  1. Whatever the default livery for these training missions is has a bug where the livery changes as you zoom closer to the aircraft in external views... https://imgur.com/UoDKv0e https://imgur.com/y4iSooq
  2. Thanks for that info Yurgon, I always wondered how to set up the aircraft pre mission. Is this also where we can define channel presets for the radios etc?
  3. Where did you hear about this? I thought the graphics update was all they were going to do with the A-10C. What are you guys hoping will be added?
  4. so if I managed to find an old backup of a 2017 installer could I use my current legit student license to activate it even tho its an old version?
  5. I have only recently set up head-tracking so I was using similar mouse settings to you Jonni for years. Although I recommend head-tracking for flight if I am just testing things from the mission editor or just doing ground systems training I don't always set up my headtracker. Also sometimes it is on charge as its wireless and it also requires I wear my headset which is not always desirable. So good mouse settings make a good fall back. What I did was use external mouse software X-Mouse from http://www.highrez.co.uk in my case. Ideally you need a gaming mouse for the extra buttons. I set it up so that on pressing Mouse 4 it sends Alt+C to DCS and then again when releasing. I used mouse 5 (which is next to 4 on the thumb and easy to press both) to transpose. Also you can use DCS Axis settings on the mouse (I only found this out recently) to smooth out your camera movements without slowing down the clickable mouse movement. Adjust the Y saturation and curvature to get nicer movement there for both internal and external.
  6. I have been looking at how to do this today by editing the files in Notepad++ before I found this thread. I was toying with the idea of creating an external program to do this. Glad to see you have not only done this already but integrated it into DCS ME. Nice work! : ) On a side note my tinkering with notepad++ was a success, I managed to convert all the Russian units that the generator created into Iranian which made more sense in the Persian Gulf.
  7. @ErCoupe Thanks for the reminder! I saw this back in May but forgot about it. Glad to see its now flyable. : )
  8. Thank you @Darcwaynard, this was also bothering me. Such a simple fix to disable them in Module Manager. Silly me. : ) I wanted to keep them installed for purchase later, I hope this doesn't remove the files. Can anyone confirm?
  9. Hi folks, Is Max 2016 still the best way to go for DCS? Also is 2017 still the latest version that works? I have a student license for 2018 and 2020 and its too late for me to pick up a legit 2016/2017 version
  10. Thanks Megalax, setting them all to false got me a step closer. But there was a missing texture where the number should have been. After a bit of trial and error I ended up with: livery = { {"CH-47_01", 0, "ch-47_green rsaf", false}, {"CH-47 Numbers_W", 1, "ch-47 numbers_w", true}, {"CH-47_Numbers_B UK", 1, "ch-47 numbers_b uk", true}, } name = "CH-47_Green RSAF" countries = { "UK", } Which worked, so now I can start work on the skin (and hopefully others) without worrying about not getting it in game after.
  11. All of them? I will try that but what do they mean then and why are they 'true' for the other CH-47 skins?
  12. Model Viewer doesn't pick it up at all but in game I can select the livery however it shows the blocky green 'missing texture' all over the model. description.lua and textures installed at: C:\Users\****\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\ch-47d\ch-47_green rsaf I used the latest .dds exporter from Nvidia for Photoshop 2020 and saved out as bca1 if that makes any difference. Also I noticed a lot of inconsistency with capitalisation in the official ED files so I am assuming it is not case sensitive. Is that right? : ) Thanks for any support.
  13. Thanks Rudel, tbh I was not confident at all about where to post this. I did have a look around but ended up here.
  14. Can anyone see an obvious mistake here? Model Viewer doesn't pick it up at all but in game I can select the livery however it shows the blocky green 'missing texture' all over the model. description.lua and textures installed at: C:\Users\****\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\ch-47d\ch-47_green rsaf I used the latest .dds exporter from Nvidia for Photoshop 2020 and saved out as bca1 if that makes any difference.
