  1. I've been having an issue with server timeouts in the latest few versions of DCS upon joining multiplayer servers. The servers appear correctly on the server list, but after clicking 'Join' the loading screen appears with no loading bar and after about 2 to 3 minutes it goes back to the server browser with the message 'Connection Timed Out'. This seems to affect any server, including servers being hosted by friends. I have tried disabling my AV and firewall but it seems to have no effect. I have also tried a full clean install of DCS including cleaning up the registry entries, deleting the 'DCS' folder in 'Saved Games' and also running the game without any installed modules on the lowest settings, but the problem still remains. I have attached the log files for my last attempt to join a multiplayer server. Hopefully this can be fixed soon! MultiplayerTimeoutLogs.Ranbi2Delta.rar
  2. Getting a similar issue as the client, except I'm unable to join any server.
  3. Same issue. I'm connected for about 2 to 3 minutes then I get a time out. Logs attached. Edit: Just to add. The message I'm getting is 'server ping timeout'. Can't even join multiplayer any more. LogsRanbiTimeout.rar
  4. I wouldn't bother about it too much. The sounds are still very much a work in progress. Hopefully all the sound issues with the jet would be fixed soon.
  5. That's because you've gone supersonic; you won't hear any sound from the aircraft ahead of the supersonic shock wave.
  6. Hi Grimes, I do apologise if this has been asked before, but is there any chance we can get a 'light admin', function in SLMod? So for example, the light admin is only able to kick to spectators and change/restart mission. Thanks!
  7. +1 Would make for very interesting mission design.
  8. Here are a few of mine: Multi select 3D panning View 3D objects on the map Fix the wind direction display (show where the wind is coming from as opposed to where it's going) Additional wind layers Multiple cloud layers Cloud type selection (cumulus, stratus, cirrus, cumulonimbus, etc.) Additional precipitation types and intensities (light rain, heavy rain, hail, etc.) Precipitation layers Turbulence layers and zones Individual weather stations at airfields Custom weather station placement Weather front placement Activate/deactivate weather stations, with weather interpolation in between Ability to change atmospheric pressure units from mmHg to HPa and inHg. Ability to display wind in knots Ability to display altitude in feet (for wind layers, etc) Fix wind speed (currently it doubles the speed that is put in) You can probably tell what other flight simulators I play from this list. :) I really hope all the suggestions on this thread are considered as it would make mission design much more streamlined and allow for far more dynamic mission design. Edit: DarkFire, perhaps you could include all the suggestions that people list in the OP?
  9. The best solution would be something that could be adjusted like the civilian road traffic option currently present. Mission designers could then set it to their taste.
  10. Not sure if there's a complete list somewhere. The manual, although mission a few entries, is the most comprehensive one that I know of. You can differentiate between an airborne threat on the RWR and one that's ground based by looking for a little 'hat' symbol on top of it (something that looks like this: ^ ). If it's got that symbol it's airborne, if not, it's ground based. Bear in mind, though, that it's different to the large diamond around it (primary threat) and the semi-circle (newest threat). Hope that helps. :)
  11. Exactly. At the end of the day it comes down to how well you understand the aircraft. Also, in answer to your question about the tuning of ILS, it's currently not possible to tune it manually. You'll have to cycle through them like you do for your waypoints. This might change, though, if Belsimtek decide to do a full fidelity F-15C (fingers crossed!). :)
  12. I've noticed that when they teach this, it's usually the older instructors who do. The younger guys tend to teach it the way you have described. It's also worth mentioning that in many modern fly-by-wire aircraft, the computer is going to counter the pitching moment caused by adding engine power. There are also aircraft where the engines are located above the centre of mass, so using the "power for pitch, stick for speed" method is going to get you into trouble, as adding engine power will actually cause the nose to pitch down.
  13. Hi there, We just experienced a server crash. Not sure what caused it. Logs are attached. Thanks! VSAAF MP Logs.rar
  14. It's the same with most airliners as well. Pitot heat is normally left on regardless of the conditions.
  15. Hi Annelid, Please zip up and attach your dcs.log file as well as the .crash and .dmp files that are generated from the crash, so that ED can get more detailed info on it. These can be found under C:/Users/<Your User>/Saved Games/DCS/Logs. Attaching a track file will also help (found in the same DCS directory under /Tracks/Multiplayer) Thanks!
  16. I think that's the point of the icons. You are tempted to buy them the longer they sit there greyed out. :)
  17. Hi there, I experienced a crash today flying an F-15 during Blue Flag. I have attached the logs. Here is a Dropbox link to the track. Thanks! RanbiBlueFlagCrashFeb18.rar
  18. Hi there, Not sure if this is related to yesterday's crashes so I've made a new thread. Had another crash on Blue Flag tonight. Hope the log files help, but again, I was unable to attach the track due to the security token errors. Thanks! RanbiBlueFlagLogs.rar
  19. Hi there, I experienced some crashes earlier tonight when playing on Blue Flag. It got to the point where it would crash after about 5 minutes after the mission was loaded. I have attached logs for each one which hopefully helps you. I was unable to upload the tracks as I was getting a security token error. If needed I can provide you with a Dropbox link. Thanks! 20. Hi there, Just experienced a crash that didn't generate any crash or dump file. I've attached a log file, though and a track file, if it helps. Thanks! Operation Blue Flag ver6.60 TestingMid-20160208-200116.trk dcs.logRanbi2Delta.rar
