  1. I love the fun of FC3 birds but I was wondering if there were any plans to make the F-15 have the advanced system modeling and clickable pits like all the newer modules. I heard belsimtek was working on "something". From my understanding, the F-15 already has the provisions for clickable stuff in the cockpit so it doesn't seem too hard. Is there any chance that this will ever happen?
  2. Those kind of documentaries tend to add fun sound effects. Betty doesn't announce the obvious in the eagle, unlike the viper.
  3. A few guys on this thread came from BMS. F-16 is nice and retains energy super well because of the AOA limiter. The F-15 has no such limiter so you can bring the AOA really high when you need to. Personally, I think its an advantage. I was like you when I first started out. The Eagle bleeds energy fast only because you are pulling back all the way. If you only pull it half way back, you'll retain energy well. My advice to you is to merge above 400 KTS. Also don't be too set on retaining energy. When you need to snap that nose around, don't be afraid to bleed off your energy. It's all about timing. Get on his six, get the shot, and kill him asap. Another important thing to note is that the eagle rolls super fast. I've had Mirages jump me and turned the fight around for guns kills because I know how to turn and burn when I need to. Rolling will throw the guy's aim off. Just about every other 4th gen fighter in DCS will out turn the eagle sustained or instantaneous. Take the SU-27 for example. The only way you are going to beat a flanker in a dogfight is to be a better pilot than him. The Flanker will out turn the eagle at any speed right up to mach .8 or something. Just know when to time a really quick turn, and you can win the fight. Otherwise my only advice to you is kill the target way before the merge. The Eagle is the best BVR platform in DCS.

  5. I flew the P-51D for a while and the F-86F. Lovely sims but I wanted a legit multiplayer experience and the ACG and DOW servers are never really active. I then started flying the F-15C again and oh man... This thing rocks! Immediately took it to multiplayer and I do pretty well for a rookie. Been flying her for a week now in MP and today I got 7 kills to 2 deaths on the 104th. Guess there is something behind the perfect kill record of the Eagle huh....
  6. I was under the impression that you were supposed to use the auto pilot stuff in the Eagle. Please someone correct me if im wrong but engage attitude and altitude hold then approach the tanker. I personally think its like riding a bike. Not too hard
  7. Don't put your nose down above 100 KIAS. Simple as that bruh
  8. lights on, get to a good altitude where you will just be able to throttle you way to the tanker. Once you get the proper altitude, engage the auto pilot. First engage attitude hold then altitude hold and now you don't have to worry about pitch. Just get to the boom, open the hatch, and try to connect. *remember that when you increase throttle the plane might rise a little bit. The autopilot is slow to correct throttle changes so you must apply forward pressure (VERY SLIGHT) every time you get too close to the tanker.
  9. Rule of thumb, keep propeller pitch lever slightly above the Throttle and you will seldom experience these random engine failures. During dogfights you can go max power for a long time (pay attention to oil/ coolant temp) and once you get the kill, put the plane in cruise until all the temps go normal. Don't worry about the radiator controls. keep it on auto. If your engine overheats in a dogfight, you are taking too long.
  10. I found that I can land the P-51D much much better than the TF-51. The TF-51 lands like 10 MPH slower
  11. If you look in the F-15 non nuclear weapons delivery manual, they do say the funnel is an optional backup for the GDS
  12. Oh nooo!!! This is my favorite DCS bird and it has an error :( My question is, why would they replace a fuel tank with crappy 1940s IFF. I would have preferred a D-10 or 15 with more traditional N-9 sights.
