  1. As what would that missile be named in the encyclopaedia? I cannot find it under any of the names you gave me. The 5V27 (there is a 5V55), the V-601, or the 4K91 missiles are nowhere to be found. Furthermore, The 4K91 missile traces back to the SA-N-1b Goa missile (the naval variant), but this missile has a range between 1 nm and 10 nm. However, the 5V27 missile traces back to the SA-3 b and c (the latter being the 5V27D) variants. But these missiles have a respective range of 1 - 10 nm and 1 - 16 nm.
  2. I was looking through the encyclopedia :book:, and came upon something odd. The S-125 launcher is stated to use "4 SA-3 (V-600 or V-601) missile". However, those missiles (the V-600P, V-601P & V-601PD) do not correspond with the missile it seems to be using. It seems like it is using the SA-N-1a (the naval version of the missile), which should also be able to hit surface targets. Furthermore, if it does use this missile, it looks like it should have a maximum range of 5 nm, instead of the 5.5 nm it actually has. The V-600P has a range between 2.2 and 8.1 nm; the V-601P has a range between 1 and 10 nm; and the V-601PD has a range between 1 - 16 nm. Neither of the four missiles mentioned above are mentioned in the weapon section of the encyclopaedia. Could somebody please clarify what is going on? Am I making a mistake or overlooking something? Or could it be that ED uses the wrong missile? Thanks in advance! :smartass:
  3. I've had the same problem, and I found out that the DCS launcher and the DCS game are actually two different programs, according to the computer. So, while in the launcher you may have the audio on (look in the mixer), you might have it muted for the game. To check, launch the game, then simply alt+tab and open your sound mixer (for windows 8.1 this is found at the right bottom of the screen). I hope this helped, even though it's more than a year ago.
  4. Problem is solved guys. The DCS launcher and the DCS game are two different screens, apparently somehow I may have muted the sounds of the game.
  5. Hello all. I'm new to the forums, but I've been playing DCS World for quite somewhile now, although I only recently really got into it, by buying FC3. Anyway, since I started to play it again, something weird has happened. There's no sound in the game itself. Whenever I'm in the menu, mission editor, or wherever, I do hear the sounds/music. However, when I join a singleplayer game, to actually fly the planes, there's no sound. I've searched my dcs.log file, to see whether it simply fails to load for whatever reason. But, the porblem is: the dcs.log file does report that it has loaded the sounds. Then I tried to restart the game, and something very odd is happening; this time the following is shown in my dcs.log file: "00000.413 INFO SOUND: loaded 944 sdefs from "sounds\sdef"" And a few lines later: "00004.108 INFO SOUND: loaded 0 sdefs from "c:\...\saved games\dcs\sounds\sdef" I'm using the Steam Version of the game, but I've also used the downloadable version of the game from the site itself. Never had any problems with either of those versions, but suddenly the sounds are not working. If anyone could help me, or give me some tips, thank you! P.S.: I've also seen the following lines: "00000.678 UNKNOWN WinMain: plugin: Su-27 Flanker by Eagle Dynamics disabled by Flaming Cliffs by Eagle Dynamics" I'm not sure of this is okay, or may even cause the problems in the audio, but it simply seems a bit odd to me. P.P.S.: The audio doesn't work on any aircraft. I simply have NO sound in the game whatsoever.
