  1. Thanks! I don't recall if I cranked right or left after this volley, but i always turn to gimbal limit, come down to mil power, and go nose down at least 5°, and hold that aspect until they go pitbull. Will keep up the re-learning, as you suggest!
  2. Ah, I did not know that, thankyou. Will try again with 10° on the nose. Anything else amiss with my attempts? Range, speed, altitude, relative altitude to bandits, etc? Target size switch was set to Small, is that working as intended?
  3. Here's a short tacview clip of a test I did last night - I've been trying to keep up with all the changes/developments of the missile, but real life has bogged me down. Did I do something incorrect, here? I know the missile has gotten a lot more strict about needing to be in more ideal launch parameters to effect a splash. Any insight you could share would be appreciated, thankyou
  4. Yep lol, just figured out how to bind the hcu axes, half & full actions, and the Next Launch commands to the pilot controls. Now I can hook and assign fire order from the front seat! Have already made backups for when the patches come out. Similar to what I was doing back when I was using the LANTIRN pilot seat mod
  5. Resurrection, again! Just ran into this problem with our group of Tomcats last night. Is this implemented yet, where we can tell Jester the fire order we want?
  6. I just subconsciously install the NVG mod after every update, haven't had problems with night visibility NVG_FOCUS_MOD.rar
  7. Yeah that's what I found with the MiG-31s. They were sprinting to intercept me, and I was sprinting toward them at full burn in the B model while at 40k feet. The closure rate was pretty obscene lol
  8. Greetings to all, Got into a weird conversation on a DCS fb page. A user asked if the AI F-14s were currently bugged, because they weren't shooting their 54s at long range. Another user told him that AIM-54s only work against fighters between 30-40 miles, because anything longer than that was designed to intercept lumbering, non-maneuvering bombers. He then confidently stated multiple times that in both real life and DCS, the 54 can't kill MiGs past 40 miles. I mentioned that variables like altitude, speed, and closure rate play a big factor in that, and he doubled down. I showed him a youtube clip of me taking out 4 MiG-31s - yeah, I get that they're interceptors and not nimble fighters, but the tacview showed them going defensive as hell. The first two were shot at from just over 60 miles, and the last two I think were around 40 miles out or so. Splash 4 for 4 - Tomcat wins the day. Of course his response was that I was just lucky lol Anyway, he sealed his fate when he said it's impossible in real life AND DCS, when I knew he was wrong about the DCS part. But what about real life? Not too knowledgeable on the real life exploits of the 54. Thanks!
  9. Yeah I'm curious to see if the if the pitch change when using DLC is correct or what. A lot different now!
  10. Glad I asked this! Good stuff, thanks everyone
  11. @IronMike, can you set me straight on what my expectations should be for this, sir? Thanks!
  12. So if you're manually flying in the Case 3, you're supposed to be on ICLS? ICLS matches FLOLS, ACLS doesn't? Thanks for your response
