  1. Everyone's talking about 2160p panels on the Reverb as if they're going to be viable for flight sims. They're not going to give you better image quality than the Index or Rift S in almost all cases. Actually the Reverb apparently has a very small sweet spot anyway. Considering that DCS is not going to be viable above the resolution of the current generation of VR and PC hardware, we should be focusing on subpixel resolution, lens quality, field of view, SDK quality and support, etc. Who knows, maybe ED will get serious about VR performance and working more on their engine vice modules, but history indicates otherwise. Anyone with both a Rift and a Vive want to weigh in on the quality of Valve's Motion Smoothing? I've heard ASW is significantly better than MS, and Oculus probably isn't going to slow down any time soon.
  2. Correct. T4-T6 are momentary 2-ways, spring loaded to center. T1 is the same, just with a cover that will mechanically hold it in one direction when closed. T2/T3 are two-position "latched" switches.
  3. You're a madman, Blue. Looking forward to seeing that UFC in physical form.
  4. Jimmy, great pictures and story. You guys were friggin' heroes, thanks for all the blood sweat and tears.
  5. Exciting news, Miles! It's been a pleasure following your methodical progress. Can't wait to get my mitts on your work.
  6. Mostly excuses thus far. I paid for a complete module, but ED is on track to start or finish newer ones before they even get the Yak to pass muster. The lack of progress is not acceptable.
  7. ITT people who don't appreciate the benefits of A-pole?
  8. It's realistic, and that's good, but it doesn't fit in well with the air quake Flaming Cliffs jets and their oversimplified sensors. It's the same old story... Individual aircraft models in DCS are exquisite, but they come together as patchwork in an environment that doesn't generate realistic action. Falcon 4 is still closer, all these years later.
  9. It’s hard to keep up with this. What is a “release list” and do I need to do anything else to buy one of these at launch? Isn’t that the point of the list?
  10. Jet is trimmed for 8.1 (or whatever you trimmed for.) As you accelerate, it pitches up. If you stopped accelerating at about 140, you would probably have settled at 1g.
  11. Exactly. What a silly hill to die on. What would you like next, to fill out paperwork after playing your game? Simulator enthusiasts seem to always be missing the forest for the trees.
  12. Why do you say it's the seeker? The Phoenix was SARH/ARH.
  13. Wait til they fix the ghost button presses on the throttle. I'm not the only one dealing with this issue, and support has been limited to "update your firmware." It doesn't fix anything.
  14. Goodness gracious you need to work on some patience. Everyone has high standards, but you're irrational.
  15. Rather than make a new thread for another silly question... anyone else have a really hard time getting air to ground point tracks in AG? I've had one... the carrier. Even from ideal ranges, 5-6 miles, hitting point track does nothing, the sample box doesn't even appear.
  16. Tom, I remember having this once upon a time, also Rift. Try removing your saved games folder (save it elsewhere temporarily as you test,) and let the game build a new one.
  17. No, because I'm an adult, and that's not worth anyone's time. Flight sims in the Age of Outrage. What a time to be alive.
  18. What's absurd is how many people feel the need to continue responding to this, whether they disagree or not. The horse is long-dead.
  19. I've had this about 5 or 6 times. Almost every time I jump in the RIO pit. I thought it was a plausible computer error.
  20. It's great, but it's magnified in the back seat over MP, I think due to the added latency.
  21. If you have a Ryzen 5 and less than 16GB of RAM, you are not doing enough research before upgrading.
  22. Instrument scan drill. Search this pdf: https://www.cnatra.navy.mil/local/docs/pat-pubs/P-1204.pdf
  23. If it's windy enough, the true velocity vector will be outside the HUD. Caging allows you to still get accurate vertical vector component, great for maintaining altitude or visualising angle of attack.
  24. Nice skill. No reason to buy theirs if you can make that!
