  1. Thanks! It does seem to slow down RAM clogging. I just flew 1.5 hours on GS and got only to 28 GB. Great job!!!
  2. For me there is no difference. Both MT and ST max my 32Gb on GS after 15-20 minutes. Textures High, Terrain textures - Low.
  3. A bigger page file can avoid the crashes, but flying in VR with constant stutters is no fun. I think we identified the cause: the object textures that should be purged from RAM on some regular basis.
  4. One of the last updates fixed the crash. I see only two threads (Main and Rendering) at 100% with others much lower. DCS says "CPU bound". So not really sure why the advice is to have HT and E-cores on (mine are off).
  5. Just tried the encyclopedia test. RAM indeed grows with each new model. Plus some liveries take really long time to display (F-14A-135-GR) even on my high-end PC at 1920x1080 and even if the plane has already been loaded in RAM. In fact, I see no difference if it was loading for the first time from my SSD or been cached in RAM. There is definitely something fishy going on and I urge @BIGNEWY and @Flappie to have a look. Edit: just noticed that the liveries change randomly, explains why I see no caching effect. Still, purging can be added on respawns to fix RAM clogging.
  6. I have my page file on a fast NVMe drive, but it is no match to RAM. Once 32 Gb are full, constant swapping makes my game stutter and I must reboot the PC. Comments above suggest that other planes textures are filling up RAM. Maybe they should be purged on each respawn?
  7. I complained about DCS leaking memory in another thread but was told than nobody else is experiencing it, and it is hard to debug. I installed a fresh Windows 10, have no mods and I still observe it (ST, not MT). When I join and start flying F16 on GS server (Causasus map) it initially uses 17 Gb of RAM. But over about an hour it grows to full 32 and my game stutters. I cannot attribute this increase to any certain events. It can go lower as I fly higher, but over time still grows. I don't change server, and crashes/respawns do not seem to contribute to it. I have a very fast 2*16 Gb RAM running at 4000mhz gear 1 and I enjoy stable 90 fps in VR. Adding two more sticks is not an option, and should not be the solution. The devs should look into fixing this memory leak.
  8. I replicated and attached the log. It is indeed the C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION. Enabling HT did not help. I don't want to enable E-cores because I overclock all cores to 54 and it does not post with e-cores enabled (and I don't need them for anything else). I already get stable 90 FPS in VR, not sure if MT can make it any better. dcs.log
  9. Tried to test the new MT version. DCS did not launch, no error messages, just crash and dump files in the logs folder. Attached. Update: both VR and non-VR. I have HT and E-cores disabled... dcs.20230310-154812.zip
  10. ED should find and fix this memory leak. The game should not consume ever increasing amount of RAM, this is insane. Had this crash today after 30 minutes on GS. (((
  11. I had OpenXR setup as per guide on page 1, and all was working well. Then I installed Steam for another game. Now my DCS always launches in SteamVR and I cannot find where to switch it back to OpenXR. Reinstalling OpenXR Tools did nothing. It shows as active, latest preview On, and the Demo scene works. Sorry if this question was answered, too many pages.
  12. Hello. Did anyone notice loss of SimShaker signal for F-16 and FA-18 recently (after OB update)? Engine rumble and afterburner disappeared for me, even if I dial them to 100. Other planes (F14, Mig15, P51) work fine. Any thoughts? I use beta SS and beta sound module.
  13. Surprised that no one else complained about this bug (or I failed to find that). It is impossible to spot low-flying airplanes under the clouds with shadows on. Even when the clouds are white and seemingly transparent, the terrain under them is too dark and lacking contrast. Especially so in VR. I must always remember to turn shadows off before joining multiplayer. Can we have a setting to turn the clouds' shadows on and off separately?
  14. Yes. It stutters really bad for me after 10 minutes in multiplayer. No mods, full repair, delete shaders... I have everything at bare minimum, used to run smoothly in VR.

  16. They just keep telling us to wait patiently (and pay for new unreleased modules). I too would like to see a detailed report with specific milestones. My fear is that lua scripts cannot be multithreaded.
  17. The clipboard is empty, despite the dialogue said "keyword set was placed...". I did not connect VR headset, hence no mike, but it is irrelevant. Edit: I've reset the Keywords and it is working now!
  18. VAICOM cannot place them in the clipboard after Editor-Finish. Admin mode or not. What to do?
  19. Check your VRAM utilization in Task Manager - see if the slowdown coinsides with it getting full. If it is, google for ways to free VRAM (get rid of cliffhouse, SteamVR home and DCS hangar).
  20. I optimized for highest FPS I can get with my 1080ti. On MP servers my cores are loaded 60-70%, GPU 100%. FPS around 60, no reprojection.
  21. Keep hearing this, but on my PC all available cores (4 before on 4670k and 8 now on 12900KF) are loaded equally. I think W11 thread director is shifting the tasks around to load all cores, unless some of them have lower clock.
  22. You will see better performance if you fresh install W11 and clean it up from bloatware. Don't go the upgrade path.
