  1. Having flown light vintage tail draggers IRL, my two cents is that slow speed taxiing seems more bumpy then it should be, at least around needs oar point on the normandy 2.0 map. I would expect bouncyness at higher speeds from the rear end but not while slower. Another reason it may seem more bouncy then it should be is because IRL our heads self filter our vision much in the same way a camera has a stabelisation mode.
  2. As far as i remember the noise of the napier is more of a buzzing sound, like a nest of angry hornets. There's a video somewhere of one going after a V1. closest i can find is this though.

    B.IV or B.IX

I'd happily pay full price for a bomber mossie with a 4000lb bomb
  4. With the current plane set the Brits are notably lacking high speed aircraft relative to the US and Germany. Either of these aircraft would be an interesting and fitting addition to the line up due to the intricacies of the aircraft, though with no flying examples it would be tough to model. Arguably one of the most interesting parts of these aircraft are the Napier Sabre engines that are used, producing a fair amount more power then the rival engines, the merlin and the daimler engines. They were known for their low down speeds, brutal operating routines and quirks, such as being so fast they would rip their own controls off, their engines would catch fire if overprimed. The typhoon would fulfil the 1941-1943 period, and the tempest would fulfill the 1944-1945 role. In addition it would be formidable due to being able to be armed with cannons, rockets and bombs.
  5. Awesome! is there a list of the available airfields? Wondering If i'll get to fly from Andrewsfield where I did my ppl from
  6. Has anyone come across such a mod? The thought occurred to me that it would be very useful for simpit builders that want to make accurate representations without having to find either documents with specs or finding the real aircraft, just an idea
  7. yeah I know, I did my atpl exams and finished them last year, that's why i was scratching my head, think I just had a hard time adjusting the p8 compass, all is fine in dcs except strangely for how they report wind but oh well lmao. Also seems in you're example the p8 isn't correctly alligned either, they had to stick it in the weirdest positions. As for deviation I would be neato to have it modelled bit it is nowhere mentioned in the manuals. A shame. I do need to learn how to use the RI compass though
  8. Done another test and it seems as if its just very hard to get it lined up properly, thanks for the assist!
  9. I set it using active pause in the air while straight and level, so I'm rather confused as to my compass would be so far off, I shall attempt another test. Thanks for helping.
  10. Hey all, quick question on the p8 compass and DI regarding dcs. when aligned to get the mag heading I then use that to align the DI. however the issue seems to be that what is output is different to what dcs shows in terms direction needed to fly, in this example, nill wind, flying from one airfield to the other, none of the headings match up between the sim and tacview, neither magnetic or true. so my question is is there Deviation that i'm missing out or something out? For reference the variation in this case is 12W. nullnullnullnull
  11. I'll keep flying and post tracks, had to clear my tac and replay files for space, I fly the mossie so I'm sure it wont take long to get you some ahaha
  12. Got a strange one here, was flying on 4ya ww2 server, the mission ended and that track acts fine, however the track after it acts like a mission file, asking me to pick the coalition, aircraft and so on, it also allows switches and buttons to be pressed which is rather odd, any help would be appreciated. 06._24_JUNE_1944_v4.7.4-20230131-223133.trk05._22_JUNE_1944_v4.2.4-20230131-221844.trk what's stranger yet is that the latter track file is much smaller then the first one (05). could it be corrupted?
  13. Hey all, looking for some help here as OBS is baffling me with the way its acting, I've tried to record and stream separately but i'm running into issues with stuttering and low quality, as well as it keeping the black mask around the eye, while I know resizing can help i'm curious to know if there is a way to make it output from the game as if a normal screen. As far as stuttering, it usually happens when I am tabbed into dcs but not while im not, i'm not sure what could be causing this but it's rather confusing. My specs are: CPU - 5800x3d GPU - RTX 2080 ACX RAM - 32gb CL14 G Skill MOBO - x570 Tomohawk SSD - Samsung 980 evo VR - REVERB G2 Strangely shadowplay has no issues with recording dcs so it leads me to believe its not a hardware issue. Any help would be appreciated
  14. the more I keep an eye on the this the more I wish to build a sim pit for one, shame finding dimension is incredibly hard, which begs the question, were you allowed to 3d scan a real Lancaster to model this?
  15. Curious to hear of other peoples experiences on this subject as I've been flying the mosquito more recently and even at tree top level they seem to track me incredibly well, it seems to me as if you cannot surprise the AI per say as one could in real life with the surprise raids that often occurred using mosquitos. So my question is this, how does AI track targets in DCS? Does it have blind spots per say, such as in aircraft where they wouldn't be able to detect someone sneaking up on their low 6, or for ground targets can they track targets through ground clutter such as trees, buildings and other things? I'm finding it rather frustrating trying to get the most out of this module as the main purpose of it is ground attack and it seems that it is only possible to hit ground targets not protected by AAA. Perhaps better tactics could be used. This is not a rant but rather a discussion on peoples experiences as I'm interested to hear others experiences to see if maybe there's some adjustment that could be done or if I just need to get good
