  1. Thats just it... Its sexy as hell! For me, I dont care about the reduced performance. I enjoy using what strengths an aircraft has to its maximum advantage. I am sure most feel the same way. After all, f it was just about performance we would all be flying the Hornet. Back to the OP, I would glad pay an "upgrade fee" up to the original models price. The MiG-21 has been my fav module since its release. Its just got so much character! Easy to fly, hard to fly well & a joy in every phase of flight. FWIW I would by an F-13 module in a hearbteat as well
  2. The point is the OP thought it was linked to the Ka50, my point was its non aircraft specific. Whether or not something is discussed elsewhere does not preclude it being discussed again in different context elsewhere.
  3. Paraphrasing, you say the helicopter is rendered unflyable but you dont think its unflyable enough. That about sum it up? A blade strike is a dynamic incident. Involved at the moment of contact are the rotor speed, rotor composition (rigidity) & the object being struck relative density & thickness. The results span the spectrum from dents in the leading edge of the rotor (vegetation being struck) to the catastrophic failure of the rotor hub & transmission. To say that if A happens B should be the result is short sighted & frankly wrong. Moreover to try to model that into our sim IMO borders on pedantic. For me, I am entirely satisfied that if I get to close to something that big fan stops blowing. Asking more from the devs is IMO a waste of valuable time. FWIW I would like to see the blades a tich more robust. Flying the gazelle I am frequently in the trees hovering very low. If my blade catches the tip of the tree its game over. Im sure the sim cant distinguish between the tip of the tree & its base so likely there is no help coming on that front. However, hearing a "thwap" as punishment & maybe a bit of vibration would be ideal.
  4. I dont really think this bug is linked to any specific aircraft or whether a part comes off an airframe or not. It all has to do with whether DCS considers that an aircraft was destroyed after taking a hit. I have seen this sort of thing happen many times in various aircraft both single player or multi player. From my perspective flying, all is well. Sure the aircraft is damaged but its controllable & I go on to finish the mission / RTB. Its only when reviewing the TacView that I realize that DCS considered my aircraft destroyed. In the TacView my aircraft shows getting hit & the boxes (pieces) fall to the ground when in reality I continued to fly along. IMO, ED needs to change it so that an aircraft is not officially destroyed until its "mortally" hit + Its altitude AGL & airspeed are zero.
  5. Perfect! Exactly what I need (though I dont know how I missed it, my google-fu must really suck! LOL).
  6. Hey guys, I have searched for this questions thinking it has to have been asked before so either I am the 1st one to think of this or my google-fu is weak. I want to give the impressions of a busy FARP regardless of how many people are flying in a MP mission. What I want to do is put static Heli's on each of the spots (using indivisible FARP) as well as the player controllable ones in the exact same spot. If a player spawns into a spot I want the static model to be switched with the player controllable one. The idea being, if a cpl guys dont show for the night, their respective birds will show as static models sitting at their assigned spots. I had the idea while at work & after thinking it through can not think of a way to do it but thought I would put the question to the far more experienced designers here. Many thanks for any & all info.
  7. I bought voice attack & Vaicom Pro some time ago & had trouble getting it to work so gave up on it. Well Im back at it again but with determination & still having problems. After reading the whole manual, confirming my settings & googling till my eyes bleed I am hoping someone might have a guess what the issue is. I'm guessing its not recognizing DCS? As you can see from the image below it doesnt show what aircraft I am in & also says there is no one on the channel. If I use the F menu it works fine to connect to the tanker. Anyone have any insights or suggestions? Thanks in advance!
  8. Mig 21 is probably the hardest for me to consistently grease a landing on followed closely by the Gazelle. I can land it fine, precisely is another thing entirely.
  9. Good stuff thanks! Of course you have just ratcheted up the anticipation a few notches too!
  10. That did the trick, thank you sir! I guess I didnt grasp the difference between modifier & a switch.
  11. Sorry to necro guys but this post is the closest I can find that matches the subject I am searching. I have a problem hopefully someone will have some experience with & can offer a solution. When I use S4 as a modifier instead of the shift state only working while its pressed it stays in a shifted state until I press it again. Anyone else run into this problem & if so have a solution so S4 only works as a modifier when its pressed & held? Much obliged for any suggestions!
  12. Thank you for the replies. I have prop pitch on auto & I'm climbing out at 275-300kph. If there was a problem with the engine you would think one of the gauges would show a problem but they don't. All gauges show normal temp or pressure.
  13. Greetings folks, I have had the Kurfurst for some time but only recently started flying it seriously & I have run into an issue when I cold start the aircraft. On climb out the engine seizes about 45sec into the flight. I assume I am missing something in the start procedure but have read the manual a dozen times & watched several tut vids & I am certain I'm doing everything right yet when I climb out I am doing 1.2 Ata & looking at the gauges everything is normal when I hear a bang & the engine seizes. Anyone have a idea what I am missing? Many thanks for any assistance.
