  1. Su-17M4 is not an early Fitter. It's the latest Fitter in the line. The Su-17 designation was meant for Russian operated aircraft and the Su-20/22 designations were for export versions. The Su-20 was the Su-17M in Russian service. The some of the differing Su-22 versions were almost directly analogous to the Su-17 versions having the same designations... Su-17M4 = Su-22M4. Of course the designations for the Fitter series are difficult to understand say the least.

Su-22M4 is indeed the export version. It would be awesome to get it in the game!

Got some pics I made myself last summer of two Su-22M4 of the Polish Air Force in Belgium. Might as well post it here since you guys were on about it. :D

  2. Only one I'm aware of is the AN-26 (I think it is) what others are there?.

I really mean though a basic 747 and an airbus etc. The big thing though is also the need for a 3rd (neutral) party to augment red and blue.

There is also the Yak-40 :P

    EDIT:

I don't know of any airlines that would willingly send aircraft through a war zone! I'd prefer to save the system resources to generate targets, not buses in the sky.

Just my opinion, but I thought we were here for combat?

I'm not a huge fan of civilian aircraft in DCS for the same reasons. Although i have to say I wouldn't be opposed to player controlled military non combat aircraft, such as the C-130, C-17, IL-76, Tankers, Awacs etc.... Could be interesting when flying with squadrons. But military planes should have priority!

  3. (...) I still think the military version should have higher priority.

    With you there!

I am not that excited about a civilian version of the BO-105, but that's just me. I'm sure there is a market for it, but it will remain a niche. But since DCS is a combat sim, military versions in-game should always have priority over civilian aircraft.

  4. I have noticed the C-101CC version is already in 1.5!!! In mission editor you can select it, give it weapons and have AI fly it. However, if you select player controlled to fly it yourself, the game will crash upon starting the mission! Still nice to see the C-101 with some weapons flying around. Can't be long now :pilotfly:

  5. And flare dispensers!

Euh, correct me if I'm wrong, but last time I checked the Huey still had flare dispensers on the tail section. Or are you refering to Woogey's independent flare dispensers idea?

EDIT: Chaff would be a nice addition. Some UH-1's were equipped with both flares and chaff countermeasures dispensers.

The US Navy had Huey's with the RR 129 A/AL tactical Chaff cartridge.

  6. From changelog:

    F-15C

    (...)

    • Conditions of oscillatory and flat spin are corrected

    (...)

I wish they had corrected the same on the Su-27. It's still too easy to stall (and enter a nearly irrecoverable flatspin of death) in the '27, especially at higher altitudes.

Come on guys (and girls) please stop complimenting this module so much. I have succesfully resisted the urge to buy this for about 2months but my efforts are undermined continously by stellar reviews and excellent experiences by users.

I still have to master the Kamov and the Hip and a few other modules and oh, yes I should also try to maintain a facade of proper human interactions and not lock my self in my ManCave trying to learn this beauty.

There is no point resisting! For sooner or later, you will give in. :D

  8. Am I to understand that the actual license holder of the Gazelle has not yet officially approved the DCS module? It is in a rather late stage of development it seems and that could be a major hold up if they didn't! Just wondering

I hope you're wrong Ramsey! That'd be a major blow to the team if that was the case.

  9. Yeah I've encountered the same thing. After the 1st death the Navigation Enroute mode disappears and thus also its waypoints.

Since most MP missions for CAP tend to have a waypoint towards bullseye, its quite hard to use bulls as a reference point for the rest of the wing/squad without using the map.

And indeed, empty weapon pylons will show as black in the rearming interface.

  10. would the lot of you pay something like an extra 10-15£ for different Early and Late models in the same pack (DCS level)

Personally, no. I would be willing to pay the standard price for the Tornado (€39.99-€59.99) if it's well made, but i would expect for that to buy the full module, whether it includes 1 model or multiple variants. Just like one price buys the L-39C/L-39ZA or the C101-EB/C-101CC.

  11. Thank you both guys.

So I can proceed with the purchase process that I will get a download version right ?

In which part of the process will I get the key ?

When you've purchased the Mig-21 you'll get a confirmation e-mail of your purchase and one with the licence key. Afterwards you:

    • go to http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/
    • login
    • Download the Mig-21 'Beta'
    • go to Profile
    • In the Licence check box paste the licence key that was e-mailed to you (you can also find the key in the 'Orders' section)
    • bind the key to your current login (if it's not already bound automatically)

After that, go and enjoy the awesomeness of the Mighty Mig :joystick:
