Hi everyone, Since installing an rtx3080 I have continually been getting SteamVR crashes. They are random, but usually within the first 15 minutes. The pop up states it has encountered a critical error, and in the Steam Logs, the only consistent line I can see is : Closing pipe VR_ServerPipe_xxxx with a different 4 digit number everytime. After that I see things such as "tried to render 2 images for one frame", or "server timeout". I am in single player, and this is not dependant on a heavy mission, it happens in free flight as much as anything else. I have no OC on my system, DCS is on it's own SSD. I am running an I7 9700k, 32GB 3200 ram. Does anyone have any idea what the error might mean, and what I might be able to try to mitigate this please? Thanks, Mike

On the weekly news forum the summer sale is supposed to be running until the 19th July. On the main news it is listed as running until midnight on the 13th. It's currently 7pm on the 13th, so clearly not midnight yet in the UK, yet all modules are full price. I am aware leaving it until the last minute is not always the best way to go, but circumstances change. Guess the F16 will now be my Xmas present to myself...

I've noticed it too, playing Beta. I'd say for the last few days I've noticed a 50% improvement on my Rift. Today though I got an HP Reverb pro (going back in a couple of days cos they just announced the G2!) and the extra resolution over a Rift CV1 is unbelievable. Really clear instruments, and can see bogeys from much further, but the biggest difference is the Supercarrier - I can see the ships lighting systems and runway centre line from 2 or 3 times further away which makes landings so much easier. Better FPS as no pixel adjustment needed, and pretty much no SDE either...

Hi all, Finally got it! It was your screenshots that did it Hornblower... For some reason Vaicom was not listening in training mode, even though MSSR was. I went and pressed every button on every part of every app I could find to do with the microphone, uninstalled and reinstalled drivers etc, and now when I enter training mode I get exactly as I was expecting - no PTT buttons needed and confidence ratings. :) No idea which it was, but glad it's working! On the plus side, I have spent so much time talking to the damn thing nearly all my confidence levels are well into the 90s!! (With the exception of the airports which is now todays 'to-do'. Thankyou all for taking so much time out of your lives to help, and sorry for being such a noob! Stay safe, Mike

This is still not giving me the result I expect... When I push my PTT button the log shows PTT disabled during training mode. I still get this pop-up from MSSR every time I speak, and I still never get a confidence level. The only way I can get a confidence level is to take it out of training mode, turn off speech recognition and use PTT as if I was in the sim. This then gives me a confidence level along with 'no AWACS, or JTAC message, but this is not training the speech recognition, it's just trying to interpret the command I give it and inject it into the sim, which isn't running. I'm starting to think this is to do with how MSSR and VaicomPro are interacting - something is clearly not configured correctly, as I cannot replicate what I see in the video tutorials or read in the manual. Thanks for trying, I'm going to uninstall VA, Vaicom etc and start again. If that doesn't work then I will be doing the entire library of commands manually through MSSR. Is it too early for beer yet?!! :D

Hi, I've just been in DCS and had a fly around, and apart from a few airports it seems to recognise most commands so something is clearly working. I think my confusion comes from the VA log not showing the confidence levels... I've re-read the manual and I'm getting the same as you, but unless I'm reading the manual incorrectly, that's not what we should be getting!! (The manual seems to state that in training mode PTT is disabled, the MSSR should be enabled, and that doing this IS training the MSSR....). On the plus side, I do have a few more weeks of lockdown to get my head around it and get the dictionary to properly understand me! Interstingly 'ground' seems to be an issue for me too, along with almost everythig starting with a 'P'! Thanks again so much for the time you've spent looking for me, hopefully when I get my s@*t together I'll see you in MP and say thanks in person as it were.

Hi MAXsenna, I hadn't realised that it's not training the speech engine that way, but regardless, without being able to see the confidence levels in the log I have no idea what is and isn't being recognised. I'd been through the VA page you linked, and have tried all of that. I've tried 4 different microphones etc. My problem is that the software is not behaving on my system as it does in the tutorial videos - every time I speak I get a seperate pop-up window from MS Speech Recognition, but no confidence level in the VA/Vaicom programme, so I have no idea what I need to go and sort out in the speech dictionary. I'll do it the long way round if I have to, but I don't believe this is correct behaviour, so I want to get it sorted before I start actually trying to use it in DCS. Hi Hollywood, Thanks for your reply. Everything is enabled correctly (I believe - orange mic in the app, blue and listening mic in speech recognition etc), every time I speak a word or phrase in training mode I get an alternate phrase pop-up from speech recognition. Sometimes what I've said is listed as an option, and then I can say Option 3 OK for example and move on, but I still never get a confidence level whilst training, and I get a pop up EVERY time I speak. If I come out of training mode in Vaicom and use PTT without DCS running it will recognise quite a few phrases and shows a confidence level, so far anywhere from 45 to 90%. I've no idea what I'm doing wrong, everything else seems to work including Chatter module. One thing I did notice whilst in DCS was the the comms menu keeps appearing and disappearing, so I don't know if this gives a clue that something isn't installed correctly? I'm reluctant to uninstall and re-install in case I have to start back from square 1. Any help greatly appreciated, Thanks, Mike

Hi. Can anyone help please? I may be being stupid here, but when I'm trying to train the speech recognition, I am having to train almost every single word - surely this can't be right? Even when I've typed the word and go back it mostly doesn't recognise what I've done. With over 500 phrases this will take me an entire week? Also, odd stuff, for example reading through the list, I get to 'Copy Kill', for example, and the MS microphone window shows 'copying...', and 'Cleared Hot' shows as 'Hot' - it simply will not accept the word cleared? Am I missing something please? It's certainly doing some bits ok, as it now recognises Binniville for example. When I'm training it, I also don't get any notification of the Confidence Level which I see in the tutorial, despite the correct box being checked? Any ideas? I have trained the speech recognition through the sound panel options over 10 times so I would have thought that would get me somewhere, but in Vaicom I can't even get 'Capital A, H, P, M, N', recognised.
