73 missile?

As other posters say, I don't see why r-73s cannot be added considering they seem compatible with the aircraft and theres evidence to suggest so. Its not as much as a leap as the grom, and we have that.
  15. If ED / Module devs can't be bothered to keep their modules up to date, they shouldn't be selling them. People expect module parity to a greater or larger degree. Look at Mig-21 when it languished without updates. Such an approach is terrible for long term viability of the sim and therefore long term profit with a stable product. Thats why I don't think ED will neglect it in long run at all. Look at all the updates FC3 gets.
  16. Pretty sure you can still lock. The Mig-21 BIS is not supposed to be equipped with groms, entire grom implementation is fictional (was another variant that could do this which is what this is approximated off. This makes alot of people mad, but I'm glad we got an upgrade to our LN variant :P). I always simply just put the radar switch into standby, then back into active. It works but probably isnt the best way of doing it (not sure if it stresses the radar as far as the sims concerned). Note the Grom in DCS is actually quite stable, unlike the problems it suffered IRL. You can actually disable the radar / beam to egress quite early without having to stay on target, and the accuracy does not suffer very much. This is great for precision striking bridges. Caveat to the above is its maybe 6 months ago since I actually used the Grom.. should take it out and see if it still conforms to memory.
  17. Can confirm im seeing issues with this as well.
  18. It is pretty buggy, but the majority of bugs are nowadays very minor. No longer are we in the days missiles don't work, or the radar doesn't work, or other some such. The main issues remaining are dodgy countermeasures, and framerate when in cockpit (its very demanding so in VR its alot less smooth than other modules) It is still an excellent aircraft to fly in all roles, it does everything acceptably. With GCI support we've used it successfully as a squadron in some quite challenging environments (although attrition rate in modern scenarios is obviously high). What IS there however is extremely high quality. Despite the above issues its still my favourite aircraft to fly in DCS thats close to full fidelity, and I can forgive some of the inconsistencies as the Mig-21 is my favourite aircraft. I'd recommend just waiting for the next patch and grab it then, it'll be more than worth the wait and i can imagine it being really awesome in 2.5 when the merge occurs. As for the nukes... the nukes are awesome. Even if they arnt really overly modelled or the 'eye candy' isn't good, it makes for interesting tactical missions in COOP. Ill never forget when in MP one of our guys armed his nuke before take off, took off, and it slid off the rail as he pulled too many gs :D Airfield and entire flight disappeared...
  19. Mig-21 isn't finished yet.... All modules should be completed to ED like standard and then given maintenance to be playable throughout all DCS versions. I really don't want ED or devs to give attitude that half finished module and on to the next one is a good business model. I have confidence in Magnitude to fix the missing Mig features and fix longstanding bugs such as disappearing landing gear. As this is our squadrons main used aircraft, im pretty happy to see it's getting more TLC to properly finish the module.
  20. Paid money for it, is our squadrons most flown aircraft. Losing features to bad maintenance of codebase is not good. Looking forward to more fixes from magnitude to iron out issues with the Mig-21LN. Let's keep Mig being high quality and get rid of the problems that have plagued this aircraft for years. (ASP, cockpit lighting etc)
