  1. backspace..... I appreciate the info on distance headsets are focused at... I had no info on this at all. If I can use a VR headset.. I will update my distance script and look into the insert lenses I mentioned above CyStryker
  2. Lucky... u mioght be able to secure an RMA NUMBER AND RETURN IN BOX... rOLAND
  3. Gents: Might find of interest.. for eye glass wearers.. like me. Blunty provided a video of a review of the VR Optrisan and the VR-Lens Lab.com individual lens and frame inserts. U provide the prescription. AND the vr headset identification. They can only design the lense/frame inserts when they have access to the specs on the headsets... hopefully this all ready available for the Cosmos, Reverb and the Index. I believe the placement of these lense inserts into the headset should allow a closer eye to the VR lenses.. and therefore a wider fov. I hope this info is helpful. CyStryker
  4. Cosmos resolution GENTS: I have the site where I picked up the possible/probable resolution for the Cosmos... It is MRTV. ... went online four days ago? THE number is based upon HTC announcement that the headset will have the best lenses than any other vr headset they previously released. Their previous one was the HTC Vive Pro at 1600 x 1440. ... nxt step up is the 2160 x 2160? If u wear glasses like I do... you may want to check out Bluntys review of the vr optricsan in headset glasses ( European) and the VR-Lens Lab.com... same insert into the head set. These lenses are specifically designed with your prescription to be inserted to the VR lenses ... this could have a major impact on fov. I need to find out if you need to provide a script for "reading" , close up or for distance.... also... the frames are designed for a specific vr headset... so until the company receives the Cosmos or the Index they would be unable to accurately design a frame for each lense that could be inserted into the vr headset... 5. DCS multi cores JimmyWa: I have an Intel I7-4770K. I am going to delid and relid nxt week (use metal thermal solution) . and Over clock to 4.2. the CPU is a 1150 socket.............. Will it allow me to set DCS to use all four cores? What patch are u referring to as supporting multi core? I just ordered the LG 34GK950G-B. I need a faster and bigger monitor than my 10 yr old Dell 30" 2560 x 1600 60Hz:>) I use sli GTX 970 s which should run the LG fine???? If not... I am reluctantly going for a RDX 2080 ti. I have a 67 IPD. ... (54 to 72) too close to the outer limits of pd to get a wide fow.??? The problem with vertigo ( I have) I think might create a real problem for VR use. I am going to wait for the test reviews of the Index and the Cosmos... hopefully soon. In the meantime i am going to use TrackerIR with Trackhat side mount sensors. Thank you for all your input in these forums. CyStrykewr
  6. Cosmos The info was an educated guess in several videos online by reviewers based upon claims or announcements by developer. It is not for certain.... Hopefully we will find out soon... CyStryker
  7. TrackerrIF and Trackhat for now I am watching the same videos from flight sites and vr sites.... hopefully this week all info. I am waiting for my Trackhat for use with my TrackerIR. I watched at least 5 videos 4 of which were in a DCS sim (P51, F18, etc., using this tracking sys... the graphics were clear, you could read them easily and no motion blur..... I saw similar results in a Oculus Rift S... using an Iphone ... within the headset.. nice... The Cosmos should be 2160 x 2160 with RGB subpixel strip. FOV out to maybe 120 degrees? the hz probably 90Hz? The Oculus Rift S is lower than the upcoming Index... which will have a 130 fov (out to subject to IPD, and a hz of up to 120 to 144! My IPD is 67... very close to the upper limits of average range of for adults.... my concerns are: Closer u get to the upper the lower the FOV. I have balance issues hopefully fixed.... and I do not want to suffer vertigo attacks! U can not get up from bed with vertigo... u just fall again on the bed:<) So tracker for me for a while. I need a new large gaming monitor... i am ordering the LG 34GK950G-B. 100-120 Hz nano ISP paner.. around $800.00 at amazon.. best I have seen on the price... CyStryker
  8. DCS CPU core use Gents: Does DCS use more than one core... I have 4 core I-7 4770K. Multi core use would be a major factor in performance within DCS????? CyStryker
  9. VR capable Gents: I just confirmed my pd is 67mm. That is within the 54 - 72. However, it is on the wide side:<( I am going forward with updating my TrackerIR setup ... I want to c what the COsmos, the Index and oe other will offer. I currently operate the following: 4770 K not oc. I am waiting for my deliding/reliding kit.. I want to oc to 4.2. I will use liquid metal between the chip ad the IHS. I have only 15 gigs of mem I have a Dell 30" 50Hz 2560 x 1600 monitor which I am swapping with a work station for the Asus 24" 144Hz, 1 ms .. downside is it is only 1080 reso. SLI GTX 970 (2). TM HOTAS Cougar upgraded Should receive my new TrackerIR 5, the new Tracker side mounted IR tracker, I found my other one:<),,, And I ordered the new TrackerHat tracker... it looks great and has great reviews. My flight chair needs to be rebuilt. It looks like a baby chair with side mounts for the Hotas, adding a mouse mount on left, I am widening the arms out to give me more comfortable leg room....
  10. DCS support for Ray Tracing -- RTX support Gents and Ladies: Does DCS support currently Ray Tracing and to what extent? Also.. If u do not currently support RaY tRACING.... r u GOING TO SUPPORT IT? Nvidia seems determined to get developers to support RT. I understand there are only 11 games that support RT! just part of my analysis.. "marginal utility" to justify the increased price. CyStryker
  11. trackers I just ordered this product... every review gave it the thumbs up. I had just ordered a new TrackIR 5 with a new Tracker IR pro. After I ordered I found my trackerIR Pro head set mounting sensors:<# I ordered the same tracker for use with my TrackerIR 5............... Now I have three @#!$#@ I am keeping all of them:<) I am waiting for the latest and soon to be released VRs to be thoroughly reviewed b4 I make a decision to switch to VR from TrackerIR. In the meantime I am going to switch from my Dell 30" 2560 x 1600 at a slow 60 Hz.. to my 24" 144 Hs monitor (only a 1024 reso) CyStryker
  12. Monster Tech HOTAS desk mounting hardware Gents: I have a complete set of the excellent Monster Tech desk mounting sys for the HOTAS. I can not use as I can no longer sit straight up because of lower back problems.. I have or soon will have rebuilt my flight chair which allows me to lien back (both the seat and back) much easier on my back. If anyone interested let me know.... only delivered in the USA lower 48:<) CyStryker.
  13. in Box TM HOTAS (F16) Gents: For those who are interested ... I have a relatively new complete HOTAS in the box.. Ihave another one I am using.. or will soon. I want to sell only in the USA. Any interest let me know. CyStryker

I can not locate my new ear pads for my Tiamat Raser... just ordered another pair. CyStryker
  15. Sir: I noticed in your specs u have hands on stick, throttle.. how does VR allow use or do you just keeps hands on to use? CyStryker
  16. TrackerIR 5 temp while waiting I have been reviewing every video and article on the newest VRs. I am not going to rush,... even i could. ( the reverb u can not get until after September. The Index probably Septemeber as well. The new HTC Vive Cosmos... end of year? So... I upgraded to the TrackerIR 5. I might pick up the LG 34" 144Hz 3440 x 1440 monitor. I am using a slow 60 Hz 30 Dell for over 2 yrs. I reinstalled and repaired runtime.. so I am able to start up DCS. I tried selecting "all" cpu processors... see if it works. I still need to rebuild my flight chair... I am going in for surgery on the 24th.... that wil take me out for a least a week. Incidently.. the chair will have again ... two arm panels one for each armrest. I still have the original tray (baby chair style) that inserts into the arm panels and can easily be removed. On each of the arm rails .... are platforms to mount the Throttle and stick. I have them already made from the last build.... I am also going to install a platform on the left am for a mouse.... for selecting in game switches... etc.. I can not sit in a regular chair or one that t=only the back goes back awhile the seat remains level.... too much on my back.... too many injuries...:<) I hope to finish my house repairs soon and start on the chair within a month. It allows me to lean back ... as both the seat and back go back together. taking the pressure off the low back.... CyStryker
  17. Gents: i would love to join a unit.... gping to need a lot of help at first.... I am attempting to download and install 2.5. I keep getting the following warnings.... msvcp140.dll vcruntime140.dll msvep140.dll. I ran the command prompt to access the Bin files... and ran DCS_updater.exe repai. It ran properly but no joy in Mudville. I still receive the same wornings... If I can find thee three files where do I install them ,... what director,y etc. I have not flown flight sims in over 3 years.... used to fly WWII sims and Falcon 4. I have TM HOTAS, Rudder pedals and TrackerIR ... not recall what version. I am looking into a VR headset sys..... I am waiting for the Valve Index reviews in flight sims........ I have seen numerous video of gents flying the F18 and the A10C with vr.... looks great. I have to repair my flight chair.... it is an office high back chair which leans back. I have a system which I need to reinsta.. which makes it look like a baby chair... I have supports for the HOTAS throttle.. left, and the stick... right. I can slide a baby like table in the front... and lean back and play comfortably. CyStryker
  18. A review of the top 5 flight sims ... #3 is DCS F18:<) also.. I have been watching a series of videos of in flight flying with VR of the DCS F18... incredible. The video were about 1 month old.... I am looking forward to reviews of the Valve Index... in DCS... SimHanger had test results of the RDX 2080 Ti and the GTX 1080 Ti ... in a flight sim.... not much difference in performance..... Does DCS use Ray Tracing to warrant buying a GF RTX 2080 Ti?? So far there are only 11 games that support Ray tracing... no flight sims... FPS are BF5 and a yet to be released. CyStryker
  19. Deadhorse: thank you for response. I could set up my flight chair I am rebuilding ... to include a platform for the mouse on the left side behind the Throttle. I still need to have access to the MDDs and the other clickable items.... CyStryker
  20. VR HP Reverb Gents and Ladies: I hope to finally start playing DCS flight sims. I am considering buying a VR headset. From what I have read I am interested in the HP Reverb and possibly the Value Index. There is very little out there on flight sim usage of the Index. There is a growing number of reviews of the Reverb on flight sims.. The Reverb, a WMR device, will support SteamVR with a down loadable Windows ap. It also supports the "knuckles". I have reviewed Simhanger's videos on the Reverb. Especially the video hands on in DCS free download. The graphics are crisp! U can read the gauges in the cockpit easily... they are crisp. He also ran tests in X-Plane, Hobofly F32 several others. All demonstrated clear, smooth readable gauges and controls graphics. He also ran a comparison on his system of the RTX 2080 and the GTX 1080. there was only a marginal gain of 5 to 7% gain over the 1080 by the 2080> I have two GR GTX 970 in Sli I am going to replace with probably the RTX 2080 Ti. He also tested one sim that incorporated "hands on" controls with your mapped hand movements! He also tested an ap that is called " LeapMotion" that allows you to run your sim with your hands as well. ... u could c him grasp the joystick in flight. I have a Thrustmaster HOTAS ... actually two of them Anyone interested in buying my extra one?. CyStryker Questions: Can u use your hands in DCS sims to grasp the flight controller in game? In a fighter sim... if the game supports hands on control.....can u operate the buttons on the stick? I would imagine with the Knuckles u could. Has anyone seen a review of the Index in a flight sim? I am currently spending a lot of time on repairs and upkeep on my home when I am not recovering from a hospital stay or surgery :<) Everything take me a lot longer:<(
  21. Have you seen any reviews of the Index or video on of the Index flying in DCS? Roland/ CyStryker
  22. Gents: I have not been around for almost 2 yrs... too many times in hospital. I am considering purchasing the Value Index vr Headset... to play DCS. Are there any handson reivews of a DCS sim mod with this hdset" Everything I read about the Value confirms fuirther my belief it is the best VR availalbe. Roland
  23. Sir: I have some play as well as the forward movement of the U2Nxt is short... any ideas how to resolve? I have Ian's instructional printout ... I believe I need to adjust the gimbals by lossening the screws (on the X and Y axis) with the allen wrench....then adjust the play and throw of the stick???? Any help would be appreciated. Also... I remember one member here was building Ian's design by 3d printing? Any idea? Roland
  24. Gents: I am selling one of my TM Cougar sets. I am selling the one with the UBER2NXT. I never used it:<) When tested the movement of the stick ....I notice the forward movement on the stick is reduced. Anyone know how to adjust the U2 to allow the stick to move its full movement forward? Roland
  25. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement switch for the UHF/VHF on the TM Throttle? Thanks in advance.. Roland
