    VR FPS

Yea the Mudhen and the Apache are very FPS heavy in VR for some reason. Try dropping your textures to medium, made a huge difference for me in these modules.

    VR FPS

That's why I tested with the F-14, both A and B are significantly better in terms of FPS for me compared to the F-15E with textures set to high, its literally a 40+fps difference. Mirrors oddly enough don't effect it that much for me, maybe 2 or 3 fps. I usually leave them off anyways because IMO they're not that useful.

So I knocked the textures to medium as BazzaLB suggested and wow, night and day difference with both the Mudhen and Apache. Give it a shot, and surprisingly doesn't make the textures all that worse.

I'll give that a shot, thanks for the tip.

    VR FPS

Not sure if this should go here or in bugs, I don't really think it's a bug. Is anybody else having a MASSIVE FPS hit in VR with the F-15E? I launched into the Nevada cold and dark quick start and my average FPS in the F-15E is ~20fps. Just to test I went into the mission editor and changed to the F-14, everything else was the same and the FPS was pegged at 60fps in VR. For reference my system is: Quest 2 Ryzen 5 5600x at 4.2ghz 32gb 3000 ram EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 Ultra Gaming Windows 11 Pro It's not exactly a beast of a PC but it does really well. Any other aircraft I run, almost no matter the mission I get anywhere from 40fps on the low end to 60fps in VR. For some reason the F-15E and the AH-64 the FPS in VR just tanks hard. I should note this is standalone DCS, not the Steam edition.
  6. With due respect I think you're taking the wrong message here. With regards to preorder/EA vs waiting for a full release, you're never going to make everybody happy, that's nothing new. Personally I have no issue with preorders and early access, I fully understand that there will be a wait when I hit that buy button and that the EA release will have limitations (I'm looking at you Viper!) and/or bugs. That's fine. The issue with regards to this module is not so much that though. There were statements directly from you, ("you" being ED in general,) saying things like "Release imminent," and "Coming in hot!" Then a sudden flood of YouTube content creator videos, especially from some pretty small channels. All indications that a release is very near. Then all of the sudden there is a 2 second bit at the end of an RB video that states another two month wait. For the longest time EDs only statement was basically "We never gave a release date, we'll tell you when we're ready," and RB saying "It wasn't us." Meanwhile there was, and still is, a flood of content creator videos being posted daily on YouTube. Then a statement of "We found an issue." Ok, fine, that happens in a testing phase, nothing wrong with that. But again, even with this issue that was found, YouTube videos are being posted daily, mission runs, tutorials etc., not from RB until recently, but relatively small content creators showing the module in what looks like a pretty EA releasable state. I love DCS but frankly EDs responses can leave a lot to be desired. With this issue it took a couple of weeks to get a one sentence statement, and others that TBH felt like throwing a victim flag. You guys need to work on your communication when it comes to issues, simply saying "We never gave you a release date," after you, RB and the YouTube CCs gave every indication that it was ready for release isn't going to cut it. If something came up, fine, say that, get in front of it and make an actual statement. It's not so much that there was an issue, its been your response, or lack of one to said issue that has, quite frankly understandably, frustrated a lot of people.
  7. I could see your point if I were talking about RBs official channel but thats not the case. There's a dozen or more YT channels, some with a few hundred views that are releasing videos daily. As other have said, typically the flood of YT videos is a sign of a close release, especially when the devs release a cold start video. Combine that with ED saying what they said, then both RB and ED going basically radio silent while YTers keep pumping out videos and its understandable where people would get a little miffed.
  8. But if that's the case, and I don't doubt that it's true, why allow the YouTube content creators to release videos left and right? And we're not talking about previews, these are tutorials, mission videos that would usually only come out after or just before a release. If there was an issue then cool, no problem but with the videos coming out daily, it looks to us like the content creators are doing just fine with it. Maybe that particular issue is more on RB but the point still stands. Combine that with statements from ED like "coming in hot," and "imminent," that a day later changes to "when we 100% know we'll tell you," I'm sure you can understand where people might get a little upset.
  9. I think RB intended to have it out but something happened after they lifted the creator embargo, either ED said something or they found something. Either way it's certainly not exactly helping the hype.
  10. I'm not going so far to say I want my money back but I'm definitely disappointed in the flood of content on YT and it not being released.
  11. *ish Honestly, I think it was planned to be released around now based on the level of videos coming out on YouTube, that's the usual pattern anyways. I *think* that ED pushed it back for some reason, but the most frustrating part is that neither ED or RB are saying anything about it.
  12. I've seen several videos where selective jettison worked fine.
  13. That would be my guess, I don't think RB delayed it, IMHO I think ED told them to hold off, probably due to the Sinai map.
  14. This for me is the main sticking point in this issue. I get the marketing aspect, and I understand release time frames. But the videos that have been flooding youtube aren't just previews by a few big content creators, these have been tutorials, full on missions that are being done by almost everyone with a DCS related channel. You'd swear it was released already or will be shortly because that's typically the pattern. Then to get smacked with a 2-ish month wait, it's understandable for customers to have a WTH moment. Whether it was ED or RB that made the decision to lift the embargo this far out and/or delay it after lifting it, it's not a good look. Just my two cents for what it's worth.
  15. I don't have a problem with the time frame so much as the push from content creators. Usually we see the level of videos we've seen the last couple of days within a few weeks of release, not ~2 months away. This makes me think it may have been ED pushing it back for some reason and not RAZBAM. Either way its not a good look.
  16. Didn't know whether to put this in bugs or missions, the hover and transition training mission has a minor bug, it says to set the torque to 53% in the text but the voiceover says 69%. It's minor but caught my attention.
  17. Did you hit the rotor on something when you landed or or tip over or something? If you broke the blades they will be out of balance and your attack chopper is now a paint mixer...I've found that out the hard way!
  18. IIRC they said something about wanting to do a Z but DoD told them to pack sand. I could be wrong on that.
  19. As a general rule Steam dates should be taken with a grain of salt, IIRC developers have to give a date to put anything in an actual preorder status on Steam.
  20. Usually we see more videos as a release gets closer but we haven't seen many lately. I'm not worried about it, it'll release when they're ready.
  21. Gunship 2000 was my thing when I was a kid!
  22. Hard to pick but I'd say HARM and AMRAAM.
