  1. Anyone know or would be willing to hazard a guess as to why I lose 15-20 FPS simply by swapping the Stennis for the Forrestal? I'm going from around 40-45 down to 20-25. I know the smoke isn't doing me any favors, but there must be something else going on.
  2. TheJay15, antenna elevation is in thousands of feet. Anything >0 is wasted because it's looking into the ground. Your example would be, at that specific range, ground level up to 57000 feet. The maximum range for the onboard radar is 80 miles; further ranges are for use with GCI.
  3. They're external fuel tanks, not quite nape canisters.
  4. You'd think, Aginor, but that would be true with airburst fuzing, not contact fuzing. From A-10s Over Kosovo: " A 500 lb bomb with a contact fuse that hits just one meter outside the target’s revetment is good only for making a lot of noise. " -Lt. Col. Chris "Kimos" Haave. I concur on using guns. If you need to, pack a pod of WP marker rounds to assist in lining up a shot.
  5. Very interesting read. I also enjoyed "A10s over Kosovo" as well, it was very insightful into real tactics and operating conditions the 81st encountered over the KEZ.
  6. Firing the unguided rockets off the A-10 was simply stunning, including breaking off into the egress and seeing the transition into morning from night on the horizon. The best moment in flight simming so far, hands down. 1.5/2 was well worth the wait.
  7. You could just get Dino Cattaneo's F-14. It is a D, but still will grant you some good experience in flight and carrier practice.
  8. I would much rather just have a Mudhen made for DCS, instead of just having AG weapons added to the C.
  9. As you may notice, all previous modules only required a single pilot to operate all systems, while the Apache has a pilot and a gunner. I am curious about how the coming F14 will be implementing a pilot and RIO, though.
