  1. Concur, I did that mission and the basket is jittering. But at least now I know what makes that clicking noise
  2. Any improvement in AI refueling behavior would be great... Right now in my Liberation campaign they systematically reply "unable" or "negative" whenever I order them to got to tanker, even when the tanker is right in front of us...
  3. So I jumped on the G2 bandwagon (replacing a Rift S). The clarity is... eye-popping. OTOH when using the spyglass zoom I get a rather severe crosseye effect. Tried the debug tools, but neither the symmetry options nor the swapping ones improved it. Granted I'm probably going to use zoom a lot less (not need to zoom to read gauges any more). Now I have to try it in those other sims to compare.
  4. Looking forward to refueling at night, in clouds and turbulence
  5. I do cold starts because I enjoy it that way, same as I always try to AAR in missions and servers - because I like it [emoji56]
  6. I'm looking forward to DCS benchmarks using the new 3080 and the Reverb G2...
  7. Having C:MO level simulation of EW (or naval warfare) would bring tremendous value to DCS. And it’s obviously « possible ».
  8. Black Hawk down vibes [emoji1303]
  9. But DCS isn't just about multiplayer. Or public MP servers. Anyway I wouldn't get my hopes too high for a Rafale module (even though I'd insta-buy it). Just getting the Mirage 2000-5 would be great already (datalink yay!)
  10. Yes! I remember that! Tho people didn't habitually shoot "pilot" chutes, but did shoot or runover (on the ground) the little paratroopers attempting to capture a base.
  11. Neutral faction is an excellent addition. It will force players to respect RoE such as positive ID, bringing more realistic challenges to the game. It will make scenarios richer (bringing them closer to what’s possible in, say, Command Modern Operations).
  12. Didn't know that one (I played the F-18 game on Mac tho). Think it was actually F-16 Combat Pilot on Amstrad CPC6128 :)
  13. You might want to have a look at Combatflite, it allows such stuff and creates beautiful briefings.
  14. Throwback to the nineties... though I don’t exactly remember which game / sim in my souvenirs had the same idea.
  15. In perfect Navy fashion you may even draw a d*ck in the sky [emoji56]
  16. Just hit "Escape" and you have a menu with options such as selecting another slot.
  17. Now that Supercarrier is out, I can't wait for this campaign.
  18. Yeah, that would be cool. No need for anything fancy, juste a quick primer.
  19. Eh, Typhoon's basic design may have suffered (in comparison with Rafale) from the "design by committee" syndrome, which is hardly unavoidable in such a multinational project (see the A-400M for another contemporary example). But it's still a great A2A platform, with advanced systems and good weapons. Even if it's "second best" it still means it's very good. Designing a fighter plane is not a popular sport... nations able to do it can be counted on one hand after all.
  20. As the title says. I read the updated manual, nothing on the TGP. There's a new bunch of symbols on it and no way to know what it does.
  21. Good explanation by Thinder on the canard formulas. In addition, max speed was deliberately set lower than the previous generation. The Mirage 2000C could go to Mach 2 (and let's not even mention the Mirage IV) and I vaguely remember the Rafale A demonstrator did fly at M2 (I might be wrong on that). And a Rafale C/B/M can materially accelerate past M1.8. M1.8 is an operational limitation like the 50K feet operational limit. The airframe itself can fly higher, but other factors are in play (pilot safety in case of depressurization, for eg). For the current generation it was decided that supercruise was more useful than a M2 top seepd that was seldom used IRL. Besides, the Typhoon itself is operationally limited to M1.8 currently IIRC. Saves wear and tear on the airframe.
  22. I would love a Rafale module but it would be a tall order. ED would have to program a PESA/AESA radar, not a small task in itself. And good luck accurately modeling SPECTRA and its advances capabilities. It's a galaxy away from DCS' current, archaic implementation of ECM.
