  1. Cypher has responded to the complaints and is looking for PM's regarding affected units: https://forum.virpil.com/index.php?/topic/1306-problems-with-non-linear-no-center-avasim-cams/&do=findComment&comment=11733
  2. For me it was no center ava sim that suffered. Let's hope Virpil will send newly designed cam's free to anyone concerned.
  3. While WarBRD doesn't have this problem the cam profile could also be changed. This asymmetry is only apparent in the soft center avasim cams. The cam profile can overcome the position of the rollers. Literally one side of the cam needs to be shortened. It's just a calculation error in the cam design. It seems to be only a mistake made on the no center AVAsim cam as the other 3 cams do not show this flaw. Thus you can't say it's a flaw in a single cam or other design features. I've had both bases and I do think the WarBRD base is the best, it has more deflection and with the new extra heavy springs nearly the same forces. The
  4. Please add to the thread on Virpil's forum if you wan't something done about it https://forum.virpil.com/index.php?/topic/1306-problems-with-non-linear-no-center-avasim-cams/
  5. The lenses are designed for your eyes to be as close as possible to them. Then the sweet spot will be adequate. If you see vignetting on one edge only you need to shift the headset up/down or side/side not in/out. Look straight up, adjust the straps with the headset in the sweet spot then when looking around it should stay there. It needs to be worn pretty tight. It took me over a week of daily hour long use to finally figure all this out. If you see slight vignetting on all sides you might just have it perfect, try to immerse yourself in the sim and you'll stop noticing it.
  6. I think the Reverb is excellent price/performance for simmers. Without mechanical IPD it could leave something to be desired but if you fall into the 95th percentile you'll be fine. My IPD is 67mm and It's right on the cusp so I'm moving to an Index when they are available. I still strap the reverb on 1-2 hours a day to fly.
  7. I probably wouldn't hurt for the affected people to post on the thread in their forums as well. They asked me for the SN of my stick which may play a role but this seems to affect everyone who's tried those cams. https://forum.virpil.com/index.php?/topic/1306-problems-with-non-linear-no-center-avasim-cams/
  8. They could add a load cell to one of their test examples in the lab and plot it against the encoder values. Either way, I'm a bit more optimistic this will be solved by Virpil. I've made contact and they were eager to solve it.
  9. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=261204 I added my own feedback at the end.
  10. I think you can also create a virtual axis from the encoders. https://forum.virpil.com/index.php?/topic/850-setting-delta-encoder-wheel-as-virtual-axis-and-hardcoded-axis-precision/
  11. The funny thing is it's the side with more leverage on the spring that shows the additional force. It literally could be re profiled as a solution. It's totally possible but without their drawings it's not going to be me who figures it out. It's not like it's off by a small amount. If I had to guess this is like a 10-20% difference. Furthermore it's not a symptom shown by the soft center ava sim or either of the cosmo sim cam profiles, that alone is enough to logic my way out of thinking it's a design flaw of the asymmetrical cam.
  12. I have most definitely let them know. I'm considering buying one anyways, I'm a little disappointed in my Virpil CM2
  13. They must be miscalculating something because my Slaw device rudder uses one cam and it's offset so it doesn't have a symmetrical cam design and has perfectly equal forces. I'm gong to bring a spring scale home and see how far off they are. The biggest bummer is Virpil isn't really communicating on this. I'll gladly buy updated cams.
  14. I have the same issue with these cams. I posted on their forums: https://forum.virpil.com/index.php?/topic/1306-problems-with-non-linear-no-center-avasim-cams/
  15. This makes me sad. I would totally buy this to play IL2 and DCS but not without proper directX support. Maybe we can all pitch in to hire a programmer..
