  1. You can take off fully fueled with external without problem in DCS. Just make a normal flap take off. You do not need more than 20°. It would probably also go without any flaps, but as soon as the fuselage tank is full i put in a bit of flaps to leave ground sooner if you meant in RL I have no Idea
  2. i had the same problem until i changed from stable to Openbeta, and bum all the hornet missions are there :)
  3. there is pylon drag on almost all modules
  4. yeah its a bummer, also because half a year ago they worked perfectly
  5. I dont know the definitive answer to this, but i think i know how to get this information. bring up your FCS page on the ddi. there you have 5 Rows LEF/TEF/AIL/RUD/STAB the numbers on the side are the trim numbers. you should be able to monitor these numbers and get your answer.
  6. i would pay money to get this mission updated. This is one of my favorite. I'm about to lose my mind You've been gone for so long I'm running out of time I need a doctor
  7. so you firing a 120c at 30nm pitbull into the sky and wondering that you kill friendlies?
  8. yes I was not sure its the throttle because it doesn't happen instantly when lowering the throttle it could very well be the bank I use for my landing pattern. i keep RPM at 2700 so i dont think its that.
  9. delete this thread, it has nothing to do with constructive criticism
  10. its not just negative G, while landing i have it quite often that I forget the booster, and when i prepare for landing the engines quits on me. so I guess with low throttle setting you also need the booster. yeah, the detail is amazing, I was watching alot of P-51 youtube videos lately and there is not much what they do differently than us. I really have problem flying other modules now, flying a jet is awesome, but flying and mastering the Mustang is legendary
  11. by far the easiest plane for me is the f15 because you purely fly on lights and you look naturally on the plane, not the chute or the boom. also for teaching its way easier than anything else. I don't have to remind the student all the time to look at the fuselage because you already do. I expect the f16 to be as easy as the 15.
  12. So Yesterday i tried this and i was able to fly very long time on wing tanks without Fuel pump. im not completely sure what i did but i think when i moved the throttle to idle (was going into dive) the pressure dropt and i needed the pump again. but in cruise the pressure was stable without. i then tried it on higher altitude (35k ft) and no luck even with pump, the pressure was low
  13. i only deleted the P-51d-30-na folder. but there is another one, only called p-51d after deleting this and make new bindings it was correct. my fault, I'm sorry for wasting your time :joystick:
  14. Tag Team Rocket delivery Just a Sortie i did with my friend. start, fly to target, delivery, landing all in formation. most of the video is speed up 300% 10:00 mins with some sound, my mic didn't get recorded everything is from my point of view.
  15. hi, i don't know what to say, I hit repair and everything to make sure it really reversed and in my installation it is. I never did something to a lua. the keybinds work as it should (lctrl+C). But when i bind Canopy close to a Hotas button it opens the canopy. strange.
  16. hi, the binding "Canopy close" opens the canopy and "Canopy open" closes it.
  17. im sure. also with manual full open cooling you can fly 300knot 500feet 2900rpm 55hg forever try this in automode, engines explode after 1min max XD
  18. oil is not much of problem but when i fly 500feet 250knots 2700RPM 46Hg auto mode water temp goes until the end of the gauge. on NTTR and Gulf at least. on Caucasus its a bit less, but still beyond the redline. when open manually no problem.
  19. depends on how long im at the ground before take off. if water temp is already near the green zone i open it for takeoff, but when i spawn near the rwy and oiltemp is ready i start without open water radiator. while takeoff it climbs and bevor it leaves the greenzone i open it. i figured out if i leave them almost completely open i dont have to manage temps at all. only when im fast or climb into cool air i need to close them a little bit so they dont drop to much. for me Autocooling only works in high altitude or power setting 2400rpm 35Hg on very low altitude everything above temps go crazy in auto mode. all the problems i had in the beginning with broken engine and so on was because auto mode didn't do the job. Since i manage them myself i didnt had a broken engine in 20h of flight. no matter what power setting i use. And yes i know this is not by the book, or will slow me down, but in the end this is what works for me and my buddys
  20. as soon as i in the air i fully open both radiators. Auto may work, but idlike to keep my temp in the green. only time i have to close them a little bit when im faster than 300, or high up. otherwise i let them 100% open.
  21. thx for your replys, i think im all on its way now to fall in love with this airplane. after all the jets I flown this is probably my jumpstart into the ww2 World. And i love it
  22. I have two last question regarding engine: when do i use ram air or filtered air? as of now, I use filtered on the ground and takeoff and after takeoff i go ram air and don't touch it again. I read in the forum the lever has not a function ingame because its always ram air. (posts from 2013) when do i use carb heat? i understood its used as de-ice but only when run on ramair, and not over 12kfeet because the mixture gets to lean. my carb temp is always in the green except when im high it goes down to -20C but the engine doesn't care as far as I can tell. otherwise, I think im pretty good now in not breaking the plane.
  23. yeah thats what i understood from the manual, but i know now that this was wrong. when landing i do 2700 RPM and throttle goes to idle and i still have 2700RPM :)
  24. yeah, I think I got it now, flew the whole weekend without a broken engine. the definitiv trick was to bind oil and water radiator to my hotas. i can now fly forever on 2700RPM 46Hg i also managed to go to 30k feet multiple times without any issues. what i use now: 2700 / 46 take-off (i know its 3000 / 60 but even with bombs i don't need that much power) 2400 / 35 Auto Cooling / Cruise / climb max 500-800ft/min 2700 / 46 Manual Cooling / max Cruise / climb up to 2000ft/min 2700 Landing thx all!
