  1. Also stuck at 40 fps on a 2080 super and 5ghz 7700k. Got curious and dropped the PD down to .5, impossible to see anything with any clarity, and still stuck at 40fps. Made a bunch of graphics changes, still stuck at 40 fps. I wouldn't mind it, except it's very jittery when I look around and sometimes it doesn't even load for a few seconds so I'll be just looking at a black screen until it renders. Rift S. No idea what is going on or how to fix it. PC Specs-wise, I should be killing the game.
  2. JG52 will be there, just point us at the server and let us rip.
  3. It appears that we are both pretty much saying the same thing. Thanks for responses Matt. P.S. I will eat my boots if you give me a shoutout in the next video ;)
  4. I fully agree with that. One of my biggest complaints with the mission making community in DCS is their tendency to cram every possible thing they can into the mission, whether it be scripts, or units, or whatever. I understand why they do it, but some of those big missions are a massive charlie foxtrot. On the flip side though, I hope you and I would agree that the overall longevity of DCS, as well as the creative health of the MP scene would greatly benefit from the implementation of these fixes sooner, rather than later. With respect, we've been hearing "dedicated servers" tossed around for five or six years, for example. We know the engine struggles with obscene numbers of units; wouldn't it make more sense to ease the stress on the engine a bit, allowing mission designers to create more freely? In the long term, I would hope that's on the board of potential fixes. I appreciate your response Matt :)
  5. I definitely agree with the people talking about servers with massive unit counts and tons of complex scripts firing left, right, and center. However, I don't believe making MP missions less complex is really the answer. Dedicated servers alone would go leaps and bounds to solving the issues of mission complexity. I think the problem here is that MP mission devs have hit the limit on mission making, and it wouldn't be pulling teeth to fix a few things to raise that limit. I also wish ED would fold some of the more popular and helpful scripts into the engine itself (though that's a decision for the developers of those scripts). I think that would go quite a ways to making things a little easier on everyone. Side note on the issue of SSDs: I'm just saying, Samsung on Amazon is selling 500GB M.2 SSDs for $130 USD. If you think your standard SSD is fast, this thing is warpspeed. I picked one up and I promise you from my experience, this thing will make an insane difference. I do not experience a lot of the loading problems for MP that others have since moving DCS to my M.2 drive. I get a 'connection timed out' error every now and then, but it's quite rare, and never more than once.
  6. What's the title of this book? I'd like to get my hands on it. Currently reading "Aces of the Luftwaffe" and the insight into tactics is pretty incredible.
  7. Starts for me. Write out the process you are using.
  8. Honestly there just aren't as many people flying the WWII planes as there are flying the other planes. The 109 can do everything it was designed to do right now. It can fight planes, and it can bomb ground targets. Whether or not it has rockets and gunpods is really just icing on the cake.
  9. The only mention I've found of it was in two books: Messerschmitt Bf 109 F, G, & K. by Jochen Prien & Peter Rodeike and Messerschmitt Bf109K Tomas P I looked around the internet for a little while to see if I could dig up any other 20mm K-4s, but haven't found anything yet. I only looked briefly though. I would suspect, however, that if there were more, they would be documented somewhere, since it would have been a big deal. I think the reason it keeps coming up is either 1. because of War Thunder and the upgrade system they have that people assume is realistic or 2. they see mention of Yellow 4 and that loadout that existed one time, very briefly is justification to say that it was common and/or a doable loadout. Both of which are not true.
  10. +1 In my experience, anything anyone submits as evidence for a change or even just a review is "not evidence" or "not valid" for whatever bizarre and extraneous reason here.
  11. Yellow 4, right? From 11./JG 11? That's the only K-4 I can find with a 151/20 in the nose instead of the MK 108.
  12. Not a bug, that's how the ammo counters worked. They were manually set in the 1940s, they are manually set now. I believe the language in the manual was poorly written.
  13. Does it affect your flight controls? If not, I wouldn't worry about it. I'd just chalk it up to ED's weird ass game behavior.
  14. 38T goes into the slot above LN13723835, literally the button above it. Just type 38T hit the button (LSK 3 IIRC), and then type in LN13723835 and hit LSK 4 IIRC. The CDU is probably the most powerful tool the A-10 has. You can even build an entire flight plan with it from scratch in the cockpit. It's really cool.
  15. I'm 90% sure this is the case. I don't believe ED has a working leak system in game yet. At least not one that I'm aware of.
  16. The latest update for DCS broke TrackIR functionality a bit from my understanding. Try this fix http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2822647&postcount=94 and/or turn off VR in the options menu.
  17. I'll bookmark this thread, but if you could send me a PM with the new details once you know, I would love that. I saw on hoggit you were looking for Luftwaffe pilots; veteran Luftwaffe 109 pretend pilot here. I pretend fought in the Battle of Britain, I pretend fought on the eastern front, I pretend fought in the Caucasus region, and I pretend fought on pretty much every map in 1946. Happy to lead, train, and follow! I'm very interested in how this mission turns out. You've thought some really fresh parameters that give a cool perspective on air combat.
  18. Hey guys, I have a mod to change the Hog's squelch tone into radio chatter. The recording I have is a little over an hour long of different USAF radio chatter in different aircraft. It works great, for the most part. The problem is that it loops itself after about a minute or so. Is there some way I can adjust that timer so that it plays the entire recording, instead of the first 50-60 seconds and starting over?
  19. Well there you go. Bombcat got a shiny new RWR and a new couple of monster engines.
  20. As far as I understand the Alpha Cat and Bravo Cat differences were really just the engines. The last Tomcat pilot I spoke with made a big deal about it though. He loved flying the Bombcat with the F110 engines, because it meant more time flying and less time trying to not piss off the TF-30 engines.
  21. On the one hand, I agree that the Saratoga's comms weren't exactly clear. On the other hand, if you are in range to fire a sidwinder, you are in range to see what you are shooting. Dorsey, as a professional fighter pilot knowingly engaged in a training exercise, should have had the decision making capabilities to not fire on the Phantom.
  22. Good lord the nostalgia. It was quite the sim experience. But now, I'll never trade my INS in for it.
  23. Just my own mod to add tracers to the motorkanone.
  24. Jesus christ how big is this file? A 3-4 second video in .avi format shouldn't be over 100mb. EDIT: Oh, 4k, that explains it. EDIT TO THE EDIT: When I open it up, it looks like a slide show. Drop your resolution down to 1920x1080 and see what happens.
  25. 1. Yes 2. The 109 was extremely light, and was never really designed to carry anything. It can carry small loads, but not very well, and at the cost of a lot of range. 3. This is realistic behavior. The pump gauge doesn't move until the engine starts. It used to do that in game, but it's been changed to reflect the real world 109.
