  1. Well, dang. That seems to have fixed it. Thanks so much! can't believe I didn't think to try that.
  2. Yep, I've tried to repair, I've tried reinstalling sound drivers, and even 3 different sets of headphones, all the same issue. I mean, I have the sound files in my game folder, they just don't seem to play when I'm actually in the sim. I don't know if it may just be an issue with my profile or something, but I'll have to try tweaking the game settings some.
  3. So, I've had this issue on 2 different PCs. On my old laptop, I had the issue, but I was building a new PC in a few weeks, so I didn't worry too much. I just reinstalled DCS on this new computer, and the same problem exists, despite a new Windows 8.1/DCS install. I don't have any software installed that would mess with any sound. All my sound sliders are at 25-30%, and the Windows mixer is set to about 75% for DCS, I can hear every other sound fine, but no matter how loud I turn the sim up, I have no engine sound. I've only got the SU-25T and TF-51 for now, but they're both having the issue. I'm using the Steam version of DCS currently, but I also tried installing the version from the actual DCS site, and it had the same issue. DCS is the only sim with this problem, so it shouldn't be an issue with my end, unless it's just a setting that I have wrong somewhere. Also, I don't know if there are supposed to be airframe shaking sounds from stalling etc, but if so, I haven't heard those either, so that may also be an issue. EDIT: Solved, resolved by setting sim sound to max and using Windows to control it instead.
